Chapter Twenty-Five

The moment Mo Wansheng finished speaking, she felt Huo Yuzheng's body stiffen.

A brief silence fell over the air.

Huo Yuzheng seemed to be considering how to answer the question.

The next second, before he could even gather his thoughts, Mo Wansheng shoved him away abruptly, her voice tinged with annoyance.

"Never mind, just pretend I didn't ask." She turned her head away and strode forward. She shouldn't have asked him.

Huo Yuzheng followed closely behind, grabbing her wrist with his large hand. He used a lot of force, but controlled it to make sure he wouldn't hurt her.

"Mo Wansheng," he called her name softly.

He pulled her towards him with a little force, his gaze fixed intently on her.

“We’ve only known each other for less than three months, and I’m not sure if this can be called liking someone.” His words were clear and cautious.

Hearing this overly rational statement, Mo Wansheng's heart sank slightly.

Her eyelashes trembled slightly as she tried to look away.

Then, Huo Yuzheng continued speaking in an orderly manner.

"But I want to see you, and I want to be with you."

"I wouldn't call myself an interesting person; I'm more of a work person."

"I've never liked anyone, so I can't define what 'liking' means."

This candor was almost clumsy, devoid of any romantic embellishment.

Yet that is his most authentic self.

Mo Wansheng looked up at him, the tears that had welled up in her eyes replaced by a smile.

"It's alright, Huo Yuzheng."

"Anyway, we're married now, so we have plenty of time to figure things out, don't we?"

She raised her hand and gently shook it, the wedding ring on her ring finger sparkling brilliantly.

He laughed, his laughter filled with relief and affection.

Not long after, the driver brought the car over.

The two got into the car together, and Mo Wansheng sat next to Huo Yuzheng.

Because I didn't get the answer I wanted, I forgave him.

But I still don't really want to let him go.

"Huo Yuzheng." She didn't even realize that she had started calling him by his full name.

"Hmm?" Huo Yuzheng turned his head to look at her beside him.

"Don't you have anything you like?" she pressed on relentlessly.

Yes, but not many.

Huo Yuzheng knew what she wanted to ask, so he continued, "But hobbies are different from people's. Apart from my family, I have never liked anyone else."

"Can I be the first?" Mo Wansheng said with a slightly teasing tone.

When she gets bold, she has no bottom line, like a kitten baring its teeth and claws.

Huo Yuzheng leaned slightly closer, closing the already ambiguous distance between them, his breath pressing down on her.

"Mrs. Huo, you can be the only one."

Mo Wansheng's aggressive demeanor vanished instantly, replaced by a shy avoidance.

She moved a little to the side and cleared her throat, trying to appear calm.

"Mr. Huo, what do you like? Hobbies and such?" Pretending nothing had just happened, she continued speaking to herself.

Huo Yuzheng took in her adorable attempt to cover up her lie, but he didn't expose her.

Continuing on from her new topic, I said, "Games, that counts."

"I see, no wonder you're so good at the game, you've been hiding your true abilities all along," Mo Wansheng clicked her tongue in amazement.

"I haven't told anyone, so please don't tell anyone, Mrs. Huo," he said solemnly, as if entrusting something to someone.

Mo Wansheng caught a glimpse of his serious expression and couldn't help but chuckle.

"Mr. Huo, I didn't expect you to be a gamer! Do I have some dirt on you now?" She said smugly.

"I'm not saying this to be mean, but playing video games is a perfectly normal hobby. Have you ever played a dating simulation game?"

"No," Huo Yuzheng replied quickly, almost without any hesitation.

Seeing his resolute expression, Mo Wansheng couldn't help but reach out and pat his shoulder.

"I say, Mr. Huo, why don't you go have some fun? That way you'll know what it means to like something."

These words carried a clear sense of joking and encouragement. Mo Wansheng's eyes sparkled as she stared intently at Huo Yuzheng.

He remained silent for a few seconds, his gaze tracing her face carefully.

Then, she slowly spoke, "Wenyou? Mrs. Huo, you've given me enough to study." Her words were deep and steady, without the slightest hint of frivolity.

Mo Wansheng's prepared jokes and teasing stuck in his throat for a moment; he always managed to say overly romantic things with a straight face.

She even felt that he himself didn't realize he was seducing people.

This kind of unconscious affection is more powerful than any deliberately crafted romance.

Once again, she was defeated.

Silence fell in the carriage again, but she still stubbornly believed that she had more dating experience than Huo Yuzheng.

She took a deep breath and said again, "Why don't you give it a try? I've never been in a relationship before, but I roughly know what it means to like someone."

"I've played a lot of dating sims, with all sorts of characters and different ways of expressing emotions. After playing so many, I can distinguish between liking and disliking."

She always talks a lot about games. She likes to arm herself with the "theoretical knowledge" she learns from games.

