Xu Milu was drowning in debt. After obtaining a dimensional travel system, she embarked on an irreversible path of selling interdimensional ingredients across the universe.

As night fell, Shiyi Niang boarded the bridal sedan chair and headed to the Lu family amidst music and fanfare. Xu Milu, however, sat in the main hall, drinking with the mountain spirits and monsters.
The bright red "double happiness" characters and lanterns in the courtyard hadn't been taken down yet. A little fox, who had drunk too much and revealed its true form, was chattering incessantly by the fish pond. There was also a group of short tree spirit dolls running around the yard wearing only red bibs.
The fox spirits were cleaning the courtyard, while a few mischievous ones were releasing lotus lanterns by the water. The flickering lights illuminated the starry sky, creating a rather romantic scene.
Another tiger spirit, three meters long, was dead drunk and lying under a peach tree, snoring loudly.
Upon closer inspection, a human face appeared to have grown on the trunk of the peach tree that was in full bloom in the middle of autumn. The peach petals fell "rustling" in the wind, adding a touch of artistic conception to the hazy courtyard.
Those attending the wedding banquet today are all minor demons with low cultivation levels. Some haven't even fully transformed into human form, and some are so drunk that they can't even maintain their human form, lying slumped over in a large group.
"Madam Xu, please take a seat."
After seeing off Eleventh Sister, the younger generation in the family were all quite drunk. Old Master Hu, his face beaming with joy, welcomed Xu Milu and seated her in the seat of honor.
"You've really had a hard day, Madam Xu. If it weren't for your kind heart, my Eleventh Sister's wedding banquet would have been rather quiet and deserted. I should offer you a toast. This is 'Qianjiang Spring' from Taihe Restaurant. Madam Xu, please have a taste?"
The alcohol content of the wines in the Tang Dynasty is not high. Xu Milu took a small sip and found it sweet, somewhat like rice wine, but without the smoothness. She could accept it.
Although she had already eaten about 80% full in the kitchen, Xu Milu didn't refuse the snacks and fruits that Old Man Hu had sent over. She drank three cups of wine with the fruits, which caused the mountain spirits to start making a fuss.
"Madam Xu has a good capacity for alcohol!"
"Madam Xu is truly a heroine among women!"
A young man dressed in a black Taoist robe, whose origins are unknown, raised his wine cup:
"Madam Xu, this little demon toasts you—I heard that Madam Xu went to the Dragon King's birthday banquet and used a fine treasure to paint an unparalleled 'Dragon King's Birthday Banquet Picture.' This little demon was fortunate enough to see it once, and it was truly lifelike and vivid! This little demon toasts you again."
Xu Milu glanced at him, then, without any hesitation, drank a glass of wine and said with a smile:
"Today is the wedding of Old Master Hu's daughter, which is a joyous occasion. We should be toasting Old Master Hu, so why are you urging me to drink?"
A group of mountain spirits and monsters also laughed, and several of them went to pester Hu Silang for drinks, making the small banquet very lively.
A demon with a leopard's head, seemingly extremely drunk, grabbed Hu Silang and started shouting recklessly:
"Indeed, indeed! Today is a tremendous opportunity for your Eleventh Sister to become an immortal. Why isn't your Hu family drinking?"
Hu Silang's expression changed, and he quickly covered the mouthless monster's mouth:
"Young Master Leopard is probably drunk and talking nonsense. Eighteenth Sister, quickly take Young Master Leopard downstairs to sober up."
No sooner had he finished speaking than several fox-women rushed up and swarmed around, helping Leopard Head down. Meanwhile, Old Man Hu acted as if nothing had happened, inviting Xu Milu to drink.
"Madam Xu, please."
Becoming an immortal?
Xu Milu pretended not to hear the leopard spirit's words, half-closed her eyes, peeled a loquat, and slowly took a bite.
It seems that not only the Lu family is hiding something about this wedding, but the Hu family is also keeping quite a few things from them.
But none of that has anything to do with her.
Xu Milu couldn't resist drinking another glass of sweet wine, her face flushed, as if she were drunk.
...
...
The banquet lasted until late at night. Despite Mr. Hu's repeated attempts to persuade her to stay, the tipsy Xu Milu insisted on going home, mentioning that she was worried about her pet at home.
"Very well, Madam Xu has worked hard today. I will visit you another day to express my gratitude."
Old Hu summoned Hu Silang, who was still relatively lucid, and asked him to take a few foxes to send Xu Milu back to Chang'an. Although the city gates were closed at this time, the demons had their own ways of entering and leaving.
As soon as Xu Milu sat in the sedan chair, she closed her eyes and fell fast asleep. Her face was slightly flushed, and she looked like she was sound asleep. She didn't even hear what Old Hu was saying.
Old Man Hu glanced at him and carefully instructed Hu Silang to make sure he took the man back to the Mountain and Sea Restaurant safely. Hu Silang naturally agreed without hesitation.
...
...
The paper sedan chair swayed back and forth in the mountains, and the four little foxes carrying it worked extra hard, wagging their tails happily.
Hu Silang, who was accompanying them, cursed as soon as he saw it:
"Those of you who are easily swayed, be sure to carry the sedan chair steadily, don't jostle Xu Niangzi, or I'll skin you alive!"
A yellow fox squeaked and laughed:
"Fourth Uncle, Madam Xu is incredibly generous! The rewards she gives are always delicious treats imbued with spiritual energy. Little Eight only brought Madam Xu some fruit once, and she rewarded him with a whole chicken. If we hadn't been quick-witted and hadn't drunk any alcohol tonight, the job of carrying Madam Xu's sedan chair wouldn't have fallen to us!"
"You clever little devil!"
Hu Silang glanced at the silent sedan chair, guessing that Xu Milu must be fast asleep, before lowering his voice to say:
"Don't say that your fourth uncle doesn't care about you. This Madam Xu has quite a background. Putting aside everything else, just the food in her shop is all imbued with spiritual energy, making it unique in the world. Madam Xu is kind and generous. If you take good care of her, you will surely reap the benefits in the future."
"Fourth Uncle, I heard that Grandfather intends to send you to serve Madam Xu as a servant boy who tends the stove. Would you be willing?"
The yellow-haired fox asked again.
Hu Silang gave a self-deprecating laugh:
"You saw it today too. Even the waiter at Madam Xu's shop is a dragon son of the Dragon King of the East Sea. I am just a mongrel fox with weak spiritual power. I can't even help Madam Xu with a fire. I can't get any benefits from this."
