Chapter 609 Shooting the Roe Deer

Shu Yu wasn't lying. Her grandmother knew she couldn't bring her lunch and thought going up the mountain would be more tiring and difficult, so she prepared a lot of food.

Although Shu Yu has a big appetite, it's not big enough to eat three rice balls and an egg.

The old lady really overestimated her; she doesn't look like a big eater at all.

She looked down at the marks on the ground excitedly and said, "It's in that direction."

Shu Yu raised her head, looked at the dense forest in front of her, paused, and took out a medicine bottle.

"Going in further is a bit dangerous. First, rub this on your body to ward off snakes, insects, and rodents."

If you're just walking around the perimeter, this stuff isn't a waste. But once you're deep in the mountains, you'll have to take precautions first.

Fang Xiyue looked at the thing in her hand with surprise. She was the daughter of a hunter, and her father would occasionally carry insect repellent with him, so she naturally knew the purpose of this thing.

However, since they were exiled here and had no other options, Fang Xiyue walked very carefully.

Unexpectedly, she actually had it.

Shu Yu said, "This is our first time in the mountains, so we're not familiar with the area yet. Let's not go too deep. If the roe deer is far in, we'll give up. We already have enough prey for today anyway."

Fang Xiyue nodded. "Okay."

The two sprinkled medicinal powder on themselves and then cautiously began to walk inside.

Sure enough, it wasn't long before the roe deer appeared.

Shu Yu quickly drew her bow. The roe deer was highly alert and leaped up almost as soon as they made a sound, its fur standing on end and turning white.

Seeing that it was about to escape, Shu Yu suddenly released the arrow.

With a 'whoosh', the roe deer fell to the ground.

Fang Xiyue was overjoyed, "I won! Ayu, you're amazing!"

She quickly ran forward, and luckily she had brought plenty of rope today, so Fang Xiyue quickly tied the roe deer up securely.

Shu Yu followed closely behind, looked around, and said to Fang Xiyue, "Let's carry the prey out first."

Fang Xiyue nodded, and the two of them quickly carried the roe deer, along with the pheasants and rabbits they had hunted earlier, out of the deep mountains.

Fortunately, both of them were strong, otherwise they really wouldn't have been able to lift the roe deer.

They didn't stop until they reached the outer edge of the mountain, where they put their things down and caught their breath.

"Ayu, shall we continue fighting?" Fang Xiyue asked.

It's still early, only around 1-3 PM.
