Chapter 1 / Section 5: Similar Entities

They once wrote those past moments together. The boy changed her destiny like a gust of wind. But why did he choose to abandon her halfway through? Doesn't this heartless boy know the value of perseverance?

The familiar voice drifted through the air, and Xiong Yingguang immediately recognized it as Jing Mo Ran's. Jing Mo Ran was arguing fiercely with his father; there was no mistaking that voice.

Just as Xiong Yingguang was about to go find Jing Moran, she was blocked by Lu Xiyao. Unable to move forward, she could only watch helplessly as Jing Moran was constantly scolded by a man.

"Lu Xiyao, get out of my way!" Xiong Yingguang said angrily.

“I know Jing Moran is over there because I found his father. A monster like him shouldn’t be with you; he’ll ruin you,” Lu Xiyao replied.

"Lu Xiyao, that's enough! By your logic, am I a monster too? Monsters should stick together with other monsters so they don't kill others. Jing Moran and I are the same kind. I can't let him go. Forgive me, Lu Xiyao." Xiong Yingguang begged Haiyang for help to stop Lu Xiyao.

At Xiong Yingguang's command, Haiyang immediately intercepted Lu Xiyao. Lu Xiyao couldn't understand why Xiong Yingguang would repeatedly believe Jing Moran, that scumbag who fell in love with every woman he met.

Jing Mozhan was berated mercilessly by his father. The harsh words that came out of his father's mouth were hard for Xiong Yingguang to imagine how a father could treat his own son like that.

Just then, Xiong Yingguang resolutely appeared beside Jing Moran, even though Jing Moran considered her a third party. Because of Jing Moran's appearance, Xiong Yingguang was able to live until now, so Jing Moran was someone she could never hate in this life. If it weren't for him, she would have long since died. Since she couldn't feel physical pain, then death would also be painless.

"Xiong Yingguang, why do you keep believing him?" Lu Xiyao said, her voice filled with disbelief.

"Why are you doing this? This is her choice. She doesn't want to drag you down with her, Xiyao." Haiyang tried to persuade Lu Xiyao.

“Brother Haiyang, you don’t understand how much I love Xiong Yingguang. I may not be able to give Xiong Yingguang anything right now, but I will work hard for her one day. But why is she willing to believe in Jing Moran and change her mind even though she knows he’s a scumbag who falls in love with every woman he meets?” Lu Xiyao was full of doubts.

“You might not understand this, but Xiong Yingguang has her own reasons for trusting Jing Moran. Otherwise, she wouldn’t have returned to Jing Moran’s side time and time again,” Haiyang explained.

Who can a boy's eyes truly hold? Why does he always face things so calmly, yet he can never see the girl's eyes, which remain as affectionate as ever? Does the girl not understand that she is so insignificant in the boy's eyes?

Lu Xiyao could only watch helplessly as Xiong Yingguang ran towards Jing Moran, and she could only be a friend in Lu Xiyao's life, nothing more.

Lu Xiyao knew that he rejected other people's kindness for Xiong Yingguang, but why did Xiong Yingguang keep avoiding him? It was one thing for her to ignore him, but why did she keep falling in love with one person after another? Was he so unworthy of Xiong Yingguang? She was always avoiding him. Was she particularly tired of having him around? If she were a young girl, it would be understandable, but he was constantly making things difficult for Lu Xiyao.

Xiong Yingguang ran towards Jing Moran's faint light. She wanted to run to his side and protect him from everything. Even though you don't love me, I will still love you to the end.

Just as Jing Mo Ran's father was about to hit her, Xiong Ying Guang quickly appeared in front of her and blocked the beating.

"Xiong Yingguang, why are you here?" Jing Moran asked.

"It's so good to see you," Xiong Yingguang replied with a smile.

"Get away from me, or he'll beat you to death." Jing Mozhan watched her father beat Xiong Yingguang, but he didn't stop.

"You bitch, what are you doing interfering when I'm hitting my son? Get out of my way, or I'll beat you to death!" Jing Mozhan's father said viciously.

Xiong Yingguang still wore a smile as she looked at Jing Mozhan, while her back endured the brutal beating from Jing Mozhan's father. However, no matter how much she was beaten or how much blood flowed, Xiong Yingguang felt no pain whatsoever.

Jing Mo Ran wanted to kneel down and beg her father to let Xiong Ying Guang go, but Xiong Ying Guang said, "Don't kneel! This kind of person isn't worth it. Anyway, I won't feel any pain."

"Fool, why are you protecting me like this? I'll never like you, so why are you doing this?" Jing Moran was filled with guilt.

After Jing Mo Ran's father discovered that Xiong Ying Guang was also a monster, he prepared to drag her to a secluded alley. Seeing this, Jing Mo Ran quickly asked, "What are you trying to do!"

“Little girl, I can let him go, but you have to spend the night with me. My brother and I have never tasted a loli like you before; your flesh must be very delicious,” Jing Mo Ran’s father said shamelessly.

“Sure, I’ll stay with you for a month, as long as you let Jing Moran go.” Xiong Yingguang agreed without hesitation.

"Since you've been asking for a month, I'll grant your request and release Jing Moran. Jing Moran, get the hell out of here and don't disturb my happy life with this little girl," Jing Moran's father said viciously.

In Xiong Yingguang's eyes, she was just a monster without the ability to feel pain; even if someone sexually assaulted her, she wouldn't feel any pain. Rather than endure that, she'd rather be sexually assaulted, because her father was never home, and she had already killed her mother. Therefore, she wanted to protect the person she loved, even if others didn't like her.

“Xiong Yingguang, how could you be so selfish…” Jing Mozhan said with heartache.

"Jing Mo Ran, I'm so glad I can let you be the one I love." With that, Xiong Ying Guang was pushed into the car by Jing Mo Ran's father. Jing Mo Ran was soft-hearted and didn't dare report her father; otherwise, he would have been in prison long ago.

The rain was eroding the girl's heart that had once loved the boy, yet she remained devoted to him, utterly and completely. Because they were kindred spirits, there was no prejudice between them; they understood each other and saw no strange looks. Her love for the boy was merely a fleeting expression; she hoped he wouldn't take her feelings for granted.

Mu Xinghe watched Jing Moran from the side, but Jing Moran cried, crying with such remorse.

“Daughter, are you sure that kind of person is someone you like? That girl clearly loves Jing Moran more than you do. There’s no way you and Jing Moran can be together. Jing Moran is just a monster who can’t feel pain. Monsters should be with monsters, do you understand?” Mu Xinghe’s father said.

Mu Xinghe remained silent, but the Jing Moran she saw had become the monster her father spoke of. Her father was right; monsters should be with monsters, and she didn't want Jing Moran to be rejected or treated as a monster by anyone.

Just as Mu Xinghe shed tears, realizing why they were not a good match, she knew that the one who was hurting the most was Jing Mozhan. He could escape any physical pain, but ultimately he couldn't escape the heartache.

God gave the boy a great right: to choose death. But while death spared him from pain, could heartache truly kill him? He was still not completely immune to pain.

The boy and she are the same kind of people, so they should be together.
