[Manor scheming rebirth + sisters swapping marriages + native woman vs. time-traveling woman + scum revenge] Xie Zhaozhao, the eldest daughter of an illustrious family, is gentle, dignified, and ra...
Yin Jin'an was slightly taken aback when she heard that the entire Jade Dragon Kingdom Emperor and his family had arrived.
These past few days, Jiutian has been ill and he's been too stressed. Not to mention Yulong Kingdom, he's also entrusted all the affairs of Qi Kingdom to Wang Can and Gu Bahuang.
It belatedly dawned on me: the Emperor of Jade Dragon Kingdom? The Living Guanyin and Old Man Zhou, are they about to meet?
He said, "I understand."
However, for the first time, the tea he was pouring spilled outside the cup.
Kuangren Chu didn't notice, nor did Jiutian; she was busy showing off to Kuangren Chu the fish her second uncle had caught for her.
"Look, this is a fish-shaped bottle that my second uncle made for me. This is a grass carp, and this is a loach. Loach, have you ever seen one before?"
Madman Chu scoffed, saying, "What's so special about this? I've seen much bigger loaches."
“My second uncle also caught a lot of big ones and gave them to the people outside to eat. I only kept one small one, and I want to raise it to be very big.”
Jiutian said to the madman Chu, "Fish leaping over the Dragon Gate, loaches falling from the dragon. They can all become dragons."
Having lived most of his life, the madman Chu didn't believe in the idea of a mudfish turning into a dragon, but since his master was quite capable, it was possible that a dragon might appear.
"Master, how much longer will you be staying here?"
Jiutian said that once his second uncle's business was finished, he could go back and teach the madman Chu the Thunder-Drawing Technique.
Upon hearing this, the madman Chu wished he could go back the next day.
What else could His Majesty possibly want?
The cities occupied by the Liao Dynasty have been retaken by Gu Bahuang. Is everything alright now?
No, someone has poisoned Master. This matter must be dealt with. He suddenly had an idea, but he couldn't act now.
He used aphrodisiacs to harm his master, and even forbidden techniques. He must have used the most potent poison, poisoning them to the point of being neither dead nor alive.
Ever since hearing that Xie Zhaozhao and the others had come to Qi, Yin Jin'an suddenly felt an overwhelming urge to return home and couldn't bear to stay in Changjin City for even a day longer.
"Long Xiang, we're preparing to return to the capital." He took Jiu Tian in a carriage, with Kuangren Chu and Yang Hanfeng following on horseback, to Zejin City to see his "father-in-law" Zhao Song one last time.
"The only worry on the border is that Changjin City has not found a suitable prefect."
The original prefect and military supervisor were all killed by the Liao army. Yin Jin'an met with several of the subordinate officials and felt that they were somewhat lacking in ability.
They went to Zejin City without informing Zhao Song.
The carriage journey from Changjin City to Zejin City took three hours, but unexpectedly, upon entering Zejin City, they encountered a heated argument at the city gate.
Two people, one tall and one short, were both pulling on a piece of cloth, angrily accusing the other of stealing their cloth.
The tall man said that his mother had worked hard for half a month to weave this cloth, and that she wanted to sell it to buy salt and a few chicks.
The short man said, "This cloth was woven by my wife. She works in the fields, takes care of the children, and cooks during the day, and stays up all night weaving it. How dare you steal my cloth?"
The two insisted on their own version of events, neither letting go of the cloth. In their haste, they started fighting, and the cloth was torn and deformed.
Yin Jin'an ordered the guards to slow down and see how Zhao Song would handle the case.
After waiting for a long time, the yamen runners came out and asked around, but they still couldn't figure out the cause.
Suddenly, a few street urchins around seventeen or eighteen years old came running over. The one in the lead shouted, "What's all the noise about? You're blocking the road, making it impossible for anyone to walk!"
The tall man was extremely anxious and grabbed the cloth, accusing the short man of trying to steal it from him.
The short man said the tall man was going to steal his cloth.
Each held their own version of events, neither willing to back down, and both were bruised and battered.
The street urchin reached out and took the cloth in his hand, waving it and saying, "Since neither of you can give a clear answer, then this cloth is mine."
Both the tall and short men exclaimed, "No way! My mother/wife worked so hard to knit this, how can we let you take it for free?"
"What are we going to do then? You're all making a racket here, making it impossible for people to walk. If everyone in the city were like you, wouldn't it be chaos? Fine, this cloth is mine!"
The two men disagreed and immediately tried to snatch it.
The street thug waved, and a few of his henchmen came over.
"These two are blocking the road. Get them sticks and beat them out."
Anyone who shouts for cloth again will be beaten with a stick.
"You're blatantly robbing me! I'm going to report you to the authorities."
"What are you suing for? You're blocking the road, you can't even let a carriage through the city gates. You try suing us and see if you can win!"
His henchman grabbed a stick and tried to beat the two men, but even as they were being beaten, he refused to leave and shouted that someone was robbing them.
The street urchin chuckled and said, "Since neither of you is satisfied, then how about this: take the scissors and cut the cloth in half, one for each of you. If you're still not satisfied, then the cloth is mine."
The scoundrel was quick and efficient; he cut the cloth in half and threw it to them, saying, "Here, I've cut it for you. Half for each of you. Hurry up and get going, don't block the road."
The tall man and the short man each took half of the cloth and left. The street urchin said to his underlings, "Go, you two follow them and tell me when you get back."
Before long, the two street thugs brought the tall man and the short man back.
A street urchin said, "Ah Wei, this short guy is a thief. He's overjoyed to have taken half a piece of cloth, saying he's made a free piece and can make several clothes."
Another street urchin said, "This guy was squatting on the side of the street selling cloth with a long face. He was so sad about how to tell his mother that he lost the other half of the cloth."
Ah Wei cursed, "Damn it, ugly as an idiot and black-hearted! Brothers, take all the coins out of his pocket and give them to this guy."
He gave the tall man half of the cloth, and took a few copper coins from the short man's pocket and gave them to the tall man.
The tall man bowed to Awei excitedly, saying, "Thank you, Brother Li."
