Chapter 230 Collective Sleep

Chen Yu was holding a half-eaten piece of bread in his hand, with some breadcrumbs still on his mouth.

Lin Lele immediately understood what was going on. Thinking about how her stomach was growling with hunger while Chen Yu was secretly eating under the covers, she became furious and shouted, "Well, sir, you're stealing food! I'm starving..."

Chen Yu was startled by Lin Lele's action. If he woke up his "roommates," he would be really embarrassed. So he immediately stuffed the remaining half of the bread into Lin Lele's mouth to shut her up.

Lin Lele received the bread. Although she was still somewhat resentful, considering her current situation and how hungry she was, she didn't continue to argue with Chen Yu. She glared at Chen Yu, then went back to her bed, crawled under the covers, and silently began to eat.

Chen Yu smiled wryly, secretly eating bread under the covers behind Lin Lele's back—it was truly a helpless act.

After all, although the stadium is a little warmer inside than outside, the indoor temperature will not exceed minus 30 degrees Celsius. At such a temperature, let alone bread, even a lump of mud would freeze into ice crystals very quickly.

He simply couldn't come up with a reasonable explanation for this soft bread!

Fortunately, Lin Lele didn't seem to notice anything unusual, which relieved him.

Suddenly, he frowned slightly.

Lin Lele's shout just now was not restrained at all. Her voice was so loud that it could wake up even a pig, let alone someone in the same room.

However, the twenty-odd people in the dormitory remained fast asleep.

Chen Yu couldn't help but get off the bed and stick his finger on the nose of the person next to him to check.

No problem, breathing is steady and long, she's alive.

Then he checked the breath of another person, and found the same thing.

Chen Yu felt increasingly puzzled. He looked around and saw that everyone in the dormitory was still asleep, showing no signs of being disturbed.

After thinking for a moment, he took out a gong from the other-dimensional space and struck it hard.

"Thump~"

The gong emitted a piercing sound that echoed through the silent dormitory, deafeningly loud and seemingly able to penetrate all barriers of slumber.

Surprisingly, the people inside the dormitory remained unresponsive, their breathing steady, as if the sudden loud noise was merely a gentle breeze.

Lin Lele was startled by the sound of the gong. She peeked out from under the covers and, seeing the gong in Chen Yu's hand, exclaimed, "Sir, are you crazy? Aren't you afraid of being ganged up on?"

However, Chen Yu ignored her and, under her astonished gaze, struck the gong again and again with great force.

The "thump thump thump~" sound echoed in the silent dormitory, deafening and almost tearing the cold air apart.

However, the people inside the dormitory remained sound asleep, showing no signs of being disturbed. Their breathing remained steady and long, as if they were in another world, isolated from the noise of the outside world.

Upon seeing this, Lin Lele's face turned deathly pale, and she stammered, "Sir...sir, are all these people dead?"

Having been with Chen Yu for so long, she's seen dead people before, and she's even personally shot and killed more than one or two people.

However, lying among piles of dead bodies was something she had never experienced before, which made her feel a chill run down her spine.

"Hehe, interesting." Chen Yu smiled faintly. "Let them rest first. I think they're just sleeping too soundly."

"You're kidding me. Who can sleep that soundly? Even if there are exceptions, there are more than 20 people here. How could they all be sleeping so soundly at the same time?" Lin Lele gave her a look that said, "I'm educated, don't try to fool me."

"Let's get some rest too."

Chen Yu yawned, stopped explaining to Lin Lele, and went to sleep.

Lin Lele's eyes widened in surprise. What time was it? How could Chen Yu still be sleeping?

But just as she was thinking this, she felt a wave of dizziness wash over her, and the scene before her began to blur, as if an invisible force was pulling her, causing her consciousness to gradually sink into darkness.

Lin Lele tried to struggle and stay awake, but the force was unusually strong, making her eyelids heavier and heavier until they finally closed weakly, and she collapsed onto the wooden bed.

…………

He didn't know how much time had passed when he heard a commotion. He opened his eyes and suddenly stood up.

"You two newcomers, stop standing there! The cafeteria's open for lunch, or you'll miss out on hot food!" A gruff voice rang in his ears. Chen Yu looked up and saw a middle-aged man in heavy winter clothes making his bed while reminding Chen Yu and Lin Lele.

Chen Yu rubbed his eyes, looked around, and found that everyone else in the dormitory had already gotten up. Some were making their beds, while others were already dressed and ready to go out.

He turned to look at Lin Lele and found that she had also sat up, with a look of confusion and bewilderment on her face, clearly not yet fully awake from her drowsiness.

"Lele, are you alright?" Chen Yu asked softly, reaching out to gently pat Lin Lele's shoulder, trying to offer her some comfort and strength.

Lin Lele looked up at Chen Yu, a trace of confusion still lingering in her eyes, but she quickly regained her composure.

"I...I'm fine, I just feel really strange, like I had a very, very long dream."

She rubbed her temples, trying to recall what had happened, but her memory was as blurry as if shrouded in fog.
