Chapter 39 The Eggs Found by the Stars

"I'll give you a taste of your own medicine. I'll beat you to a pulp today. If I don't make you submit, I'll change my surname to yours. You tell me if you submit or not. If you don't, I'll beat you every time I see you."

Zhou Wufu sat on Zhou Laosi's calves, preventing him from moving, while Zhou Erfu sat on Zhou Laosi's back, repeatedly punching the back of Zhou Laosi's head.

"Hey, you two little brats, you dare to hit your own uncle! You two wretches, I'll kick you out of the village later!" Zhou Laosi couldn't win an argument with his nephews, so he tried to teach them a lesson. But instead of disciplining his nephews, he was tackled and beaten by his two nephews.

"This is outrageous! Such viciousness at such a young age! He's going to beat your fourth uncle so badly he'll cause internal injuries!" Zhong Mailian, who had been watching the whole thing, was stunned to see her husband suddenly being pinned down and beaten.

However, she quickly came to her senses, glanced at the little girl beside her, squinted her eyes and rushed over, wanting to grab Xingxing and beat her up to vent her anger.

"The bad woman is coming to hit Xingxing, Xingxing has to run away quickly." The little girl muttered to herself as she ran away on her short legs.

Walking on the paddy field ridges was difficult, and she would be caught very quickly, so Xingxing ran directly into the paddy field. Xingxing was a little shorter than the rice seedlings, and she ran into the uncut rice stalks, where only the top of her head could be vaguely seen.

"Hey you brat, why did you have to run off to trample the rice seedlings? You've ruined them all, how are we supposed to harvest them now? You get out here, or I'll sweep this sickle across you!" Zhong Mailian angrily picked up the sickle, her eyes blazing with malice, and quickly chased after Xingxing.

"Hey, where did she go? Where did that brat hide?" Zhong Mailian's sun-tanned, pointed face was full of malice as he swept his sickle across the rice seedlings, hoping to cut that brat.

While Zhou Erfu was hitting Zhou Laosi, he kept an eye on the situation. When he couldn't see Xingxing and saw Zhong Mailian committing the crime, he decisively gave Zhou Laosi a heavy blow and then jumped up and rushed towards Zhong Mailian.

Zhou Wufu also stood up at this moment, swinging a wooden stick, watching Zhou Laosi who was lying motionless on the ground warily. If he saw Zhou Laosi trying to get up, he would swing the stick at him.

Zhou Laosi was so angry that he almost died, and could only lie there pretending to be dead.

“You dared to bully my sister and even tried to hurt her with a sickle? I’ll break your hand!” Zhou Erfu jumped up and kicked Zhong Mailian to the ground, then stepped on her back with one foot.

But before he could throw a punch, Zhao Guihua, who had just arrived, quickly spoke up to stop him. "Erfu, stop! Let go of your fourth aunt!"

Oh dear, this child has beaten up his uncle and aunt again. What will outsiders say about him if word gets out? Does he even care about his reputation? They still have several years before the marriage proposal. He shouldn't be labeled as a thug, vicious, violent, and troublemaker now.

He'll never find a wife, and people will gossip about him behind his back; their spittle could kill him.

Zhou Erfu paused in his hitting motion, reluctantly moved his foot away from Zhong Mailian, took a few steps back sullenly, and then looked around again.

"Little sister, where did you run off to? Your second brother beat up the bad guys for you. Come out now, no one will dare to hit you anymore."

Not long after, a rustling sound came from somewhere in the rice paddy. After the rice seedlings swayed for a while, Xingxing's soft, childlike voice could be heard.

"Second brother, Xingxing is here, come and help me quickly." The little girl seemed to have encountered some trouble.

Everyone was shocked. Not only Zhou Erfu, but also Zhao Guihua, Zhou Laoda, and the other four Fu rushed over, trampling down a field of rice seedlings in their wake.

"Xingxing, my daughter, are you alright? Don't be afraid, Mom is here to save you." Zhao Guihua disregarded everything and pushed aside the rice seedlings to find her daughter as quickly as possible.

When the group finally found the girl, they discovered that she was squatting there obediently, her eyes fixed on a bird's nest among the rice seedlings. Inside the nest were six bird eggs, each slightly smaller than a chicken egg.

The little girl stared intently, refusing to look away, as if the bird eggs would disappear in the blink of an eye.

It was good that everyone was alright. Zhao Guihua and Zhou Laoda finally breathed a sigh of relief, and the quintuplets also breathed a sigh of relief. Then everyone gathered around.

"Daddy, Mommy, Brother, look! So many eggs! Xingxing found them!" Xingxing pointed with her chubby little hand like she was showing off a treasure, revealing eight of her little teeth with a smile, and her two big, round eyes were surprisingly bright.

Looking at her daughter's adorable appearance, Zhao Guihua felt a warmth in her heart and said gently, "It looks like a chicken egg, but unfortunately the chicken was scared away."

The pheasant likes to build nests in rice paddies. Every year during the rice harvest, villagers can find pheasant nests. Sometimes there are eggs in the nests, and sometimes there are already hatched pheasant chicks.

So when they saw the rice chickens, no one was surprised. Zhou Sifu quickly removed the nest, knowing that the nest was doomed to be lost when the rice was harvested.

"Fourth Brother, be careful not to break the eggs." Xingxing swallowed hard. She wanted to eat steamed egg custard. Last time, she had collected more than twenty wild eggs in the mountains, and her mother had steamed them for her.

It was so delicious! She had been craving it ever since she tried it once. Unfortunately, her brothers only found a few bird eggs, which weren't enough to make steamed egg custard. Although Xingxing was tempted, she didn't say she wanted to eat any.

I found a nest of eggs today, so I can make steamed egg custard again! I'm so happy.

Then she actually laughed out loud, "Hehe, so many eggs, such big eggs."

“These chicken eggs belong to our family. The nest they built in our rice paddy is ours. Give me the eggs, and don’t take them away.” Zhong Mailian was disheveled, her clothes covered in mud, her eyes greedily fixed on the chicken coop in Zhou Sifu’s hand.

"That's right, I found it in my field. You can't take it away, you have to give it back to me." Old Zhou walked over, scratching his head and cursing.
