Chapter 101 Entering the Grain Depot

After some discussion, despite the opposition from a group of officers, Feng Zhengyang ultimately decided to use a rather risky plan.

That is, he and Bao Yongning would lead a small team of elite soldiers in Chen Yu's M-Hunter sled to first enter the granary to investigate Liang Zheng's true intentions. If Liang Zheng was still loyal to the organization, he would be recalled to the garrison area. If Liang Zheng really wanted to rebel, the soldiers guarding outside the granary could rush in and use force against him.

The reason for not choosing to launch a large-scale attack was twofold: first, to see if there was any room for maneuver; and second, to avoid being wiped out by the enemy if they rushed in without understanding the situation.

Once their small group entered, Chen Yu's sled would make it much easier for them to escape.

Chen Yu did not comment on Feng Zhengyang's decision. It was Feng Zhengyang's own business to take the risk. Chen Yu's goal was simply to get rid of Liang Zheng. He only cared about the result, not the process.

Thus, Feng Zhengyang led a large group of soldiers to the granary.

At Chen Yu's signal, Li Zheng and the others followed.

For a moment, he was the only one left standing there.

He naturally had no intention of participating in such a dangerous activity. Regardless of whether Liang Zheng was ambushed or Feng Zhengyang was at a disadvantage, he would never personally take to the field. He would simply sit back and watch the fight unfold.

It was 4 a.m., and the outdoor temperature had reached -60 degrees Celsius. Coupled with the howling wind, Chen Yu, who was wearing a thick winter coat and had no shelter, couldn't help but feel a bone-chilling cold.

As he watched the procession gradually disappear into the darkness in the distance, he couldn't help but shiver.

With a thought, he retrieved a professional bobsleigh from another dimension.

Chen Yu opened the car door and plopped inside, instantly enveloped by a sense of security.

Taking out a military infrared telescope, Chen Yu began to focus on observing the direction of the distant grain depot. If he discovered anything unusual, he would not hesitate to evacuate immediately.

…………

On the other side, Feng Zhengyang and his group had already arrived at the entrance of the grain depot.

Upon hearing the commotion, the soldiers guarding the granary gate tensed up instantly. Through the granary gate, they raised their guns and shouted at Feng Zhengyang's convoy: "Halt! This is military territory. No loitering allowed!"

"Are you all rebelling? You even dare to stop Commander Feng's car?" Bao Yongning shouted, then got off the sled and calmly walked to the gate. He said in a deep voice through the window, "Where is Liang Zheng? Commander Feng wants to see him."

"Director Bao... Director Bao!" The guard looked surprised and doubtful after seeing Bao Yongning's face clearly.

Looking again at Liang Zheng in the back seat of the car, they seemed to have thought of something, and beads of sweat immediately appeared on their foreheads.

"Are you deaf? Liang Zheng, come out and see Commander Feng immediately!" Bao Yongning asked again, his voice carrying an unquestionable authority, making the already tense soldiers even more uneasy.

The guards exchanged glances, and finally one of them said, steeling himself, "Wait a moment, I'll go ask my superiors."

"Damn it, do I need anyone's approval to see Liang Zheng?" Feng Zhengyang said angrily from the car.

Seeing Feng Zhengyang's anger, the guard captain took a deep breath and tried to remain calm, saying, "Commander, please calm down. We were just following orders."

"Obey orders? Obey whose orders? Liang Zheng?" Feng Zhengyang's face darkened. "Could it be that my orders as the commander-in-chief are less effective than those of a deputy commander?"

"These are special times, and we hope the commander will understand," the guard captain said neither humbly nor arrogantly, appearing as if he were simply going through the motions without fear of authority.

Feng Zhengyang laughed in fury upon seeing this: "Fine, then I'll wait here. I want to see what Liang Zheng is up to!"

"Commander Feng, please proceed," the guard captain said indifferently, then closed the doors and windows again.

"Captain, are we really going to do this? This is the commander!" a guard said in a trembling voice to the guard captain.

Upon hearing this, the guard captain glared at the guard and said indifferently, "Wu Gui, all you need to know is that as a soldier, you only need to carry out the orders of your direct superior. The rest is not our concern."

After a pause, the captain of the guard glanced at Feng Zhengyang's sled through the crack in the door and said meaningfully, "This is a game between big shots. We'll side with whoever is to our advantage."

"Understood." The guards around him nodded slightly. They understood that for ordinary soldiers like them, this might be the only chance to defy fate.

Clearly, under Liang Zheng's enticement, they had already made their choice.

Feng Zhengyang and the others were naturally unaware of the guards' conversation.

However, at this moment they all sensed an unusual atmosphere.

Feng Zhengyang sat in the car with a furrowed brow. If he could, he really didn't want to use force against Liang Zheng. After all, whether it was the soldiers he brought or the soldiers in the granary, they were all soldiers of the garrison, all belonging to his, Feng Zhengyang's, troops.

Internal strife was the last thing he wanted to see.

However, as a soldier, he knew he couldn't make decisions based solely on his emotions. A merciful commander cannot lead an army; if he didn't ruthlessly suppress his subordinates' mutiny, it would surely lead to even more terrifying consequences.

Just as Feng Zhengyang was pondering, a series of hurried footsteps suddenly echoed inside the grain depot.

After a while, the guard who had gone in to report the situation returned to the granary gate, accompanied by a team of fully armed soldiers, and then conveyed the instructions from above to the guard captain.
