A survival game sweeps across the globe.
Without time to prepare, Xia Ning is thrown onto an endless highway.
To survive, she must keep moving forward: highway survival, maritime advent...
Day 5
Li Le headed north along the path, with several zombies following far behind his donkey cart.
Actually, these past few days have been abnormally peaceful for Li Le. His donkey is good at deterring low-level zombies, so why haven't there been any monsters? It's not like a survival game at all.
There's only one possibility: the big boss in front of us wiped out all the monsters, which explains the commotion at the gas station.
6 Wow.
Li Le's determination to curry favor with powerful figures grew stronger.
As time went on, Li Le gradually noticed that the zombies were moving faster and the distance between them and the donkey cart was getting shorter.
One day, the zombies will evolve to be unafraid of Donkey Brother, and then how Li Le will face his predicament will be a big problem.
After a day's journey, Li Le's vision gradually broadened, and he could see modern construction.
He came across a small wooden hut by the roadside, inside which was a couple who had committed suicide together. Carefully stepping over the rotting corpses, Li Le obtained two pistols.
This provides some assurance for his upcoming trip.
The closer he got to the city, the more certain he became that powerful players were passing through, as the train tracks were extremely obvious.
Li Le could imagine the tycoon flooring the gas pedal in a fit of rage, crashing the entire world.
Then, just as he was thinking about how to curry favor with someone powerful, someone else came to curry favor with him first.
Five foreign men crawled and knelt before him, wailing, "Master, save us!"
Li Le asked them if they had seen any other people pass by.
They all shook their heads, saying they had been hiding in the building for three days and hadn't eaten. They said they were so hungry today that they came out to find food and happened to see him.
One of the guys in camouflage tried desperately to strike up a conversation in broken Mandarin: "Thank you, how much? Where's the restaurant? Hello? Qigong? Master? Carry it!"
Li Le: ? ? ?

Xia Ning doesn't need to be so arrogant.
Ever since her tire blew out in the desert, Xia Ning has adopted a Zen-like attitude towards her tires. Whether or not they get punctured is not a technical issue, but a matter of fate.
【Princess Phantom's Car】Under the owner's completely unskilled operation, it crushes all obstacles like a bulldozer.
This led Xiong Xue and Mei Mi, who were sitting in the car, to often suspect that it was actually a small tank covered with iron plates.
The densest areas of zombies have been breached, and only a few zombies occasionally emerge from the roadside on the remaining roads. Often, before they can even touch the guardrails, they are hit in the face by car exhaust or stepped on by car wheels.
The only downside is that the people sitting in the car are jolted around every now and then, like riding in a bumper car.
Poor Meimi.
Xia Ning kindly provided plastic bags for vomiting and preserved plums to relieve discomfort, as she dared not give pregnant women any motion sickness medication casually.
Meimi is a strong woman who never complains of being tired. When she is really in pain, she just furrows her thin eyebrows tightly together.
Xia Ning's help was limited. Her physical fitness improved, but her constantly shifting gaze was quite annoying.
Xiong Xue was even less of a help; at most, he kept talking and trying to distract Mei Mi with his broken foreign language.
"Sister Meimi, once the virus is under control, I'll take you to visit the country."
"Our country is vast and rich in resources, with many fun places to visit!"
Xia Ning thought, no wonder his voice was hoarse when we first met; it wasn't from shouting, it was from talking.
As the number of zombies around decreased, the road conditions improved considerably, and the bumpy ride was somewhat alleviated.
Aside from the survivors who occupied buildings and demanded tolls, Xia Ning didn't find any other survivor teams or other players in the city.
Xia Ning pondered whether it was because other players were too fast, or because she was too fast, or perhaps there were other research institutes besides the Northern Research Institute, such as the Southern Research Institute, and the players' final destinations might not be the same.
She rested her head on the windowsill with one hand and held the steering wheel steadily with the other, looking every bit like a seasoned driver. No one would guess that she had been driving for less than a month.
—Thump!
The dirty car crashed into the truck that was parked diagonally in the middle of the road, denting the truck's body.
Xia Ning glanced over out of the corner of her eye and saw that Xiong Xue was already used to it and had already grabbed the handrail in advance.
Looking in the rearview mirror, Memi went a step further, directly modifying her seating space.
Memi had attached down jackets to the window glass on her side and to the back of the front seats as cushioning pads.
Xia Ning: Okay, everyone is quite adaptable.
I've heard that pregnant women have a brain protection mechanism that allows them to forget the pain of childbirth after giving birth, which gives them the courage to have a second child.
Xia Ning felt that they were about done for now.
Xiong Xue, who was gagging just two days ago, was now able to deal with the zombies banging on the window with a normal expression.
The instinct for survival overcame fear.
Just as Xia Ning was looking at the map and about to cross the fallen city, and everyone relaxed slightly, a corpse suddenly fell from the sky and smashed into the windshield.
"My God!"
Xia Ning instinctively slammed on the brakes.
She had considered zombies coming from the front, the side, and the back, but she never expected there would be an airdrop!
Then the zombies started falling like dumplings—no, they were more like hailstones, raining down in a flurry.
Zombies were rolling off the hood, in the trunk, and on the roof of the vehicle.
Meimi leaned out the rear window and tried to look up.
"Overpass, that's a pedestrian overpass."
Xia Ning stepped on the gas again: "You scared me! I thought the zombies could climb trees."
