This is a rather dull and uneventful part; so far, the traps and mechanisms haven't been very exciting, after all, this is just the beginning.

Chang Lili thought that the first two challenges were probably just meant to let those who were hot-headed escape unscathed.

When she finally opened the golden lock with the key she had spent three hours polishing, her idea was finally proven true.

What appeared before me was still a door, a stone door, which looked very old and unremarkable. The words carved on it were still clearly visible even after many years.

"Those who arrive here and see this door do indeed know some tricks of mechanism, but you should know that life and death are separated by a single thought. Behind this door lies a life-or-death situation. This door can be entered but not exited. If you want to keep your life, you should stop here. If you insist on entering this door of life and death, please press the button on the left wall." Chang Lili finished reading in one breath and turned her head to see a protruding stone on the wall.

She frowned dismissively and said, "While it sounds sincere, it's not very intimidating!"

Meng Yuxiu, however, frowned and approached Chang Lili, saying, "Lili, there's really no need to break through this trap. If you want to enter the Light Machinery Department, I can let you in. Let's go back so that Grandma won't worry."

He reached out to grab Chang Lili's hand, but she dodged away and turned to look at him stubbornly: "I've come all this way, and I've prepared so hard for so long, I can't let it all go to waste. Besides, everyone in the Light Machinery Department got in based on their own abilities, and I don't want to be illegitimate."

Meng Yuxiu looked at her, a fleeting look of shame in his eyes: "I was thinking too simply."

"Don't forget what you promised me." Chang Lili looked at him, her eyes filled with sorrow yet determination. "Take good care of Mother-in-law. I'm off."

As she spoke, she mustered her courage, turned around, and pressed the protruding brick on the wall.

The massive stone gate trembled, then began to slowly rise with a tremendous sound.

Chang Lili turned to look at Meng Yuxiu, whose eyes were deep and unreadable. She knew he must be very sad, which was why his face was so tense.

She flashed what she thought was a bright smile, trying not to look so heavy, and waved casually, saying, "I'm off!"

Yet, beneath her seemingly carefree demeanor, there was still a hint of bitterness.

She turned to go through the stone gate, but a figure beat her to it and entered the stone gate like a gust of wind.

Chang Lili looked up and saw Meng Yuxiu standing there, looking at her with a smile on his lips.

She jogged over and asked in surprise, "What are you doing?"

At this point, the stone gate could no longer rise, and after a loud noise, it began to slowly descend.

Seeing this, Chang Lili grabbed Meng Yuxiu and tried to push him out the door: "Get out of here! What are you doing here? Have you forgotten what you promised me? You can't go back on your word!"

But she couldn't push him away; instead, Meng Yuxiu turned around and hugged her tightly, his gentle voice ringing in her ear: "Didn't I say I would stay with you?"

Chang Lili suddenly felt an itch in her ears and her face flushed.

"This is not the time to talk about these things. This is not a joke. You have to help me take care of my mother-in-law..." Chang Lili's eyelids were getting lower and lower. She was so anxious that she used her hands and feet to push Meng Yuxiu away and shove him out.

The latter remained unmoved and said in a deep voice, "Don't worry, I've already given the instructions. Someone will take care of Mother-in-law."

Chang Lili struggled to break free from Meng Yuxiu's embrace, using all her strength, but she still couldn't move him.

Hearing the stone door slam shut with a click, Chang Lili froze for a moment, then stammered, "It's over..."

A sliver of light appeared, and Meng Yuxiu's face came into view. He casually blew on the tinderbox and calmly pulled Chang Lili up, saying, "How could I let you come to a place like this alone? I'll take you out."

Chang Lili finally came to her senses, snatched the tinder from Meng Yuxiu's hand, looked around, and then discovered the oil lamp embedded in the wall.

She carefully lit the oil lamps on both sides of the wall, and the surroundings gradually brightened. She couldn't wait to look up.

There was a road in front of them, which looked ordinary, but chains hung above it.

Apart from the oil lamp, there was nothing special about the walls on both sides. Chang Lili stuffed the tinder back into Meng Yuxiu's hand and repeatedly touched the walls, but found nothing.

"You can enter but not exit... So that's what it means. This door can only be opened from the outside." Chang Lili slumped against the wall. "At a time like this, who would open the door for you from the outside?"

Meng Yuxiu walked over and pulled her up, saying, "Now that we're in, we have to get through. Don't you have the confidence to get me out with you?"

Chang Lili glared at him angrily, then her face turned helpless: "I...I'm just scared. You're afraid something will happen to me, and I'm just as afraid something will happen to you."

Meng Yuxiu paused for a moment, then smiled, his smile spreading like ripples: "In that case, let's stay by each other's side and take care of each other."

Chang Lili disdainfully shook off his hand, puffed out her cheeks, and said, "Your martial arts are certainly high, but you don't understand mechanical arts. What are you going to do? You'll only be a burden to me here."

Meng Yuxiu knew she was angry about what had just happened, but he wasn't annoyed at all. Instead, he let out a satisfied sigh and said, "You're completely wrong."

Chang Lili's eyes flickered, but she refrained from looking at Meng Yuxiu and asked, "What? Do you know anything about mechanisms?"

"I don't understand mechanical arts, but there's one thing I must tell you: everyone in the Light Machinery Division is indeed a genius, but not everyone is a genius in mechanical arts."

Meng Yuxiu spoke slowly, clearly trying to whet Chang Lili's appetite. Chang Lili didn't like these roundabout ways, so she simply turned her head, making no attempt to hide her curiosity, and asked Meng Yuxiu, "How so?"

Meng Yuxiu said slyly, "Not everyone can enter the Light Machinery Department based on their mastery of mechanical arts."

Chang Lili asked, puzzled, "I still don't understand what you mean. Does it mean we can go in without going through the trap array?"

"The trap formation must be passed, but some people can pass through it using only their martial arts skills," Meng Yuxiu said mysteriously.

Chang Lili's eyes widened: "No way? Just martial arts skills? What about your mechanical skills?"

Meng Yuxiu shrugged: "Completely ignorant."

"How did he get in? Where did he get two keys?" Chang Lili asked Meng Yuxiu in surprise, anticipating his answer.

Meng Yuxiu, who had been in the mood to keep everyone in suspense, suddenly frowned, as if he had remembered something unpleasant, and refused to look at Chang Lili.

"What happened? How did he pass? How high is his martial arts skill? Can he fly to the heavens and dive into the earth? Is he the Great Sage Equal to Heaven?" Chang Lili became interested and kept asking Meng Yuxiu questions while grabbing his arm.
