Giving the Interstellar a Small Horror Shock

Naili, who didn't need much sleep in her previous life, couldn't rest long even after death, for she had transmigrated to the interstellar era. Overly advanced technology brought forth a di...

Chapter 164 Do you think Sirens really exist?

Song Shixin looked at her in shock, not because she had "come back to life", but because her body was changing at a speed visible to the naked eye.

The woman obviously noticed the changes in her body. She looked at the webbed fingers in amazement. It was a thin layer of flesh, but surprisingly tough.

In addition to the changes in her hands, Song Shixin also saw a layer of green fish scales beginning to grow on her body.

Completely different from the beautiful mermaids in fairy tales, the green of those fish scales is a dull green. They grow densely from under the skin and quickly cover a thick layer.

Song Shixin watched them growing wildly, with no sign of stopping, and they continued to spread to the woman's face.

In the end, the woman's entire body was covered in green fish scales, and she looked more like a pangolin than a fish. Only her eyes still retained their human appearance.

"Gurgle..." She opened her scaly mouth, spit out a string of bubbles, twisted her body and turned around in the jar.

Unfortunately, considering her current appearance, this action does not look aesthetically pleasing at all.

However, the existence of these monsters and witnessing how the monsters were born explained to Song Shixin the reason for the existence of this space. Richard was so obsessed with "Siren", and he clearly wanted to create "Siren".

But judging by the current situation, Richard probably hasn't succeeded yet.

Just as Song Shixin was thinking, the woman in the jar, whose face had been completely disfigured, suddenly became restless. She kept scratching the transparent inner wall with her hands, and slowly even started to hit it with her body.

Song Shixin didn't know what was wrong with her. She subconsciously moved towards the door, but heard light footsteps coming from outside.

She glanced at the woman. Did she sense someone coming from outside? Thinking of this, Song Shixin's heart sank. It seemed that the "change" was far more than just growing scales.

Someone was coming outside, so Song Shixin carefully closed the door. Fortunately, the door was well lubricated and did not make any noise.

After closing the door, she quickly found a place to hide. In a corner of the space, there were several square wooden cargo boxes stacked up. Behind them, there was a small gap, which was just enough for her to squeeze in.

Hiding herself, she pricked up her ears and waited quietly.

Soon, the door was opened silently, and she heard the sound of shoes entering the house. Someone came in.

"Tsk." Richard looked at another failed product with an unsightly expression and uttered a light "tsk" of reluctance.

He walked up to the container, looked at the "crazy" failed product inside, and pressed a button under the container without hesitation.

The electric current spread silently within the liquid, and the woman screamed in pain. Her screams woke up the other failed products in the large rectangular box. They swayed their bodies and swam to the corner like fish, huddling together, with a unanimous fear of Richard in their eyes.

The strong electric shock caused the woman to lose consciousness, and her body floated up and down in the liquid, limp and powerless.

Richard pressed two more buttons, and soon the liquid in the tank was drained out and put into another empty container. The woman, who had lost the liquid, fell to the bottom of the container like a stranded fish.

Richard walked forward, opened the container, dragged the woman out and placed her on the tray next to the big box. The tray was very large. After putting the things on it, he slowly lifted the things up.

At the same time, a hole opened at the top of the box, and the woman was thrown into the box with a plop.

Through the gap, Song Shixin watched this scene. It was obvious that Richard did not regard these failed "Sirens" as human beings. As long as they were not "Sirens", he didn't care what happened to them.

"We can't wait until night." Richard looked at the thing inside the large box that looked neither human nor mermaid, took off the intercom from his chest and said coldly, "These people are too afraid of death and are spreading the news more slowly than I expected."

"I'm sorry, Captain," a distorted voice came from the other end of the intercom. "But we've contacted the buyer of this batch of flour. They're willing to pay a deposit of 3.2 million, with an additional payment of 2.1 million upon delivery. With this proceeds, you can continue your experiment."

"Yeah." Richard took a deep breath. Before he could say anything, there was a burst of noise on the other end of the intercom, and then the distorted voice said anxiously:

"Captain, the storage room has been broken into."

Song Shixin, who was hiding behind the box, was shocked. After all, she was the "intruder".

After hearing the news, Richard showed no surprise, nor any panic. He just nodded lightly and continued the previous conversation slowly.

"What's the situation at the source?"

"Everything is normal, and we've successfully infected some people. Now we're just waiting for an outbreak." The person on the other end paused and assured, "Don't worry, no one will survive."

"Of course." Richard narrowed his eyes.

After the call was completely over, Richard's eyes swept across the entire space. Song Shixin heard him say, "Come out."

She shuddered subconsciously, but didn't go out. Maybe Richard was just trying to trick her?

"There's not much room behind those boxes," Richard said. "Isn't it uncomfortable to stay in there?"

Only then did Song Shixin honestly come out from the back, with a wary expression on his face, "How did you know?"

The space at the bottom of the ship is so big, how can he be sure that he will walk into this space and not somewhere else?
