Chapter 9, Chapter 9 begins with writing scribbles.
As the siblings' curious gaze swept over, people across the street also looked over.
Many people were disappointed when they saw the two children dressed as herdsmen.
Four carts, spaced not far apart, drove up to us.
The man in the lead car cracked his whip and saw a familiar old friend waving at him.
"Mauisige, what are you doing herding livestock here?"
As the first car stopped, the rest of the people stared blankly at the car in front of them.
When Ani heard the man call him, he looked at him carefully.
"Oh, it's you, Old Batu. What are you doing here?"
When Old Batu saw him coming over, he quickly gestured for the other three cars to pull over.
He then called out to the rear, "Let's rest for a bit, let the horses catch their breath, and then we'll continue on our way."
As he spoke, everyone started to move.
Three local young men told them to get out of the car immediately.
The group of men, women, and children who were forced off the bus stood there somewhat awkwardly.
Their attitude changed drastically when they saw those men turn around and tend to the livestock.
Some of the young women felt wronged and began to wipe away their tears.
"Mom, look, they didn't chase the people off the road, but instead took care of the horses."
"This is absolutely outrageous!"
"Exactly, are they really inferior to horses?"
The middle-aged woman hurriedly pulled her daughter away and was about to cover her mouth.
A middle-aged man, seeing the discontent on many people's faces, explained, "These herdsmen treat horses like friends and value them highly." He didn't finish his sentence.
Upon hearing this, the others stopped complaining.
However, what they are thinking is truly unknown.
As one group of people and vehicles moved to the side, the rest of the group followed.
The middle-aged people and a few elderly people found an open space and sat down to rest. The younger generation followed suit, and everyone gathered together.
Looking around at the unfamiliar surroundings, the summer wind blew on my face, bringing with it a lot of dust and grit.
The slap stung the person's face!
"Mom and Dad, where are we going? We're getting further and further astray," the young woman said to her parents, her voice trembling with tears.
The parents were also distressed. Looking at the desolate and uninhabited area, they were at a loss for words.
The father's eyes were vacant, and he seemed dazed. The mother could only hold her and cry together.
When a child is held in the arms of an elder, hearing the crying, they also start to cry.
Before long, apart from the numb elderly and middle-aged men, everyone else in the area began to wipe away tears to varying degrees.
They wept over the uncertain future, the hardships of life, and the dramatic changes in their lives!
Luo Yin, who had been standing to the side for a while, looked at her second brother with a shocked expression.
"Second brother, why are those people crying?"
Mu Ren looked across at the other side, then at her. "I don't know."
Luo Yin noticed that the people getting out of the car looked different from them; they all seemed much better-looking. Seeing them crying, she started asking them why they were crying.
After thinking for a moment, he pulled his second brother around to the group of young people.
"Hello, I am Luo Yin, and this is my second brother, Mu Ren."
The young people were taken aback when they saw the two children greeting them.
But after seeing Mu Ren and her attire, his expression improved considerably.
"Hello, are you in trouble?"
The herders are generally very friendly to each other and are always willing to help each other out, no matter what happens.
"No, no, we're perfectly fine. We just wanted to ask what those people do?" Luo Yin asked curiously, pointing at the men, women, and children.
The young men were surprised that she would ask that question.
One of the young men, even taller than the older brother, leaned against the car, chewing on dried meat, and said calmly, "They're sent down from above to build the farm; they're all from big cities."
"Wow, that's amazing!"
Wow, how many people would that be?
The brother and sister spoke one after the other, their voices filled with emotion.
Another, more robust young man said coldly, "What's so great about it? My father said they're all people who made mistakes, and they're here on the farm to be reformed."
"ah?"
The brother and sister were shocked to hear the completely opposite interpretation.
The young man next to him winked at him, but he ignored him and kept glancing at the group as he spoke.
He repeated what his father had said without any hesitation, speaking in Mongolian.
"So, they're all big bad guys?"
"They're so mean."
The man nodded in agreement. "That's right!"
Luo Yin was extremely surprised, and she and her second brother would occasionally glare at them from that direction.
They had already noticed someone staring at them, and the middle-aged man who happened to receive that gaze looked surprised when he saw that it was two children.
Several elderly professors with white hair looked utterly dejected upon seeing this scene.
They naturally noticed the two children, glancing at them from time to time while talking to the young men, and then they saw displeasure in their eyes.
Luo Yin's mouth dropped open. "Those kids are little rascals too?"
Mu Ren nodded and looked at him.
"This, this must be a mistake, at least that's what my father said. Whose family are you? You've already asked me all these questions."
Mu Ren reacted quickly; seeing him walking this way, he grabbed Luo Yin and ran.
The two ran off in no time, leaving the remaining youths speechless.
They weren't really going to fight; they were just at a loss for words after being asked by this girl.
"Murenluoyin, come here!"
The brother and sister were called over by Ani shortly afterward.
After meeting Batuani, the rickshaw drove further north under the watchful eyes of the three men.
This matter didn't stay on their minds for long; it was quickly overshadowed by other things.
What they were worried about was that their eldest brother's elementary school graduation results had come out.
