That night, Gu Chu didn't see Rong Shi return even after falling asleep, and she couldn't help but worry. She wondered how dangerous Rong Shi's mission was.

Gu Chu drifted off to sleep in a daze.

At four o'clock in the morning, Gu Chu's phone suddenly vibrated, and she was startled awake. She quickly answered the call when she saw it was from Rong Shi.

"Hello?"

“Chu Chu, open the door.” Rong Shi’s voice was low.

Gu Chu got up and hurriedly went to open the door.

As soon as the door opened, Rong Shi appeared in the doorway, looking somewhat tired.

When Rong Shi entered the guest room and turned on the light, he saw that the room was very clean, and the sheets and blankets looked brand new. His luggage was placed on the shelf by the door.

When Rong Shi appeared in the bathroom with clothes, Gu Chu was staring blankly at the hot water tap and didn't even notice Rong Shi coming in.

Although Rong Shi only gave her a quick kiss on the lips and left, at this moment, the scene was magnified and slowed down infinitely in Gu Chu's mind.

Her heart raced, her face flushed, and a strange emotion surged within her, a wonderful feeling that she longed for and was thrilled with.

Not long after, Gu Chu heard a noise outside, and she subconsciously got up and went over.

Just as I reached the door, I suddenly stopped, as if I had thought of something, and finally let go of the doorknob.

She turned and leaned against the door, taking a deep breath to calm herself.

Gu Chu returned to bed, her mind filled with Rong Shi's image.

Three hours later, it gradually got light.

Gu Chu drifted off to sleep again.

When she opened her eyes again, it was already past ten in the morning; she had been woken up by hunger.

After getting dressed and going outside, I saw Rong Shi sitting on the sofa in casual clothes, looking down at his phone.

Upon seeing Gu Chu appear, he stood up and walked towards her.

"Are you hungry? The noodles have clumped together. I'll make you a new one."

As Rong Shi was about to head to the kitchen, Gu Chu abruptly grabbed his clothes.

Rong Shi was confused, so he turned around and stared at Gu Chu.

Gu Chu asked, "When did you get up? Why didn't you sleep a little longer? Staying up late is bad for your health. Go back to sleep for a while."

Seeing that Gu Chu cared about him, Rong Shi felt inexplicably good. He smiled and said, "It's okay, I'm used to it. I'll go downstairs and fill your stomach first."

Just then, Gu Chu's phone rang. She answered, "Who is this?"

Xiao Yating's voice came from the other end of the phone: "Gu Chu, it's me!"

Upon hearing that it was Xiao Yating, Gu Chu frowned: "Xiao Yating? How did you get my phone number?"

"Nothing is impossible for a willing heart. I'm downstairs at your place, but the security guard won't let me in," Xiao Yating said, sounding a little aggrieved.

"Then don't come in!" Gu Chu said and hung up the phone.

"Is she a dog? She came here just by smelling the scent." Gu Chu said angrily, putting down her phone.

Seeing that she was angry, Rong Shi gently comforted her, "I'll call her family in a bit and ask them to keep an eye on her."

Gu Chu thought of something and said, "No need. You're leaving today anyway, and I'm bored by myself, so I'll keep her company. I want to see what tricks she's up to!"

A sly glint flashed in Gu Chu's eyes.

“Gu Chu, you don’t really need to pay attention to her. I have no feelings for her at all,” Rong Shi said seriously.

Gu Chu realized something and looked at Rong Shi seriously, asking, "Rong Shi, do you think I'm meddling in other people's business?"

Rong Shi said, "No, I just don't want to cause you any trouble because of me."

Seeing how seriously she treated Xiao Yating, Rong Shi felt a pang of jealousy and blurted out, "What about me? Are you also determined to be with me? Do I have a chance to win your heart?"

Gu Chu was taken aback by Rong Shi's words. She hadn't expected Rong Shi to say such a thing and didn't know how to respond for a moment.

When Rong Shi saw that Gu Chu didn't speak, he realized that he had talked too much.

"It's okay, take your time thinking about it. I'll go downstairs." Rong Shi said and went into the kitchen.
