"I've already tidied up the room, would you like to take a look?" Gu Chu got up, intending to take Rong Shi to see his temporary residence.

Rong Shi declined: "No, I have something to do and need to go out for a while. I might not be back tonight."

Gu Chu immediately understood that he had a secret mission, so she didn't ask any more questions and sat down again.

"Okay, then be careful."

Rong Shi looked at her, staring at Gu Chu quietly for a while. Seeing that she seemed even more beautiful than the last time he saw her, his eyes deepened.

An ambiguous atmosphere silently spread throughout the room.

Seeing Rong Shi staring intently at her, Gu Chu felt a little embarrassed and raised her hand to smooth the stray hairs on her forehead.

The two arrived at a hot pot restaurant in the park. This was the same hot pot restaurant where Gu Qingling had caused trouble with her group. Because of the incident, the restaurant became famous online and its business was booming, making it a popular food spot in the park.

When Gu Chu appeared, the boss immediately recognized her and quickly instructed the staff to warmly welcome her inside.

This puzzled Gu Chu. Why did the staff only come to greet her when so many people came in?

Gu Chu walked into the store with doubts, and the owner personally brought over the menu.

"Gentlemen, this is our menu. We have different hot pot bases and side dishes." The owner enthusiastically handed the menu to Gu Chu.

"You don't seem to eat spicy food much," Gu Chu said, taking the menu and looking at Rong Shi.

Without waiting for a reply, Gu Chu said to the owner, "Give me a hot pot with two broths, one spicy and one non-spicy, with a beef tallow broth and a mushroom broth."

"Okay, please wait a moment!"

Soon, the waiter brought over the prepared hot pot soup. Suddenly, a child ran over and was about to bump into the waiter. Rong Shi reacted quickly, got up, took a few steps over, grabbed the child, and pulled him back a few steps.

The child was so frightened that he cried, and the waiter, realizing what had happened, was trembling as he carried the bowl of broth.

She was so close; the child was about to bump into her. Even if she hadn't fallen, the hot soup in her hand would have spilled onto the child, and the resulting scene would have been horrific.

The child's parents only turned their attention from their phones to their child when they heard the child crying, and when they saw the child, they put their hands on the child's collar.

Without a word, the parent stood up and rushed over, angrily shouting at Rong Shi, "What are you doing! How can a grown adult bully a child? Have you no shame?"

Rong Shi glanced coldly at the parent, then released the child expressionlessly: "Keep an eye on the child."

Once released, the child immediately threw himself into his parents' arms, crying and biting back.

Gu Chu couldn't stand it anymore; anger blazed in her eyes. "Pay up? Yes, you should pay up!"

Everyone was stunned by Gu Chu's words.

Rong Shi is also like that.

Seeing that Gu Chu was easy to talk to, the child's parents made an outrageous demand: "Ten thousand! This matter won't end until we get ten thousand!"

Gu Chu curled her lips into a smile, her eyes icy: "Hmm, then ten thousand it is. Transfer or cash?"

The parent happily took out their phone: "Transfer the money."

Gu Chu also picked up her phone and opened the QR code for receiving payments: "Scan it!"

Gu Chu felt that Rong Shi was not suitable to step in when faced with an unreasonable woman.

The woman, hands on her hips, angrily retorted, "What nonsense are you spouting! Your man hit my child, I'm going to sue him! I'm going to call the police!"

"Sir, you've misunderstood. This gentleman didn't hit your child. Your child was running around and almost bumped into me. This gentleman was afraid that the soup in my hand would spill and burn your child, so he pulled him away," the waiter explained.

"Whatever you say! I think you're all in cahoots." The woman glared angrily at the waiter.

Seeing the woman's unreasonable behavior, Gu Chu said, "Then let's call the police!"

"Wait!" Rong Shi suddenly spoke.

Gu Chu put down her phone and looked at him with a puzzled expression.

Rong Shi said to his worried boss, "Boss, show everyone the surveillance footage here."

The boss then realized what was going on.

"Okay, I'll go right away."

He was only thinking about whether this would cause a big fuss, whether it would trend on social media, and whether it would be good or bad.

The owner projected the surveillance footage onto the screen on the wall of the store. The tempting pictures of hot pot that were originally on the screen were instantly replaced by the surveillance footage.

After watching the video, the people in the store looked at the mother and child with disdain and started pointing and gossiping about them.

Rong Shi looked at the woman with a cold gaze: "Are you still going to call the police?"

The woman was speechless.

Gu Chu then spoke up: "You should apologize to my husband!"

After watching the video, the woman knew she was in the wrong, but she refused to apologize. She lowered her head, turned around, and ran away with her child.

Gu Chu and Rong Shi sat down again.

Gu Chu looked at Rong Shi with a puzzled expression: "Why didn't you let me call the police just now?"
