However, its excessive size and square shape make it look like a stone platform.

Inside the stone platform lay a mummy wrapped in bandages.

Even after all these years, the bandages on this mummy are still as white as snow, as if it had just been buried.

Cao Kun knew that this was most likely a tactic employed by the High Priest.

Just as Cao Kun was about to reach out and touch the mummy in the stone coffin, a loud shout came from mid-air: "You dare?"

Immediately, the giant sand creature, ignoring the attacks from the souls and the rapidly falling sand, charged towards Cao Kun, enduring the onslaught.

Cao Kun flicked his hand, and the Ten Thousand Souls Banner flew into the air.

As Cao Kun made hand seals and chanted incantations, the Myriad Soul Banner suddenly emitted a tremendous suction force, enveloping the giant of yellow sand.

The giant of the yellow sands paused, and its speed suddenly slowed down.

The current level of the Myriad Soul Banner is not high enough to directly absorb the High Priest's soul, but it can still restrain him.

"No," the sand tycoon pleaded, "No, I'll do as you say."

The sand giants ceased their attacks.

Although the exchange was brief, Cao Kun had actually used about 90% of his strength.

At best, he could only manage a draw against a high priest who wasn't at his peak, and was even slightly at a disadvantage.

After all, this is an underground space.

If the enemy were to run into the desert and launch a sandstorm attack, Cao Kun would not be able to withstand it.

However, Cao Kun knew the High Priest's greatest weakness—Anshunam.

In the movie, High Priest Imhotep and Ansunam are deeply in love.

In the second part, Ansunam tries every means to resurrect the High Priest.

The high priest betrayed the pharaoh for Anshunam and was tortured by worms.

Even three thousand years later, he still loves her and would do anything for her.

Ansunam also seemed to love Imhotep, but in the final moment of life and death, she wavered.

She chose to abandon Imhotep and flee for her life alone.

However, she did not escape in the end; instead, she fell into the swarm of scarabs and was completely destroyed.

Currently, the timeline hasn't reached that point yet, and Imhotep doesn't know what Ansunam will do to him.

His love for her remained unwavering until death, and he was willing to sacrifice himself for it.

This is also one of the reasons why Cao Kun dared to come to Egypt and face the high priest.

Cao Kun grabbed the mummy's head and said coldly, "Get rid of the yellow sand state."

Imhotep dared not refuse. The giant sand shook, and the sand fell away, revealing his true form.

"Do not harm Ansunam."

Imhotep strode over, only to be shouted at by Cao Kun: "Stop! If you come any closer, I'll crush her head right now."

“No, I won’t go, I won’t go,” Imhotep pleaded. “Let her go, you can leave. I will no longer be your enemy, nor will I kill any more of your people.”

Cao Kun sneered: "Answer my question first."

Imhotep nodded repeatedly: "Go ahead and ask."

Cao Kun: "You said before that you felt a force calling to you, is that true?"

Imhotep hurriedly said, "It's true. Everything I told you before was true. Except for hiding some of my strength, you still saw through it."

Cao Kun frowned involuntarily.

So, the Mummy crew really did find something appealing in the face of the same horror that mirrored reality.

His casual ramblings about being on the same wavelength being attracted to each other are actually true.

Cao Kun thought all of this was utter nonsense.

But the facts were right in front of him, and he had no choice but to believe them.

Does that mean that if similar horror movies are made in the future, they will attract the same kind of horror?

That would be interesting.

Cao Kun then asked, "Do you know about the Scorpion Emperor?"

Imhotep: "I've heard some of the stories, but I don't know much about them."

Scorpion King is the main boss in The Mummy 2.

Imhotep was a man of some stature, but upon meeting the Scorpion King, he immediately submitted and willingly became his subordinate.

But it seems that Easton doesn't know much about this Scorpion King.

Cao Kun speculated that some changes might only occur after the second part reflects reality.

Cao Kun: "Do you know where Hamunaptra, the City of the Dead, is?"

Imhotep: "Without such a city, Thebes would be the city of a thousand gates, no city more magnificent than Thebes. I just never imagined it would turn out like this."

Ignoring the sadness in Imhotep's tone, Cao Kun continued, "Where is the Pharaoh's treasure?"

Imhotep sighed, “No, it’s gone. I went to explore it after I woke up, and it was empty. There’s nothing there.”

Cao Kun stared at Imhotep for a few moments and thought it must be true.

If the city of the dead, Hamunaptra, in the movie doesn't exist, then only Thebes remains, which has already been thoroughly explored.

Even if the Pharaoh left behind treasures, they were already taken away by the Egyptian government.

Cao Kun said in a deep voice, "You better not be lying to me, otherwise, I don't mind twisting Ansunam's head off and kicking it like a ball."