My older brother successfully passed the entrance exam for the town's junior high school, scoring more than 20 points above the cutoff.
However, the junior high school in the town was originally set up for the children of herders, and the difficulty level is not very high. As long as you pass the score line, you can basically get in.
But the family was very happy, because the eldest brother would soon be able to go to junior high school.
Barth hunted a lot of wild game for this and even slaughtered a sheep to celebrate.
Luo Yin and her second brother were overjoyed and immediately followed Bart around, helping to hand him knives and fetch water.
The sheep droppings were quickly disposed of, and a campfire was lit.
Mother prepared buttered pastries and milk tea, while a large pot of meat was stewing in the pot, and a whole roasted lamb was constantly turning over the fire.
The family had a good meal that day, and even Ani drank alcohol, which was unusual for him.
With the older brother's school arrangements finalized, the two younger children spent the rest of the holiday with him.
The study task that their father specially assigned to their eldest brother, Luo Yin and Mu Ren, began their daily morning and evening study sessions.
Compared to her second brother's suffering, Luo Yin's interest outweighed everything else.
She was very excited, and with the notebook and pencil her older brother had given her, she started scribbling.
She started by learning numbers, which Luo Yin thought was very simple.
But when her older brother wrote down the numbers 1-10 in the notebook, Luo Yin was dumbfounded.
She hadn't thought that far ahead. Her second brother, standing next to her, covered his mouth and chuckled, feeling that his little sister finally understood his discomfort.
But Luo Yin gritted her teeth and drew it, imitating her older brother's notes.
The first time it didn't look quite right, but the second time it was pretty much there.
"It's not difficult at all!"
Luo Yin walked past her second brother with her little face raised.
The second brother huffed, "Hmph, if you're so capable, you should learn to write first."
Hada saw that she was much smarter than the second child, so she was even happier teaching her. Sure enough, after checking that everything was correct, she began to teach her simple characters, starting with her name, followed by the names of her family members.
"Once you've learned the names of your family members, I'll teach you the others."
Luo Yin glanced at her second brother, then patted her chest and said boldly.
"No problem, I'll definitely learn it quickly!"
She was quickly proven wrong.
Because that afternoon, Bart went home early to bring back some news.
“Your uncle’s eldest brother, Zhebu, has a child. They sent word that we should come and stay with him for a while.”
"Really? That's wonderful!" Urina was the happiest; the birth of a newborn in her maternal family was the most joyous occasion.
The herders on the grasslands value the birth of a child, and she thought about what to pack to take with her.
Ani was also smiling beside him, saying that this season is a good time to be born.
Luo Yin listened in a daze, but after understanding, she jumped for joy.
"That's great, she's finally not the youngest child anymore." And it seems like Dad is talking about the uncle who gave us the pony. Are we going to visit him?
When her father heard her question, he nodded affirmatively.
“That’s right, our whole family is going. I bet Huahua hasn’t been there before. The Dongzhumuqin Grassland is also very beautiful.”
"Really? That's amazing!"
Mu Ren pulled Luo Yin along and, after thinking for a moment, began to tell her about the places he had visited before.
"There are mountains and lakes over there, we can go there to catch fish."
The older brother agreed, saying, "Indeed, hunting is easier over there."
"Yay! Second brother, let's pack our things and go quickly."
Seeing the children's joyful expressions, Urina managed to calm herself down.
"Alright, before you go, you have to be good and take care of things at home."
"Yes, yes, we'll be good."
"Mom, let me help you."
The three of them responded in unison, indicating that they would help.
What else could Urina do? She accepted the help of three child laborers, and things became much easier.
After getting up early to finish their tasks and preparing food for Ani, the five of them packed their bags and set off.
The family chose a beautiful day to set off, and Ani watched them leave from behind.
This time, Luo Yin did not ride alone; she rode with her mother.
Father, eldest brother, and second brother each ride a horse.
Luo Yin was extremely envious, but her father said the journey was long and he was afraid she wouldn't be able to keep up and might have an accident, so he refused to let her ride alone.
Since no one else in the family objected, she had no choice but to go with her mother.
However, her expression changed after she got on the horse; her mother was a very good rider.
The horse was fast, yet it didn't make her feel uncomfortable from being jostled around.
After running for a while, Luo Yin had adapted and even smugly shouted to her second brother, determined to see who could run faster.
The second brother watched as a gust of wind swept past his little sister, and he could only see his mother's back.
But Father and eldest brother had already run ahead.
He pulled on the reins, tightened the reins, and propelled the horse forward. "Wait for me!"
The family drove north, chatting and laughing all the way.
Time flew by, and we even stopped to rest for a while along the way to take care of personal matters before continuing our journey.
Looking at the sea of golden-orange flowers, Luo Yin longed to rush over.
Mother rushed over like a gust of wind.
And so, accompanied by the fragrance of flowers, petals drifted down and scattered.
"Waaaaah~"
Loin shouted excitedly, occasionally spreading her arms wide.
Urina would only warn her when she was in danger, and then leave her to her own devices.
"Waaaaaah~"
"This place is so beautiful!"
