"Gu Chu," Rong Shi called softly.

Gu Chu looked at him: "What's wrong?"

"I... Lu Beichuan has returned to Beijing." Rong Shi clearly hesitated before changing the subject.

"Huh?" Su Wan was a little confused, not understanding why Rong Shi was telling her this.

After a moment of silence, Rong Shi said, "He likes Su Wan."

Gu Chu understood. Rong Shi was worried that something might happen between Lu Beichuan and Su Wan. After all, the Lu family was not as easy to talk to as the Rong family, and Lu Beichuan was not the only heir of the Lu family.

Gu Chu smiled and said, "I can tell, but don't worry, Wanwan won't like him."

Rong Shi turned back and gave her a deep look: "She likes Shen Baiyan, what about you?"

As soon as he asked the question, Rong Shi regretted it, feeling that he shouldn't have been so abrupt.

"What do you mean?" Gu Chu asked in a deep voice.

Rong Shi said meaningfully, "You helped Jiang Jinyu get the 'Yufeng Project'."

Ever since Gu Chu asked him if he could help her secure the 'Yufeng Project', Rong Shi had been keeping a close eye on its progress. When he learned that Jiang Jinyu had indeed won the 'Yufeng Project', he admitted that he was unhappy.

Because Gu Chu's handiwork was involved, and he knew all of that.

Gu Chu looked at him quietly for a few seconds before saying, "You don't believe me?"

Seeing that Gu Chu's expression was not good, he explained, "No, I'm just curious, why did you help him?"

Gu Chu remained silent, and Rong Shi assumed she was unhappy, so she didn't press the matter further.

When the car arrived at the hotel where Su Wan was staying, Rong Shi stopped the car and was about to get out when Gu Chu suddenly called out to him.

"Give me some time."

"Take a look at this."

Gu Chu took out her phone and showed Rong Shi the video of Jiang Jinyu's promise.

After Rong Shi looked at it, the tense expression on his face relaxed a little.

"If that's the case, why won't you let me make a move?"

Gu Chu pondered for a moment: "Your intervention will only complicate matters further. I'm not genuinely trying to help him; I'm just going with the flow. Ultimately, it's uncertain whether he can actually seize the 'Yufeng Project.'"

Rong Shi understood the implication in her words: "What do you know?"

After Gu Chu finished speaking, she got out of the car. She couldn't wait to see Su Wan.

After a month apart, Su Wan and Gu Chu embraced tightly when they met again.

Rong Shi said goodbye to Su Wan and then left.

When Gu Chu and Su Wan met, they talked about everything until Gu Chu's phone rang around noon.

She answered the phone: "What's up?"

"Have you eaten yet? I know a good private restaurant; you can take Su Wan to try it," Rong Shi said.

"Wait a minute," Gu Chu said, covering her phone and putting it down.

"Wanwan, Rongshi knows a good private restaurant, do you want to go?" Gu Chu asked.

Su Wan declined, saying, "Chu Chu, it's rare for you to come all this way, and my brother-in-law is also busy, so I won't bother you any longer. You should spend some time with him!"

Gu Chu affectionately patted Su Wan's head: "You don't need to try to match us up, I have other arrangements for him."

Seeing that Gu Chu said this, Su Wan said, "Okay, let's go together then."

Gu Chu picked up her phone: "Let's go."

Rong Shi smiled and said, "I'm downstairs."

Gu Chu and Su Wan went downstairs and saw that Rong Shi had changed from his military uniform to casual clothes. Gu Chu glanced at him indifferently, but something felt off.

The three of them arrived at a restaurant called 'Farmhouse Courtyard'. As soon as they entered the restaurant, Su Wan saw a familiar face.

"It's you! Thank you for what happened last time!" Su Wan said gratefully as she stepped forward.

Huang Qijin was also a little surprised to see Su Wan: "It's you. You're too kind. You already thanked me last time."

"You work here?" Su Wan asked.

Huang Qijin smiled and said, "This shop belongs to my classmate. I'm just helping out."

"Then you go ahead and do your work, I won't bother you anymore," Su Wan said.

Gu Chu asked curiously, "Wanwan, who is he?"

“I don’t know his name either, but he helped me last time, the time I encountered a thief,” Su Wan explained. Gu Chu also knew about that incident.

"I understand, that's quite a coincidence." Gu Chu smiled.

"Let's go, I reserved a private room," Rong Shi reminded him.

After the three finished their meal and were about to leave, Su Wan remembered something, walked up to Huang Qijin and smiled, "My name is Su Wan, I don't know your name yet."

Remembering his father's warning, Huang Qijin said, "My name is Huang Jin."

"Yes, Huang Jin, we'll meet again someday!"

After dropping Su Wan off at her hotel, Gu Chu said to Rong Shi, "Take me to see your house."

"I've already hired someone to clean up today, I'll go later!" Rong Shi said.

"Then I'll go keep Wanwan company." Gu Chu turned to leave.

"Gu Chu," Rong Shi called out to her.

Gu Chu turned around.

Rong Shi asked, "Going to the camp?"

Seeing that Rong Shi's expression was a little off, Gu Chu said, "Okay, then let's go!"

The two headed to the camp together, and as soon as they arrived near the camp, Gu Chu spotted a familiar figure in the distance.

"Xiao Yating! She's been bothering you?" Gu Chu turned to ask Rong Shi.

Rong Shi was also puzzled: "No, I haven't seen her since you persuaded her to leave that time."

Gu Chu was taken aback and looked at Rong Shi with a puzzled expression: "How did you know I persuaded her?"

Of course, Rong Shi wouldn't tell Gu Chu that he had been monitoring the gate since that day, and he had even found a subordinate who could read lips to act as his translator. Therefore, he knew every word Gu Chu said to Xiao Yating.
