Chapter 5 Save...Save a Life
General Buddy is currently the highest-ranking officer in the army, and he and Pion have a fairly good personal relationship. Recently, Pion has felt that he is getting old and should retire to enjoy life, so he intends to pass on his network of connections to the next generation.
“Okay.” Shanla stood there respectfully.
Qi Qi followed the groom to greet the guests, while Momo remained seated, feeling a bit bored, and listened to Pi Weng and the others chatting idly.
Because of the distance and the fact that the two were speaking Thai with a local dialect, Momo could only vaguely understand most of what they were saying.
Who is Pason? He sounds like he's close to Grandpa Pion, but not really.
Momo eventually stopped listening to him. After saying goodbye to Grandpa Pi, she got up and went for a walk. She ate very little for dinner because the food here was not to her liking and she couldn't swallow it at all.
So when she saw the delicate little cake on the table, her eyes lit up immediately, and she ran over, lifting her skirt.
Holding an orange-flavored cake in my hand, my eyes then fell on the rose cake, green grape cake, and black truffle cake on the table next to me...
After hesitating for a while, Momo decided to take another green grape, adhering to the principle of not wasting food. She would try the others after finishing the two she had.
Anyway, no one's going to take it from me. Everyone's busy toasting and socializing around me. Nobody cares whether the cake tastes good or not except me.
She walked forward, holding one in each hand, and deliberately found a quiet place to sit and eat.
Green grapes are better than oranges; they're sweet but not cloying, with a refreshing and sweet taste. She liked them very much and wanted to eat another one, but she was a little embarrassed.
She subconsciously glanced around, as if no one could see her.
So she secretly ran over there again.
I picked up a green grape and was planning to try a black truffle one next.
Just as her hand touched the bottom of the box, she suddenly felt a chill down her spine as a large hand slapped heavily on her shoulder.
"Hey, you seem to be enjoying your meal."
That sound...
She immediately thought of the note from that afternoon.
Momo froze instantly, quickly pulled her hand back, and looked back.
Fu Yungui had changed his clothes, but he was still wearing a loose shirt, only this time it was green. Momo thought the V-neck on his shirt should be plunging all the way to his waist.
She saw the scar on his pectoral muscle that snaked upwards from the lower right corner, like a gnarled branch spreading across his taut skin, with a tiny red dot peeking out at the end of the scar, like a flower petal.
Most of it was covered by her shirt, so Momo couldn't see it clearly, but it looked a bit like a birthmark.
"Does it look good? Should I pull it down a little more for you?"
As Fu Yungui spoke, he generously pulled her shirt down a bit.
Momo immediately snapped out of her reverie about his chest muscles, blushed, and shook her head.
"I didn't mean to."
She was wronged. It wasn't that she wanted to see it; it was just that she could see it at eye level, and the exposed area was simply impossible to ignore.
Fu Yungui raised an eyebrow upon hearing this, "You didn't do it on purpose, you didn't read it on purpose, so throwing away that note this afternoon wasn't on purpose either?"
Momo gasped. How did he know she had thrown the note away?
Could it be that he's monitoring me?
However, after thinking about it carefully, she realized that the probability was very small. Because she was timid, she was always very vigilant. When she arrived at any unfamiliar place, the first thing she did was to check for listening devices. So when she moved into her own house, she had already checked it and found nothing suspicious.
"Um... about what happened this afternoon, I really didn't mean to. When I received the note, Qiqi was looking for me, so I couldn't go. Besides, the address you gave me is quite far from here."
She tried to explain it to him patiently, but she felt there was little chance he would listen.
Fu Yungui leaned closer to her, his handsome face magnified in her vision. He curled the corners of his lips, but the smile never reached his eyes.
"I told you this afternoon that it was your last chance. I never listen to anyone's nonsense."
Before Momo could react, his large hand grabbed her shoulder and then pinched the back of her neck. Because of the size difference between them, Momo was lifted up like a chick and dragged into the surrounding darkness.
"save……"
Before she could even utter a cry for help, his other hand tightly covered her lips, preventing Momo from making a sound. She could only struggle desperately.
Unfortunately, her little bit of strength was like a pebble falling into water in front of Fu Yungui; it could only create a ripple, not a big wave.
The green grape cake in her hand was smashed into tiny pieces, staining her misty blue dress so badly that it was unrecognizable, with cream sticking everywhere.
"Shut up, little girl."
Fu Yungui reached out and patted her bottom, saying casually.
Momo was both ashamed and scared, and kept kicking her legs against him.
At the very center of the ball, the opening music had already started, and the lights were flashing. In an instant, the people who were scattered around gathered in the middle, and Momo felt that the surroundings around her were even darker now.
Fu Yungui tossed the person in his hand to Anu, who was waiting for him there, and slightly raised his chin, indicating that he should take the person away.
"Let me go." Taking advantage of the brief moment when she was free from Fu Yungui's control, she still cried out desperately, with a sliver of hope that they would let her go.
Anu nodded expressionlessly at Fu Yungui, frowned slightly as he looked at the person moving around under his control, knocked the person unconscious with an elbow strike, and then carried him away on his shoulder.
Fu Yungui pulled out the sunglasses that were stuck on his shirt and put them on. He glanced at the person on Anu's shoulder, whose whole body slumped down. He was still clutching the green grape cake box he had just taken. The cake inside was almost all crumbs.
It must be incredibly delicious that she didn't throw it away even when she was so scared, and now she can't bear to throw away the box.
He strolled over slowly, picked up a piece from the table, used his fork to pick out a piece, and put it in his mouth. After putting it in his mouth, he immediately frowned; the milky flavor was too strong, and he didn't like it.
He simply threw the rest away.
"Pasong...!"
He was about to leave with his hands in his pockets when he heard someone call his name from behind.
You can tell who it is just by their voice.
He paused for a moment, then, not wanting to pay any more attention, simply turned and left.
"You brat!" Pi Weng was furious at his lazy and listless appearance, so he ordered his men to stop him.
Fu Yungui stopped in his tracks, looking at Shanla standing in front of him. If there was one person in this family he cared about, it was probably Shanla.
This old man, about the same age as Pi Weng, had been living in the manor for many years and was the kindest person to Fu Yungui in the manor.
“Pasong, don’t go against your father.”
Fu Yungui didn't say anything and walked straight past him toward Pi Weng.
