When Yin and Yang interact, all things are born. All things born from Heaven and Earth also possess both Yin and Yang. The sun is Yang, the moon is light, life is Yang, death is light, male is Yang, female is Yin, fire is Yang, and water is Yin.

The five elements—Qian, Dui, Li, Zhen, Xun, Kan, Gen, and Kun—represent both Yang and brightness, encompassing the Yin and Yang aspects of all things.

Yin and Yang are not static. When the sun is on one side of the mountain, it is Yang on the other side and Yin on the other side. When the sun moves to the other side of the mountain, it becomes Yang on the other side and Yin on the other side. Yin and Yang also interact, combine, influence, oppose, complement, restrain, and generate each other.

Heaven and earth are positioned, mountains and lakes communicate, wind and thunder are in harmony, and water and fire do not clash.

Fortune tellers divide Yin and Yang into Heavenly Stems and Earthly Branches, then combine them with the Five Elements, the Four Seasons, directions, and zodiac signs to calculate the timing, location, and destiny.
