Yandere is contagious

When Yan Kui ran back into the house in a disheveled state, the familiar greetings she was used to received did not arrive as expected.

The house was dark, with only the floor lamps and wall lamps in the hallway providing light. Running inside, the light was even more unsettling than the thunder and rain outside.

Yan Kui raised her hand to wipe away the water that was blocking her vision. She couldn't tell if it was tears or rain. She used to laugh at the screenwriters for using tired tropes when she watched TV, but she never expected that she would become the main character in the center of this melodramatic story.

Thinking about what had happened today, she choked up again. She reached out to turn on the light in the entryway, wanting to call out to Aunt Zhou, but then suddenly remembered that today was Aunt Zhou's day off.

Shivering, Yan Kui's mind was in a mess. She closed the door behind her, but then heard a male voice in the darkness ahead that made her headache even worse.

"You're back so early? I thought you and your doctor boyfriend would be out until at least tomorrow."

Yan Kui took a deep breath and called out, "Turn on the lights!"

As the lights came on, Shen Xiuyan leaned against the stair railing. The darkness above and the light in the living room drew a line across his face, and his eyes were hidden in the darkness, making it even harder for Yan Kui to see him clearly.

Normally, Yan Kui would casually respond with a couple of words, then quickly avoid him.

But today, she didn't even have the strength to respond.

She was going to sleep—no, she wanted to take a nice hot bath first, then go to sleep, hoping to forget everything by morning.

Shen Xiuyan watched as her dark pupils gazed deeply at him, then she walked towards him like a walking corpse, as if she hadn't heard anything.

As Yan Kui passed by him, Shen Xiuyan grabbed her arm, feeling her subconscious trembling, and smiled as he spoke.

"What's wrong, little sister?"

Upon hearing the name of her younger sister, Yan Kui trembled even more violently. She blinked involuntarily, tears welling up in her eyes, but she held back from crying in front of Shen Xiuyan.

Crying in front of him is worse than letting her end it all right there in the first place.

Yan Kui sneered, turned to look at him, and said nothing.

Seeing her sharp expression, Shen Xiuyan frowned, and a malicious smile crept onto his lips.

"Let me think about what's wrong with you... Are you feeling depraved because you did something you shouldn't have done with a doctor who's more than ten years older than you, or are you ashamed because you found out that this doctor has a wife and daughter? Or maybe his wife came to your door today and caught you doing something that made you feel utterly ashamed."

"Shut up!"

Having her secret exposed, Yan Kui didn't even have time to think about how he knew these things before yelling at him.

"He lied to me! He's a piece of scum!"

Shen Xiuyan raised an eyebrow and said, "He's a scumbag, but you still fooled around with him for two months."

Yan Kui suddenly burst out laughing, staring intently at him. "Let me tell you, Shen Xiuyan, no matter how filthy I am, I can't compare to you. You're a bastard filthy to the core!"

The arm that was being held throbbed with pain. Shen Xiuyan tightened his grip, staring into her eyes. His smile was clearly warm, yet there was a hint of unbridled arrogance in it. "Don't you already know who I am?"

"Yeah, you're a madman."

Yan Kui suddenly quieted down, raised her hand, placed it on the hand that Shen Xiuyan was holding, and slowly let go of his hand.

However, just as she was about to let go, Shen Xiuyan's hand suddenly grabbed her again with force. Yan Kui tried to break free, but the more she struggled, the stronger the grip became.

Unable to bear it any longer, Yan Kui lowered her head and slammed it against him, then picked up a vase and smashed it against him!

"I'm not the same person I was as a child anymore. If you still want to use the same old methods on me, you're dreaming. I've grown up, and I'm the master of this house now!"

She smashed the vase against the wall next to him again, and the already broken vase shattered once more. The shards grazed Shen Xiuyan's face, and blood slowly seeped from the wound.

"Yan Kui, I'm so glad you've finally found yourself."

Shen Xiuyan ignored his wound and tried to get closer to her, but Yan Kui shoved a vase in front of his face and shouted, "Shut up! You're crazy! What I look like is none of your business!"

After she finished speaking, she threw the vase aside and warned Shen Xiuyan, "Tell Mom what happened tonight if you want. I don't care anymore. Do whatever you want."

She turned to the side, gave Shen Xiuyan a wary look, and quickly returned to her room, locking the door behind her.

After locking the door, she seemed to have finally found a quiet space to vent her emotions. She collapsed to the floor and began to cry silently and uncontrollably.

After crying until she was exhausted and her emotions were completely depleted, Yan Kui numbly went to wash up. By the time she left the bathroom, she was almost completely exhausted. She opened the door and just wanted to collapse onto the bed and rest.

As Yan Kui lay down on the bed, she thought she would fall asleep quickly, since the sound of rain was very soothing, and she used to love sleeping on rainy days.

But so much happened tonight, she can't sleep, she really can't sleep.

Yan Kui sat up, poured herself a glass of water, and then took out a medicine bottle.

As she poured out the pills, her gaze lingered on the medicine bottle for a long time.

The sound of rain outside the window grew louder and louder. In the last moment before all her senses disappeared, Yan Kui seemed to hear a familiar voice amidst the sound of rain.

Shen Xiuyan.
