Xiao Jin struggled for over a decade in the apocalypse before perishing with the Zombie King. To her surprise, she woke up, reborn into a world without zombies.
Before she could even bother w...
Seeing Cui Mingyang looking somewhat disheveled ahead, Tong Xiaolu could no longer hold back her tears: "Brother Mingyang!"
"It's alright, we were just late." He rubbed Tong Xiaolu's head.
The two then took Luo Bin to the side and gave him a recovery item to use, finally managing to save him before he died.
Ahead.
The next second, Xiao Jin teleported several times to the side of Xiao Yun who had fallen to the ground. He switched his crossbow for a long sword and gave Xiao Yun a good beating.
They're just naughty kids! A few beatings will teach them a lesson.
At first, Xiao Yun was extremely angry and resentful of Xiao Jin for suddenly intruding into his territory and disrupting his plans.
But it wasn't long before he realized that he couldn't beat his opponent at all!
Xiao Yun was stunned. As a vengeful ghost, he was being beaten to the ground by a human.
Enraged, he roared, and the surrounding ghostly energy surged, forming a black rain of swords that attempted to pierce through Xiao Jin's body.
Unfortunately, before the rain of swords could arrive, Xiao Jin suddenly grabbed Xiao Yun, who looked like a rag doll, and slammed her heavily against the wall.
A spark of electricity gathered at the tip of the Shattered Shadow Blade, aimed directly at Xiao Yun's eyes. If he dared to make any rash moves, Xiao Jin was certain that his head would be smashed to pieces by the Shattered Shadow Blade.
Sure enough, upon seeing this, the dark rain of swords behind Xiaoyun instantly stopped in mid-air.
Xiaoyun didn't dare to blink, staring at the knife tip less than five centimeters from her eyeball; even her smile was stiff.
"I heard you're looking for playmates..." Xiao Jin's voice was icy: "What do you think of me?"
Xiaoyun was on the verge of tears. Whose playmate is like this?
He shook his swollen face, and Xiaoyun looked nothing like her usual cute self!
Xiao Jin brought the knife closer to Xiao Yun again: "And what about them?"
No, no more!
Xiaoyun gestured to him that they didn't need any of them, as if to say, "You guys should leave now."
When Tong Xiaolu helped Luo Bin, whose face was as white as paper, downstairs, his face was still blank.
Is this okay? They... just left like that?
"Don't even think about it, this approach doesn't work for us." Cui Mingyang seemed to have noticed Tong Xiaolu's confusion.
"If you are alone, it is best not to confront the vengeful ghost head-on."
Tong Xiaolu also knew that Cui Mingyang meant well. People without power would only anger the vengeful ghosts and die a more miserable death if they did this.
She then glanced at Xiao Jin, who was leading the way, and felt a strange flutter in her heart. She immediately lowered her head.
"Oh, right!" Tong Xiaolu suddenly remembered: "Ying, why are you with Brother Mingyang? And Brother Mingyang, Luo Bin and I looked for you on the fourth floor for ages, but you weren't there. Where's that ghost doctor?"
Cui Mingyang gave a wry smile: "It's all thanks to Ying!"
Tong Xiaolu: "Hmm?"
"Sigh~ I overestimated myself." Cui Mingyang looked up at Xiao Jin's back: "I thought I could hold off the ghost doctor until you found the medical records."
But I never expected to be almost killed in a counterattack. If Ying hadn't arrived just in time, I would have been dead.
Tong Xiaolu frowned.
Although Luo Bin didn't say it, she could tell that something was definitely strange going on in the principal's office.
The previous grouping decision was somewhat hasty. If there had been enough people to restrain them, players might have been able to complete the game without taking any damage.
Hindsight is always 20/20! It's too late to say anything now.
………………
The four of them finally arrived on the first floor.
As soon as I came down, I saw a scene of utter chaos. Although the walls here couldn't be destroyed, just looking at the haphazardly placed benches and tables, I could tell what kind of trouble this place had suffered.
"Shadow led me downstairs to the Ghost Doctor, then shook him off. Before we left, we saw Lola wandering around."
But where have those two gone now?
Cui Mingyang looked around, but couldn't see a single person, not even Ding Zhao who had come down earlier.
"Forget it, why bother with those two ghosts! It's better that they're not here, let's hurry up and get out of here!" Tong Xiaolu said, looking around.
"Since there is no other exit, then logically speaking, the entrance can also be considered an exit."
The three of them then walked towards the main gate.
As soon as they reached the gate, a sudden gust of wind ripped through the air like a sharp blade, carrying an undeniable chill that pressed against the back of everyone's necks.
Xiao Jin felt a chill run down her spine, turned around abruptly, and slashed at the invisible threat with the long sword she gripped tightly in her hand.
"clang!"
A crisp metallic clang echoed in the empty hall. A delicate scalpel drew an eerie arc in the air, but was deflected off course by Xiao Jin's blade strike and finally slammed weakly into the wall beside him.
Before Xiao Jin could sheathe his sword and return to defend, two dark figures, like phantoms in the night, silently leaped down the stairs, one after the other.
The former figure was thin and tall, wearing a tattered white coat stained with an unknown liquid, and had an eerie smile on his face; he was none other than the Ghost Doctor.
The latter, of course, is head nurse Laura!
"Damn, it's one thing to not mention it, but now that it's brought up again, it's really something to keep talking about." Cui Mingyang still had time to banter.
Luo Bin had regained his composure by now, slightly out of breath: "Alright, hurry up and open the door, or I won't be able to hold on any longer."
He lost a lot of blood and his legs are a little weak now.
Moreover, the moment he saw the ghost's long, black fingernails, he felt a chill run down his spine.
Cui Mingyang was quite efficient; while Xiao Jin was dealing with the two fierce ghosts, he had already gone up to push open the door.
After a while, a puzzled voice came from behind: "Something's not right, the door won't open."
