Fortunately, Young Master He reacted quickly and retrieved his sword. After Meng Pei kicked the wolf away, he threw the sword over.

With a weapon, Meng Pei endured the pain, switched the sword to his left hand, and stabbed the wolf in the open throat, finally killing it.

After doing all this, Young Master He helped Meng Pei out of the iron cage and then put the chains back on, as if locking him up again.

Meng Pei made Young Master He scream a few more times, pretending to be attacked and torn apart by a wolf and about to die.

After the sound gradually weakened, it stopped completely.

Meng Pei originally wanted to try to break out, but now that he was injured, it was definitely not an option. He could only continue to hide in the wild beast camp and wait until he felt better before trying again.

Young Master He didn't dare to speak the whole time. Fortunately, Meng Pei had some medicine on him, so he helped bandage him up and gave him some water.

The two then huddled in a corner to rest.

Young Master He had just escaped death and was still in shock. With the roars of various wild beasts filling his ears, he practically huddled next to Meng Pei.

But Meng Pei needed to sleep. He had spent the previous night searching for an exit in the secret passage without sleeping, and had only managed a short rest last night. Now that he was injured, if he didn't rest, he wouldn't be able to save his uncle, let alone save himself.

Although Young Master He is timid, he is at least a companion. Since he is too scared to sleep, he can keep watch for him.

The two of them spent the night with one sleeping and the other cautiously watching the entrance.

Today, Meng Pei felt better and finally decided not to wait any longer.

At noon, there was only one person guarding the gate.
