Chapter Twenty: Love and Hate

Feng Yao pursed her lower lip, her face deathly pale, and knelt down at Mu Feiyu's feet with a thud, saying in a trembling voice, "Feng Yao knows she has been utterly foolish..."

"Hmph! You do have a good sense of self-awareness." Mu Feiyu suddenly interrupted her, toying with a piece of glassy jade in her hand. With a casual clench of her fist, the crystal-clear jade immediately turned into a handful of powder.

The jade powder that Mu Feiyu threw on the ground formed an arc, resembling an expression that was mocking Feng Yao.

Feng Yao was almost scared out of her wits. This was the second time she had been turned away, from the Prince Jing's residence to the Regent's residence.

She composed herself, barely managing to remain calm, and gave a guilty smile: "If you, my royal uncle, can spare me this time, I promise to always obey your orders and never betray you."

"Second Miss, you're so eager to pledge your loyalty to me, surely you're not doing this for nothing, are you?" Mu Feiyu glanced at Feng Yao, then curled his lips into a sinister smile: "Speak, what do you want?"

Seeing her opportunity, Feng Yao quickly stepped forward, her face full of excitement: "Even if my royal uncle is all-powerful, he should still have a capable assistant by his side. If my royal uncle doesn't mind that I am a weak woman, I am willing to enter the palace as a concubine and serve you at any time."

Mu Feiyu looked up and saw Feng Yao with a smile on her face. He laughed even louder. From the moment she entered the room, he had guessed that she must have some ulterior motive. So this was what she was planning.

"You know, any task I assign to someone else is never easy to handle. Are you sure you still want to risk your life for me?"

As she finished speaking, Feng Yao and Mu Feiyu exchanged a smile.

A wicked thought quickly crept into her mind: I'm willing to do anything to defeat Feng Jin!

Feng Jin is unaware that because of her outstanding performance at the Holy Banquet, she has become famous throughout the kingdoms at a young age. In addition, she has stirred up a huge uproar with the Crown Prince of Jiang Lan Kingdom and Mu Beichen at Xingyue Tower. From then on, the Jingwang Mansion became famous in the capital city.

It was the season when flowers were in full bloom, and the courtyard was filled with the fragrance of flowers. Feng Jin sat on the swing and swayed gently, but she had no mind to appreciate the scenery. Just thinking about how she had promised Mu Beichen yesterday that she would not see Su Yu made her feel irritable.

For now, the only way to contact Su Yu is through other means.

Just as she was about to get up, Qin Xiangyu bumped into her unexpectedly.

"Yesterday, the Princess Consort was punished by the Prince for going to a brothel with His Highness the Crown Prince. How come she's already enjoying herself so much?" Qin Xiangyu looked gloating, eager to see her make a fool of herself.

Upon hearing this, Feng Jin remained calm and composed, nodding slightly: "Yes, I agree with you, but... the prince just likes to see me looking so energetic, I can't help it!"

Seeing her infuriating expression, Qin Xiangyu was driven to madness. In her rage, she pointed at the other person and yelled without regard for her image.

"Feng Jin, you are shameless! You monopolize the prince's favor and even have the audacity to seduce the crown prince of Jiang Lan Kingdom. A promiscuous woman like you should just die!"

Turning around abruptly and shaking off the other person's entanglement, Feng Jin glanced coldly and sneered, "When did you see me seducing the Crown Prince? You can eat whatever you want, but you can't say whatever you want. Be careful not to bite off more than you can chew!"

Qin Xiangyu, however, pressed on relentlessly, grabbing Feng Jin's wrist and determined to drive her out of the palace.

"Stop deceiving yourself. Your affair with the Crown Prince has already spread throughout the capital. I advise you to leave the Prince Jing's residence as soon as possible and stop tarnishing the Prince's reputation."

With a flick of her arm, she effortlessly shook off Qin Xiangyu, and immediately smiled dismissively: "So what? As long as Your Highness is willing to believe me, that's enough. If you're just jealous and resentful because you're envious, I believe it won't be long before you die with resentment."

"By the way, I see you have quite a lot of free time every day. If you'd like to know more about my romantic escapades, you're welcome to visit Fuxi Courtyard!" She said casually, throwing a flirtatious wink before turning away from Qin Xiangyu's murderous gaze.

From the day Lingzhi was sent away, Feng Jin lost his appetite and couldn't sleep. He waited and waited, and finally, as evening approached, Lingzhi returned.

"How is it? Has he received the message?" she asked anxiously as she gestured for Lingzhi to sit down and have some tea.

"Don't worry, Miss, I've already sent the letter out." Lingzhi took a deep breath and continued to say to Feng Jin, "His Highness the Crown Prince said that you should try not to contact him by letter, as it would be bad if someone had a handle against you. He will send someone to contact you when it is convenient for him."

Upon hearing this, Feng Jin finally felt relieved. She turned around, bowed, and sat down on the chair.

"Okay, I understand. Thank you for your hard work today. Go and get some rest."

When Lingzhi reached the door, she couldn't help but turn around and glance at Feng Jin. She knew she shouldn't be asking about these things, but... recently, the young lady's unfamiliar expression seemed to be becoming more and more common, as if she had completely changed into a different person.

By this time, it was already dark and windy outside. Under the cover of dark clouds, the last trace of moonlight in the night sky was swallowed up without a trace.

Suddenly, a dark figure leaped down from the high wall of the backyard, and then tiptoed along the eaves, quickly finding Feng Jin's room.

Suddenly, she heard the sound of tiles falling outside. Feng Jin immediately put down the koi embroidered handkerchief she was working on and ran quickly towards the door following the sound. She looked up and saw two figures fighting fiercely on the roof.