Huo Yuzheng waited quietly for her to finish speaking, his gaze, like a calm, deep pool, was startled and rippled.

"So, Mrs. Huo, are you trying to say that you like me?"

It collapsed.

Mo Wansheng choked abruptly, her eyes widened, and she shook her head frantically.

The blush on her cheeks extended all the way to her ears, and she hurriedly explained, "That's not what I meant!"

She did have feelings for him; she admitted it, and even liked him a little bit.

Only a tiny bit of excitement.

But she didn't get the "like" answer she wanted from him.

She wouldn't admit it until then.

She is willing to take the initiative, willing to test the waters, and willing to encourage.

But she refused to back down.

Huo Yuzheng's lips curled up slightly. He noticed her panic and stopped teasing her.

"Mrs. Huo, do you have any recommendations? I'd like to go somewhere sometime." He changed the subject, bringing the topic back to Mo Wansheng's initial suggestion.

"I'll go back and put together a spreadsheet for you." Mo Wansheng secretly breathed a sigh of relief.

When he got serious, she couldn't handle his words. Fortunately, he let her off the hook this time.

The car slowly drove into the parking lot of Jingyuan.

The two went back to the apartment together and said goodnight to each other.

"By the way, Mr. Huo, thank you for the hospitality tonight. Mr. Theo's soufflé was really delicious."

"Thank you for your presence, Mrs. Huo, and thank you for troubling us with the game."

The distance between the two had been fluctuating throughout the night, but now it had returned to its initial politeness.

Mo Wansheng retreated to her bedroom and slumped into the gaming chair in front of her computer.

She shook her head, clearing her mind of all the distractions, and turned on her computer.

The cold light from the computer screen reflected the blush on her cheeks.

She manually created a blank document, then opened her game library and carefully selected games.

His fingers flew across the keyboard.

Following a step-by-step approach, she entered the good game names into the document.

From innocent, youthful love to adult abstinence, she chose several of each type.

When her gaze fell upon the R18 games in the game library, she hesitated for a moment.

But Huo Yuzheng is already an adult, and he's even lived a year longer than her, so this shouldn't be a big deal.

With a series of clicks, a game was typed on the computer document.

In fact, there are even more than the all-ages category that was initially selected.

Finally, after reading through the entire document, she clicked send.

"Mr. Huo, please study hard."

After receiving the document, Huo Yuzheng scrolled through it from top to bottom with his mouse.

He glanced at the refreshing and enchanting game names, his expression calm.

He only noticed the separate category when he scrolled the mouse wheel to the bottom, and his eyebrows twitched slightly.

He picked up his phone and replied to Mo Wansheng's message.

"Received, thank you for your trouble."

Upon seeing his reply, Mo Wansheng pursed her lips; this guy was still the same as always.

But then, the phone vibrated again.

It was another message from Huo Yuzheng.

"I will study the advanced version of the content carefully, Mrs. Huo."

Mo Wansheng, who was lying on the cushion, blushed instantly and her toes curled up involuntarily.

She was very serious about choosing games for him.

The result was that he was shameless.

She grabbed her phone, her fingers flying across the keyboard, as if she wanted to retaliate.

But after spending a lot of time editing, I realized that no matter what I replied, I was at a disadvantage.

Finally, he huffed and puffed out a sentence.

Please adopt a proper learning attitude.

I received an angry emoji.

The message had just been sent successfully when the phone screen lit up again, switching to the phone interface.

Huo Yuzheng immediately called.

Mo Wansheng stuck out her tongue speechlessly. They were right next door, yet they still called.

This seems to be the first time I've ever made a voice call to her.

"What is it?" she asked, trying to keep her voice calm, though she sounded a little impatient.

"I just wanted to confirm what exactly you mean by 'correct attitude,' Teacher Mo?"

Huo Yuzheng deliberately dragged out his words, with a clear hint of mockery, "Do I need to combine theory with practice?"

"Huo Yuzheng!" Mo Wansheng called his name in embarrassment and anger, "You! You know perfectly well that's not what I meant!"

"What does that mean?" he asked calmly.

Mo Wansheng was speechless when he asked her question, and rolled half a circle on the bed while hugging her pillow.

She protested sullenly, "Figure it out yourself!"

She immediately hung up the phone, buried her head in the pillow, and held her breath to calm herself down.

She enjoys being quick-witted, but she never wins a verbal battle against Huo Yuzheng.

After a long while, she opened the game platform, and "Blueberry Cake's" avatar had been black for quite some time.

The last time I logged in was several days ago.

"Hey bro, when are you coming back to the game?"

"Let's wait a while, I have some things to take care of lately."

"Playing games alone is so boring!"

After sending that message, Mo Wansheng suddenly remembered something.

Huo Yuzheng told her that he liked playing video games.

Perhaps she could go to him.
