Chapter 189 Frost Alliance

Chen Yu quickly got into the car to check, and saw several large words appear on the security system's display panel: "Alert! Unknown vehicle approaching!"

The footage transmitted by the mechanical dog showed three fully armed sleds rapidly approaching Chen Yu and his group. The sleds had unidentified markings on them, and the windows were closed, making it impossible to see inside.

"Mr. Chen, what happened?" Niu Ke asked nervously, his voice tinged with unease.

Lin Lele, Qiao Meng, and driver Xiao Yang also looked solemn, all turning their gazes to Chen Yu, waiting for his answer.

Chen Yu quickly analyzed the current situation, his eyes flashing with calmness and decisiveness. "It seems we've been targeted by an unknown force," he said in a low voice.

Upon learning of the current situation, Newsk paced back and forth anxiously: "Oh dear! Mr. Chen, really, you're a super-rich man, how could you go out in this extreme cold disaster without bringing enough security personnel?"

Chen Yu ignored Niu Kesi and instead instructed Xiao Yang, "Notify Lei Ying and the others to come and assemble immediately."

"Yes!" Xiao Yang accepted the order and quickly returned to the driver's seat, using the walkie-talkie to contact the "militia" convoy 20 kilometers away from the RV.

"Xiao Qiao, go back to the car, close the doors and windows, and don't get out no matter what happens."

Qiao Meng nodded repeatedly. She knew that she couldn't help in this situation and might even become a burden to Chen Yu and the others.

So she quickly turned around, walked firmly back into the RV, and followed Chen Yu's instructions to close all the doors and windows tightly. She then found a spot where she could observe the outside situation but would not expose herself.

"Lele, grab your weapon and come with me."

"Yes, sir!" Lin Lele responded quickly, a resolute glint in her eyes.

"What about me? What about me?" Niu Ke asked anxiously as Chen Yu and Lin Lele were about to leave.

“My RV is bulletproof. Go back to the driver’s seat, Xiao Yang will protect you,” Chen Yu said.

After saying that, without waiting for Niu Si Ke's reaction, he led Lin Lele into the snowstorm.

Based on the direction the other vehicle was coming from, the two found a small hill and quickly climbed up it.

Standing on the hillside, Chen Yu and Lin Lele were able to observe the movements of the three sleds more clearly by taking advantage of the terrain.

In the wind and snow, the vehicles resembled three ferocious wild beasts, pressing forward relentlessly with menacing momentum.

Chen Yu gripped the binoculars tightly, his sharp eyes scanning the approaching sled.

In this desolate snowfield, there are no roads at all; everywhere you look there are "roads." These three sleds, instead of going anywhere else, headed straight for their RV, their destination clearly clear.

Chen Yu was certain that they were coming for him and his group, and were not just passing by.

Chen Yu wasn't really concerned about the three sleds; what worried him was whether there was an even larger force behind them.

After all, organizing such a fully armed team in such a harsh and frigid environment is no easy feat.

Now, more than 50 days after the extreme cold disaster struck, resources have become extremely scarce, people's hearts have begun to waver, and various forces are gradually emerging under the drive of despair and greed.

Moreover, such a long period of time has given many factions ample time to modify their weapons and various equipment.

In other words, Chen Yu's previous advantage in weaponry has been gradually weakened. Now, it's no longer an era where he can sweep everything away with just an assault rifle or an infantry fighting vehicle. If he encounters a slightly stronger opponent, he could very well be defeated unexpectedly.

Therefore, Chen Yu was extremely cautious in the face of this unknown armed force. He did not launch an attack immediately, but instead planned to find out why they had come.

After all, we're all navigating society in this apocalyptic world, so it's best to prioritize harmony.

Soon, the three sleds arrived at the bottom of the hillside.

Chen Yu raised his assault rifle at the opportune moment, and a burst of bullets swept across the front of the sled.

"Da da da~"

Gunshots echoed across the silent snowfield, instantly shattering the surrounding tranquility.

The people inside the sled were clearly startled by the sudden attack; the vehicle jerked violently but quickly stabilized and came to a steady stop on the snow.

"Gentlemen, my team and I are staying here for the night and do not wish to be disturbed. If you are just passing through, please take a detour," Chen Yu shouted down, his voice carrying an unquestionable authority.

The people inside the sled were clearly taken aback by Chen Yu's decisive actions and tough attitude. After a brief silence, a deep voice responded through the loudspeaker: "Friends, we are the advance team of the 'Frost Legion.' We mean no harm. We are just on orders to search for survivors in this area. We saw signs of human activity ahead, so we came to check."

Chen Yu frowned upon hearing this. "The Frost Legion"? This didn't sound like a legitimate organization. It was very likely a new force born in the extreme cold of the post-apocalyptic world. Their purpose might not be as simple as searching for survivors. Moreover, judging from what they said, their scale was probably quite large.

However, at this critical juncture, direct conflict is not a wise move, especially when the other party's background is completely unknown.

"Since that's the case, and you've confirmed it now, then leave quickly," Chen Yu said in a deep voice.

“Friends, we mean no harm. Our ‘Frost Legion’ belongs to the ‘Frost Alliance.’ Our aim is to integrate resources from all sides to search for survivors and jointly resist this natural disaster and other potential threats during this extreme cold catastrophe.” The other party’s voice came through the loudspeaker again.
