After leaving his room, Chen Yu pointed to a rest area outside, indicating that Liu Menghan could talk to him there.

Liu Menghan nodded and followed Chen Yu to the rest area, where the two sat down facing each other.

At the same time, a sense of emotion welled up in his heart.

Liu Menghan shook her head slightly and said with a wry smile, "Mr. Chen, I heard your conversation with Vice Minister Niu Ke just now."

"You only promised to send him some coffee beans, and he's already acting all grateful. Do you think that's reasonable?"

"Who is Niu Ke? In today's terms, he is a high-ranking leader of Tianyu Base. His status and position are undeniable. How could he be so easily disarmed? He used to be the richest man on Earth. Would the feelings of the richest man be so cheap? How could someone like him react so strongly to some coffee beans?"

Upon hearing this, Chen Yu sneered, "Are you saying that Niu Kesi's exaggerated performance was an attempt to please me?"

“Isn’t that right?” Liu Menghan retorted, a hint of determination in her eyes. “Mr. Chen, don’t you think the contrast is too great? Why would someone who once stood at the pinnacle of wealth on Earth show such excessive gratitude for a small coffee bean? Unless, this coffee bean has an extraordinary meaning for him.”

“We are now in a frigid post-apocalyptic world with scarce resources, how can we compare it to the past?” Chen Yu said calmly. “A while ago, Niu Ke did pick up some bad habits, but I have already criticized him and he has corrected them.”

"Hehe, Mr. Chen, you've misunderstood. Don't forget, Tianyu Base is now prosperous and strong. As a senior leader of the base, how could Niu Kesike really lack a few coffee beans?" Liu Menghan smiled slightly, her tone tinged with sarcasm.

Upon hearing this, Chen Yu said impatiently, "Alright, Liu Menghan, you are just an ordinary citizen of Tianyu Base now. Do you know what your punishment is for speaking ill of your leaders behind their backs?"

Upon hearing this, Liu Menghan's expression changed slightly, but she quickly regained her composure, looked directly at Chen Yu, and said firmly, "Mr. Chen, I did not intend to speak ill of the leadership; it was only out of concern for the future of the base that I dared to raise this question with you. If my words have offended you, please forgive me. But please believe that everything I have done is for the harmony and development of the base."

“If I can’t raise questions just because Niu Ke is the base leader, how can our base maintain true harmony and progress?” Liu Menghan said resolutely.

Chen Yu's brows relaxed slightly as he gazed at Liu Menghan, seemingly weighing the sincerity and weight of her words.

Liu Menghan gritted her teeth and continued, "Mr. Chen, perhaps you've been in a high position for too long, only hearing the praises and flattery of those below you, but failing to perceive the true voices that are deliberately hidden. If a group loses sincerity and trust and needs to rely on superficial politeness and flattery to maintain itself, it will fall apart sooner or later. Deputy Minister Niu's behavior is not an isolated case at Tianyu Base. If it is not corrected in time, it will probably get worse."

Upon hearing this, Chen Yu's face immediately darkened. He narrowed his eyes, his expression icy.

Liu Menghan seemed unfazed. She straightened her back and her eyes became even more determined: "Mr. Chen, I did not mean to offend you, but it is indeed the case. A healthy and vibrant team should be full of energy and creativity, not like this, where everyone is carefully trying to figure out what their boss is thinking, afraid of saying or doing the wrong thing. Such an atmosphere, although seemingly harmonious, actually hides deep-seated problems."

Chen Yu took a deep breath, trying to calm himself down. He understood that although Liu Menghan's words were sharp, they were not without reason.

Chen Yu couldn't help but reflect on himself. Had he been too harsh on his subordinates? To the point that they only dared to report good news and not bad, for fear of accidentally offending him and affecting their future and fate.

Or perhaps I've been in the clouds for too long, to the point that I've forgotten the land beneath my feet and the realities of life at the grassroots level.

Chen Yu frowned and pondered for a long time. Suddenly, he raised his head and looked at Liu Menghan with suspicion: "Liu Menghan, you didn't just try to curry favor with me and got rejected, so you're resorting to this strategy of retreating to advance, right?"
