Chapter 597 Chen Yu's Personal Arrival

As he watched the approaching army, several emotions flashed across Lei Hu's eyes in an instant, from initial shock to anger, and now to despair and resentment.

Running away is definitely out of the question, but if they surrender on the spot, even if the people from Tianyu Base let them go, the Red Sky Alliance will not let them off easily. The Red Sky Alliance has no tradition of surrendering!

If they surrender, not only will their own fate be uncertain, but their families may also be implicated.

They now have only two choices: either die on the battlefield or find a glimmer of hope in their desperate situation. Lei Hu's eyes gradually turned fierce.

He said in a deep voice to his men beside him, "Brothers, don't be afraid. Although they are an iron torrent and we are only 36 flesh and blood, the woman that Chen Yu cares about is still here. As long as we can get hold of this woman, we may be able to escape unscathed!"

Before Lei Hu finished speaking, a fierce glint flashed in the eyes of his men beside him, as if Lei Hu's words had ignited their fighting spirit. They all nodded, indicating their willingness to face this life-or-death battle alongside Lei Hu.

"Yes, as long as we capture Zhao Yuxuan, Chen Yu will be hesitant to act rashly!" one of his subordinates chimed in, his voice filled with excitement and anticipation.

"You're courting death!" a militiaman shouted angrily. He stood beside Zhao Yuxuan, gripping his rifle tightly.

He was afraid that Lei Hu and his gang would resort to desperate measures, and what he feared still happened.

"Hmph! So what if there are 36 of you against your massive steel torrent? As long as we capture the hostage, the advantage is still mine!" Lei Hu sneered, a ferocious smile spreading across his face. His words carried a hint of madness and provocation, as if he had completely disregarded the consequences.

Seeing this, the two militiamen knew there was no way to salvage the situation, so they pulled the triggers without hesitation, intending to strike first.

"Rat-a-tat-tat-tat~" Two assault rifles fired a dense barrage of bullets, sweeping towards Lei Hu and his men like a storm.

Although Lei Hu and his men were prepared, they had no choice but to retreat temporarily under such intense firepower.

"Damn it!" Lei Hu roared, "Fight! Fight them!"

"Bang bang bang bang bang~" Lei Hu's men also began to retaliate, their weapons spitting fire, bullets flying across the battlefield.

Although their weapons were not as sophisticated as those of the militia, they had the advantage of numbers. Lei Hu's side gradually spread out their firepower and suppressed the militia's counterattack.

As reinforcements from Tianyu Base drew ever closer, Lei Hu grew increasingly anxious. He knew time was running out and he had to use Zhao Yuxuan as leverage as soon as possible.

"Brothers, charge! Capture Zhao Yuxuan, and we'll survive!" Lei Hu roared again, his voice echoing across the battlefield, filled with unwavering resolve.

Upon hearing this, his men seemed to be injected with new energy, and they rushed towards Zhao Yuxuan's location without regard for anything else.

However, just as they were halfway there, a deafening roar suddenly came from an armed helicopter in the distance. Immediately afterward, a missile streaked across the sky, leaving a blazing tail flame, and accurately struck one of Lei Hu's firing positions.

"Boom!" A huge explosion rang out, snowflakes flew, and flames soared into the sky. Half of Lei Hu's men were killed on the spot by this sudden attack, and the rest were terrified and fled in all directions. The originally tight formation collapsed instantly.

"Deputy...Deputy Commander, let's surrender!" one of Lei Hu's men shouted to Lei Hu, his face pale and his voice trembling. His eyes were filled with fear; the explosion had completely robbed him of his will to fight.

Upon hearing this, Lei Hu's eyes widened in anger. He glared fiercely at his subordinate as if he wanted to devour him alive.

"Surrender? Get the hell away from me!" Lei Hu roared, his voice sounding particularly shrill in the cold wind.

However, Lei Hu's roar did not intimidate the others; instead, it caused more of his men to waver.

Looking at their fleeing comrades and then at the approaching reinforcements from the Tianyu Base, they were filled with despair.

Just then, one of the militiamen seized the opportunity and quickly aimed at Lei Hu.

With a loud "bang," the bullet pierced Lei Hu's left arm, and blood instantly stained his sleeve.

Lei Hu swayed and lost his balance, falling to the ground in the snow.

When his men saw their leader fall, their will to fight completely collapsed.

They began to scatter and flee, some even dropping their weapons, only concerned with escaping for their lives.

"Don't run! Come back here!" Lei Hu struggled to his feet, roaring as he tried to stop his men from fleeing, but it was too late.

Faced with such immense fear, Lei Hu's voice sounded so small and powerless, as if it had been instantly swallowed up by the winter wind.

These people are ultimately nothing more than a bunch of worthless scoundrels.

Lei Hu looked at his men who were scattering and fleeing, a hint of despair and anger flashing in his eyes.

"You bunch of useless trash!" Lei Hu roared, but no one paid him any attention. His men had completely lost their will to fight and only wanted to escape this deadly battlefield as quickly as possible.

Lei Hu staggered to his feet, blood still flowing from the wound on his left arm, but he had no time to care. He looked around; reinforcements from Tianyu Base were almost within reach, while his own men had vanished without a trace.

He took a deep breath, trying to calm his panic. He knew that running away now was pointless and would only hasten his death. He had to find a way to survive, a way to escape this place and return to the Red Sky Alliance.

His gaze fell on Zhao Yuxuan again; she was his only bargaining chip and his only hope.

He gritted his teeth, enduring the pain, and walked step by step towards Zhao Yuxuan. His eyes were filled with ruthlessness and determination, as if he would use his last bit of strength to grab this woman.

"You're asking for death!" the militiaman shouted coldly, raising his rifle again, ready to deliver a fatal blow to Lei Hu.

"Stop! Leave them alive!" Just then, Chen Yu's command came through the walkie-talkie on the soldier's chest.

Upon hearing this, the militiaman paused for a moment, then fired a shot into Lei Hu's arm, which was holding the rifle. Lei Hu screamed in pain as the rifle fell from his hand.

One of the militiamen immediately stepped forward and kicked the rifle away.

"Reporting to Mr. Chen, the enemy leader has been subdued. Please give instructions." The militiaman reported to Chen Yu through the walkie-talkie, while pointing his gun at Lei Hu to prevent him from making any further resistance.

"Very good, stay put and wait for me to come over," Chen Yu said in a deep voice.

A short while later, several Z-40 attack helicopters roared down from the sky, their powerful air currents stirring up snowflakes that danced in the air.

The remaining dozens of armed helicopters hovered over the battlefield, maintaining vigilance and providing air support and fire cover for the approaching ground troops.

Chen Yu and Lin Lele stepped off one of the helicopters, followed by a team of fully armed militiamen.
