On the snow-covered plain, the night was as dark as thick ink, almost swallowing up all the light. Only the occasional twinkling starlight pierced through the clouds, bringing a faint guidance to this boundless white world.

Chen Yu and Lin Lele did not wait for reinforcements. Instead, they stayed close to the ground, using the terrain and the darkness as cover, and silently tracked Niuske.

I don't know how much time passed, but after walking about two or three kilometers, Niu Si stopped.

He glanced around warily, then vanished into the vast snowfield in a flash.

Upon seeing this, Lin Lele's eyes widened: "Sir, where are the Niusk people?"

Chen Yu also frowned. This vast snowfield offered no cover, and in the blink of an eye, Niu Si Ke had vanished into thin air.

However, he quickly calmed down, thinking that perhaps Newsk had jumped into a snow pit or something.

"Stay alert. We'll split up and search the surroundings, paying particular attention to any seemingly naturally formed depressions or snowdrifts," Chen Yu quickly analyzed and gave instructions, his eyes sharp in the darkness.

Lin Lele nodded immediately, and the two split up, carefully exploring the surrounding snowfield in the direction where Niusk had disappeared. The cold wind howled, stirring up gusts of snow mist, but their movements were exceptionally nimble, trying their best to make no sound.

Suddenly, the two stopped almost simultaneously.

Not far ahead, a whisper from Niu Ke could be heard: "Eat slowly, don't choke."

"Brothers, in this world, I'm the only one who's been this good to you. You must remember my kindness!"

"Shh~ Don't make a sound. That little bastard Chen Yu seems to have discovered something today. In order to avoid falling into his clutches, we must be more careful from now on!"

"Yes, tear him to pieces! That bastard is ambitious and will be a menace sooner or later!"

"Sir, he has accomplices, should we..." Lin Lele silently called out to Chen Yu, while making a throat-slitting gesture.

Chen Yu gently shook his head, glanced at the direction they had come from, and signaled Lin Lele not to act rashly. They didn't know the details of Niu Ke's accomplices yet, so there was no need to take risks. They should wait for reinforcements to arrive before taking any further action.

Lin Lele immediately understood Chen Yu's meaning, nodded slightly, then quickly adjusted her breathing to calm her heartbeat, and returned to her hidden position.

Meanwhile, Niusk's whispers continued.

Most of the accusations were against Chen Yu, as if they were brainwashing his accomplices.

Chen Yu was speechless. He hadn't expected that Niu Ke, who always seemed so cheerful in front of him, would harbor such deep hostility towards him behind his back and even incite his accomplices to harm him.

Not long after, Chen Yu and Lin Lele heard a rustling sound behind them; the militia reinforcements had arrived.

"Mr. Chen Yu, where is Niu Ke?" Qiao Meng asked in a low voice, panting heavily.

Chen Yu pointed ahead and then gestured to the "militiamen".

The group understood and immediately scattered, carefully surrounding the area where Niu Si might be hiding.

At the same time, a noise came from the area where Newsk was located, clearly indicating that Newsk had noticed something.

Without further hesitation, Chen Yu immediately issued the order: "Action!"

The militia responded swiftly, like ghosts in the night, silently approaching the hiding place of Niusk and his accomplices.

Suddenly, Niusk cautiously poked his head out of a snow pit ahead.

When he saw the dark gun barrels surrounding him, his face turned deathly pale.

"No...don't shoot, I surrender!" Niusk's voice trembled as he raised his hands high.

"Come out!" Chen Yu said coldly.

"Mr. Chen, it's you? What are you doing out here in this freezing weather?" When Niu Sike saw Chen Yu, he breathed a sigh of relief and slowly climbed out of the snow pit.

"Shouldn't I be asking you that?" Chen Yu replied coldly, his eyes sharp as knives. "In this freezing weather, why aren't you sleeping at night? What shady business are you up to, sneaking around so far away?"

Upon hearing this, Niu Ke felt a chill run down his spine and retorted, "I...I came here to take a dump."

"Heh, in temperatures below -70 degrees Celsius, you come out to poop in the wild, you're something else," Chen Yu sneered.

He then gave the "militia" a look.

The militiamen understood and quickly surrounded the snow pit.

"No, don't touch my brothers! They're innocent!" Niu Ke cried out in alarm.

However, no one paid attention to his shouts. Everyone looked solemn, held their breath, and moved step by step toward the snow pit.

Just when Chen Yu thought a major battle was about to break out, Lei Tao, the leader of the "militia" company, put down his weapon and turned to give Chen Yu a helpless smile.

Chen Yu frowned upon seeing this: "What's going on?"

"Commander, come and see for yourself." Lei Tao said with a wry smile.

Upon seeing this, Chen Yu walked over with a suspicious look on his face. When he saw the scene below the snow pit, his face turned ashen.

In the snow pit, there was no sign of Lei Tao's accomplices, only a few weak cats and dogs. In front of each of them, there were several chicken legs piled up. Clearly, these were the "brothers" that Niu Ke had mentioned.

“Mr. Chen, I know that food is precious these days and shouldn’t be used on these little animals, but I…I…Don’t worry, when we get to Haidu, I will repay you double! Please don’t hurt them.” Niu Si Ke pleaded with Chen Yu. He hadn’t expected that Chen Yu would make such a big fuss over just stealing a few chicken legs. Was this a violation of the law?
