Chapter 17 Beijing Amusement Park

Huang Bo came out of the kitchen wearing an apron.

"Dinner's ready!!!"

Upon hearing this, Xiao Ou went into the kitchen and placed the dishes Huang Bo had prepared on the stone table in the courtyard.

Braised young chicken, stir-fried loach with garlic sprouts, drunken crab, steamed sea bass, spicy clams, smashed cucumber, stir-fried romaine lettuce, and a seaweed and egg soup.

Liu Qianqian smelled the aroma and looked at Huang Bo: "(⊙o⊙) Wow, weird uncle, your cooking smells so good!"

Huang Bo said proudly, "That's right, I used to run a restaurant."

Shen Fang looked at Huang Bo in surprise: "Brother Bo, you used to be a cook too?"

Xiao Ou took out some Tsingtao beer and handed it to everyone, and poured a glass of cola for Liu Qianqian.

"Xiao Bo has done a lot of things. He has been a chef, a singer, a dance instructor, and even owned a factory."

Liu Qianqian exclaimed, "Wow, Uncle Huang Bo, you're so amazing! You were a dance instructor too?"

Huang Bo picked up a beer bottle, poured himself a beer, and took a sip: "Uncle, I've been through a lot. When I was young, I loved singing and dancing. Later, I formed a group with a few buddies called 'Blue Wind and Sand.' We were quite well-known back then, doing commercial performances everywhere. Later, I signed with Pacific Records and released a few albums, but they didn't have much impact. Not many people listened to them, so I quit. After that, I became a dancer. During that time, I also opened a factory, which went fairly smoothly. Then, by chance, I met Director Guan Hu and got a role. Get in the car, let's go."

"Since then, I have fallen in love with acting and have been determined to become an actor. With Xiao Ou's encouragement and support, I have embarked on the path of acting again. I didn't expect it to go so smoothly. At the age of 28, I successfully entered the Beijing Film Academy on my first exam and became classmates with you, Qianqian. This is fate. Come on, let's have a drink. Thank you and Fang'er for your encouragement yesterday."

After hearing this, Liu Qianqian raised her Coke and clinked glasses with Huang Bo: "(⊙o⊙) Wow, Uncle Huang Bo, your life is so exciting!"

Shen Fang smiled and said, "Brother Bo, stop sighing. Your life has just begun. After you graduate from Beijing Film Academy, you will truly be yourself. You are destined to become an excellent actor."

Huang Bo touched his face and chuckled mischievously, "Right? I think so too. To be honest, I think I'm a natural actor, hehe."

Liu Qianqian looked at everyone and said, "Let's drink! I'm so happy to make friends with everyone today. Come visit me when you have time, I'm so lonely by myself."

Shen Fang patted Liu Qianqian's head: "Qianqian, if you miss your brother Shen Fang in the future, just call me, and I'll come and play with you when I have time."

Liu Qianqian smiled sweetly: "Mmm."

Huang Bo looked at Liu Qianqian: "Qianqian, don't you have any friends? Why are you so attached to your brother Chen Fang?"

Liu Qianqian shook her head: "I don't have any friends in China. My parents divorced when I was very young, and my mother took me to the United States. My mother and I depended on each other. At first, I couldn't speak the language in the United States, and the other kids didn't want to play with me. Later, I tried hard to learn English, but they still wouldn't play with me, just because I'm not an American kid. But I was too lazy to play with them anyway, hmph."

Upon hearing this, Shen Fang was struck by the racism in the US. He recalled that Tianxian's mother had gone to America, likely due to the wave of emigration at the time, when many Chinese believed that the grass was always greener on the other side. Although Tianxian hadn't elaborated, it was easy to imagine how severe racial discrimination was in America. A young Chinese girl in such an unfamiliar environment would undoubtedly face bullying. It was fortunate that Tianxian hadn't been bullied. Thinking of the hardships Tianxian had endured abroad, Shen Fang felt a pang of heartache and a strong urge to protect her.

Shen Fang patted Princess Liu Qianqian: "Qianqian, you should make more friends. You're so pretty, everyone likes to be friends with you. Everyone will like you, so don't be shy. Be more outgoing. As long as you're willing to make friends, no one will refuse you."

Liu Qianqian's background inspired Xing Aina and Xiao Ou's mother, Guanghui, who both said that they could come to them if they needed anything in the future, and that they could be Liu Qianqian's good friends.

Liu Qianqian looked at Chen Fang: "Really?"

Huang Bo grinned widely: "Of course! Qianqian, you're so cute and beautiful, everyone will like you and want to be your friend."

Shen Fang: "But Qianqian, you should be careful when making friends. Now that you've entered the Beijing Film Academy, the people you meet will be four or five years older than you. The boys are fine, but the girls might do something bad to you out of jealousy of your looks, or say hurtful things. If you encounter such a thing, you should tell your brother."

Liu Qianqian nodded: "Okay, brother, you have to protect me well."

Shen Fang performed a knightly salute and took Liu Qianqian's hand, saying, "From now on, I will be your guardian knight."

Huang Bo also made a funny face as if he were holding a knife: "I am your bodyguard with a knife."

Liu Qianqian giggled: "Then you'd better protect this princess well."

Huang Bo: "Scumbag!!!"

Shen Fang: "Brother Bo, only eunuchs talk like that."

Huang Bo: ...........

The meal was spent in laughter and joy.

In the afternoon, Liu Qianqian wanted to continue playing Dou Dizhu (a card game), but Shen Fang felt that Liu Qianqian should play less of this kind of game if she had nothing to do, and directly suggested taking Liu Qianqian to the amusement park. Liu Qianqian was very happy to hear this, as she had not had a proper trip since returning to China.

The group arrived at Beijing Amusement Park. Yes, that's right, Beijing Amusement Park. That's the name of the amusement park. Chen Fang bought 6 tickets, which were unbelievably cheap, only 5 yuan per person.
