Fourth Miss Meng

"Can you do it?" the man asked, knitting his brows.

"How would I know if I don't try?" the woman replied sincerely.

"What do you want?" the man asked playful...

Chapter 213 King Jing's Exit (I)

Meng Qi was delighted with Song Chengze's decision. Why take a detour when there was a chance to take him down directly? Furthermore, in his previous life, Song Chengze had been so humble, yet the Crown Prince had still forced him into that state. In this life, the two had already fallen out, and the Crown Prince had already harbored murderous intent. Even the most vigilant defenses could still lead to loopholes.

There was just one thing she didn't understand. Now that the decision had been made, Song Chengze's plans would change and he would be even busier. But why did he move to the inner courtyard to recuperate?

It would be fine to go back to the inner courtyard, or to go to Bibo Hall, where you can see whoever you want and get whatever you want done. What did he mean by bringing himself to Jing'an Garden?

Seeing Zhang Decheng and Hu Changsheng happily directing the eunuchs in the outer courtyard to move Song Chengze's things to the west room one by one, Meng Qi felt a headache.

After waiting for the last screen to be moved in, Zhang Decheng stepped forward, hunched over, "This old servant still needs to keep an eye on things outside. Princess, please find a place for this boy to live so that he can serve the prince all the time."

Hu Changsheng looked at her with a smile on his face. Meng Qi stroked the throbbing veins on his forehead and asked Yuan Dong to clean up the room in the west wing where Song Bairan and the other two maids had lived.

Seeing Hu Changsheng following behind Yuan Dong with a fawning look on his face, calling her "sister" all the time, Meng Qi turned to look at Zhang Decheng, "What does the prince mean?"

Zhang Decheng blinked his innocent eyes and said, "I don't understand what the princess means."

Meng Qi wanted to say something but suddenly lost interest. She waved her hand and walked back to the main room. She stood in the middle hall, thought for a while, and walked towards the west room.

As they were walking across from each other, Song Yu looked troubled. He bowed and said softly, "I don't usually bother you, Princess. If anything happens, you still have to return to Bibo Hall."

Meng Qi breathed a sigh of relief. She'd said, this is the inner chamber. The eunuchs were fine, Song Yu and Lu Jinzhou, even Chu Yong and Dong Hai were fine, but what about the others? They couldn't just keep going in and out of Jing'an Garden. That would be disastrous.

Meng Qi walked into the room. The young eunuch was about to change the dressing for Song Chengze. Song Chengze saw Meng Qi coming in and said, "Teach the princess how to do it. From now on, the princess will be the one to change the dressing."

Meng Qi couldn't believe her ears. What did Song Chengze say? He wanted her to change the dressing in the future? How could she do that?

The young eunuch respectfully demonstrated to Meng Qi, describing each of the bottles on the table one by one. Song Chengze looked at Meng Qi's bewildered expression and smiled faintly, "Don't worry, you're so smart, you'll remember it after just two looks."

Meng Qi rolled her eyes in her heart. Who needs to remember all this?

"I'm stupid. The usage and dosage of your medicine are different. Don't make the mistake again. If you delay the treatment, it will be bad."

Song Chengze waved at the young eunuch, squinting his eyes and saying with a half-smile, "What about the one that wipes the back? Can't we make a mistake?"

After saying that, he picked up a small blue bottle from the table and handed it to Meng Qi, "Princess, please take the trouble to help me wipe it and massage it for a little while."

What? One stick of incense? Just pay it back?

Meng Qifei slumped over but said nothing. She took the bottle and opened the cork, and a pleasant, light herbal scent filled the air.

Meng Qi naturally knew how to use this ointment. She scooped a piece into her palm and rubbed her hands gently. When she felt a slight warmth, she walked behind Song Chengze.

At this time, Song Chengze was shirtless, with a strap wrapped from his left shoulder to his right armpit, which had been applied with medicine by the young eunuch.

Besides the one that needed bandaging, there were three more obvious scars, already scabbed over and tinged pink, and several more scratches, probably from falling or being pulled up from the cliff.

Meng Qi placed her hand on Song Chengze's more obvious wound and gently massaged it. Song Chengze narrowed his eyes and asked, "Does it look scary?"

Meng Qi shook her head before realizing she was standing behind him. She then said softly, "It's not scary. Judging from the condition, he should be fine in ten days or so."

"Then I'll trouble you for the next ten days, Princess." Song Chengze said softly.

Meng Qi paused, then continued to rub gently. After a moment's thought, she said, "Is it convenient for the prince to live in Jing'an Garden?"

"What do you mean? Isn't Jing'an Garden my main residence in the inner courtyard? Why is it inconvenient for me to return to my own courtyard? Or do you think it's inconvenient for you to live here, Princess?"

When Song Chengze said this, he wanted to look back at her, but Meng Qi stopped him with her hand.

"That's not what I meant. I was just worried that it would be inconvenient for you to give instructions here."

Song Chengze nodded, "It's indeed inconvenient."

Meng Qi was delighted and was about to respond when Song Chengze said slowly and quietly, "Why don't you ask the princess to move to Bibo Hall?"

Meng Qi cried out, and stopped what she was doing. "What do you mean, Your Highness?"

"Since it's inconvenient in Jing'an Garden, let's go to Bibo Hall. But my back still needs the princess to apply medicine."

Meng Qi asked, "Why? Doesn't Bibo Hall have servants?"

"How can they compare to the princess? If the princess applies medicine to the king every day, I believe it won't take ten days, maybe eight or nine days to recover."

Meng Qi couldn't refute what he said, but the strength of her hands increased, causing Song Chengze to chuckle, "Princess, your hands are really strong. If you keep applying medicine like this every day, I'm afraid it will take more than two dozen days for my husband to recover."

Meng Qi blushed, clapped her hands, picked up Song Chengze's underwear on the table and put it on him.

"Are all the arrangements for King Jing ready?" Song Chengze asked himself as he watched Meng Qi collect the bottles on the table. He then put away his previous expression and said in a deep voice, "The preliminary arrangements have already begun. Now we need two more opportunities."
