After transmigrating in one night, Shen Jiao began her new life by attempting an assassination in front of a crowd. She wanted to cry but had no tears, lamenting that she just wasn't cut out fo...
"Support! Support! It's support again!"
Upon returning to his residence, the Third Prince flew into a rage, sweeping all the items on the table to the ground in a frenzy.
The room was filled with the constant clanging and banging of bells, and just by listening to the sounds, you could tell how messy the scene was.
The servants waiting at the door hunched over, their necks hunched, not daring to utter a sound.
The people inside were both angry and laughing.
"From childhood to adulthood, I've either been tasked with assisting the Crown Prince, or I've been on the path to assisting the Crown Prince."
"Now, not only do I have to put up with the whims of a charlatan woman, but even a mere Gu family member... can lord it over me!"
"Why! Why? I'm the prince, hahaha... I'm clearly the prince, hahaha... When are you going to turn around, open your eyes and look at me properly? I'm not that bad!"
The laughter gradually faded, and the birds on the branches perched on them again. The steward gestured for the maid to go inside and tidy up the room.
With a loud bang, the Third Prince opened the door himself.
He was dressed neatly, his hair was tied up, which seemed out of place against the mess behind him.
"Greetings, Three Emperors..." The maids, holding brooms and rags, hurriedly bowed in greeting.
"Drag them all away." The Third Prince raised his hand, signaling the maids to be quiet.
The butler remained calm, as if he were used to it, and replied, "Yes."
Five or six maids turned pale and collapsed to the ground, kowtowing and begging for mercy.
The loud thud of his forehead hitting the ground startled the birds on the branches, causing them to scatter in panic once again.
A maid accidentally touched the hem of the Third Prince's robe. The steward immediately stepped on the back of her hand, ground it hard, and spat on it.
"Bah, you lowly wretch! How dare you beasts touch your master!" the steward reprimanded with a dark face.
He still had his foot on the maid's hand, turned around and asked for a clean handkerchief, then knelt down with a smile to wipe the area on the Third Prince's robe that the maid had touched.
"Third Prince, please don't be angry. This old servant has already dealt with this blind scoundrel."
The Third Prince looked down at the maid who was writhing in pain, clutching her hands.
He spoke calmly: "My beloved dog has been eating dead meat for quite some time now. Let's feed it some live meat this time to change things up."
Being killed outright was like being bitten to death by a ferocious dog. The maids imagined what it would feel like to have their flesh torn apart by sharp teeth, and the more timid ones fainted on the spot.
The few braver ones panicked and ran towards the courtyard gate without looking back.
The steward paid no attention to the runaway maid and didn't even raise his head.
He simply responded with a kind smile, "Yes, this old servant understands."
He wiped the hem of the Third Prince's robe three times over before standing up and waving to a group of guards who had been waiting for a long time.
"Have you heard the Third Prince's request? Let's get started and do something fun to make the Third Prince happy."
...
"Yu'er, can you hear someone shouting for help?"
Shen Qingye was worried that Shen Qingcheng would be anxious if he couldn't find him and Shen Yu, so he stayed in the Third Prince's residence and didn't go out.
Despite his great curiosity about the customs and culture of southern Xinjiang.
Shen Yu sat by the window reading a book. She tilted her head slightly and listened for a while before shaking her head.
"No, Second Brother, you must have misheard. How could someone in the Prince's residence be crying for help?"
"I feel something's not right."
Shen Qingye shook his head. He was a martial arts practitioner, and his hearing was better than that of ordinary people.
He picked up his sword and made a move to walk out, saying, "Yu'er, don't run around in your room. I'm going out to check on things."
"Second Brother." Shen Yu put down her book and quickly stopped Shen Qingye.
"This is the Third Prince's residence. I've heard he has many beautiful concubines. If Second Brother accidentally goes to a place he shouldn't go or sees people he shouldn't see, there will be a big misunderstanding."
Shen Qingye hesitated. Although what he said made a lot of sense, what if someone really was calling for help?
Shen Yu's eyes flickered slightly, and she whispered, "If my eldest brother finds out that my second brother is acting so rashly, he will be angry."
Bringing up Shen Qingcheng worked as expected, and Shen Qingye's expression changed.
His righteous spirit, which was determined to save people from dire straits, immediately vanished.
Shen Qingye opened his mouth, as if he wanted to say something but then stopped.
Seeing Shen Yu's clear, innocent eyes mixed with worry, he ultimately didn't say a word and sat back down in his original seat.
"Yu'er listened carefully and didn't hear anyone shouting for help. Second Brother, do you not believe Yu'er?"
Chen Yu lowered her head, her fingers pinching and kneading the edge of her skirt sleeve.
Shen Qingye was most familiar with Shen Yu's subtle gestures.
Whenever she looks like this, it usually means she's upset and is hinting that he should comfort her.
Shen Qingye shook his head and laughed, then couldn't help but ruffle Shen Yu's hair.
Yu'er really is the cutest little sister in the world.
“What are you saying? Yu’er, think about it carefully. From childhood to adulthood, has your second brother ever disbelieved you? Even if it's Shen Jiao… never mind, why mention her? It's bad luck.”
Shen Yu pursed her lips and said, "It must be because Second Brother has been too worried about Sister these past few days and hasn't rested well, which is why he's having auditory hallucinations. Second Brother, why don't you take a nap?"
Shen Qingqing's face fell: "I'm worried about Shen Jiao? How could that be? I wouldn't worry about a dog even if I were worried about her."
Shen Yu glared at him reproachfully, "Second Brother, how could you say that?"
"Okay, okay, I won't say such things. You're always so kind. Even when Shen Jiao slandered you like that before, you still spoke up for her."
As Shen Qingye spoke, he raised his hands above his head in a gesture of surrender.
“Because…” Shen Yu forced a bitter smile: “Yu’er only has one older sister.”
The more understanding Shen Yu became, the more Shen Qingye magnified Shen Jiao's evil intentions.
He wished he could go to the Gu family, tie up Shen Jiao, and bring her to Shen Yu to kowtow and apologize.
