Xu Milu was drowning in debt. After obtaining a dimensional travel system, she embarked on an irreversible path of selling interdimensional ingredients across the universe.
She hawks pearls f...
The most common buildings in Pearl City are boat-shaped structures floating on the water. Each boat has a different shape. The largest is half the size of Buji Town, while the smallest is similar to a speedboat. There are scantily clad siren girls selling flowers along the river.
These siren girls all come from different ship-shaped buildings, the most numerous of which are the ship hotels with brightly colored signs. Elves, dwarves, siren, and humans mingle among them, creating a harmonious scene.
"Beautiful human lady, would you like a handful of seaweed flower snacks? They're beautiful and delicious, and very popular with sea creatures!"
The siren girl with a light green fishtail chatted with Xu Milu with a smile, reached out and patted Ah Chou's head, and enthusiastically introduced the goods on her ship.
Xu Milu was very interested in the specialties of the Mermaid Capital and couldn't help but pat Ah Chou and stop.
On the small boat of the Green-tailed Siren, there were neatly arranged strange flowers with exceptionally bright colors. There were dark blue flowers with petals the size of bowls and shaped like lilies, tied into bouquets with seaweed. There were also strange-looking bouquets that looked like red coral, but upon closer inspection, they were actually coral bouquets composed of countless tiny flowers. There were also deep purple bouquets with petals like miniature crystal balls, covered with countless sticky liquids, which looked bizarre and disgusting.
Xu Milu was more interested in the seaweed bouquet in the siren girl's hand. It was a bouquet of plants with slender and long stems, composed of round, green seaweed balls growing along the creeping stems. Each seaweed ball was a translucent light green, and when sunlight shone through it, it even had a somewhat crystal-clear feel.
"This is longevity seaweed flower, which only grows in shallow sea areas. The seaweed balls are edible and taste quite good."
The enthusiastic siren girl plucked a sprig of seaweed flower and handed it to Xu Milu, her delicate face full of warmth:
"You must be from out of town! Here's a flower for you."
Xu Milu took the seaweed flower, reached out and picked a seaweed ball to examine it closely. The seaweed ball, about the size of a jujube, felt soft to the touch, like a plastic film wrapping a packet of water.
[Longevity Seaweed: Non-toxic, edible, no capture grade, a daily vegetable used by the Siren tribe to replenish their body water.]
She tentatively put the small ball in her mouth and gently bit it. She immediately felt the packet of algae burst open in her mouth, and a faint fishy smell accompanied by a salty and sticky taste rose up, filling her entire mouth with this flavor.
Overall, the taste was not bad, somewhat like raw kelp mashed into a paste, but the texture was really not good.
Xu Milu swallowed the seaweed ball liquid and casually fed one to A Chou. Unexpectedly, A Chou liked it very much and shook his head to indicate that he wanted more.
"Are there any more Kalanchoe blossfeldiana seaweed balls?"
She took a gold coin out of her pocket, intending to buy more, when she saw the siren girl giggle:
"Outsider, in Pearl City, Beli isn't the main currency. You'll need to go to the town hall in the city center to exchange your Beli for pearls first."
Are pearls the mainstream currency?
Xu Milu suddenly remembered that she had collected a large pile of pearls from the West Sea Dragon Palace, and wondered if they could be used as currency.
"Is this kind of pearl acceptable?"
She pretended to reach into her pocket, and when she reached out again, several round, white pearls, each about the size of a little finger joint, lay in her palm.
"sure!"
The siren girl picked up a pearl from her hand and held it up to the sun to examine it. The round pearl shimmered with a warm, lustrous sheen in the sunlight, and it was very beautiful.
"In Pearl City, as long as you have pearls, you can go anywhere."
The siren girl put the pearl into the pocket at her waist, then picked through it and pulled out a handful of red pearls, handing them to Xu Milu:
“One black pearl is equal to one hundred white pearls, one white pearl is equal to one hundred red pearls, and one red pearl is equal to one hundred pink pearls. Your one white pearl is enough to buy my entire boatload of seaweed flowers.”
Xu Milu didn't take it, but instead smiled and shook her head:
“I just saw you get off that ship. Perhaps you know where to find some delicious food from Pearl City? Consider the extra money as payment for asking for directions.”
The siren girl was both surprised and delighted. As if afraid Xu Milu would change her mind, she withdrew her hand and carried all the baskets of kalanchoe and algae balls onto Ah Chou's back before enthusiastically pointing out:
"Since you want to try the specialties of Pearl City, you must go to Granny Purple Tail's restaurant. It's near the city center, on that most unique boat!"
...
...
After thanking the siren girl, Xu Milu directed Ah Chou to travel through the waterways according to the map she had bought when she first entered the city. When no one was looking, she put the baskets of longevity algae flowers into the system slot.
Ah Chou seemed to really enjoy this stuff, chewing it while shaking his head and splashing water with his fat limbs, looking extremely happy.
"The most unique shop..."
Xu Milu didn't understand what kind of adjective this was, but just as A Chou swam past a boat, a building suddenly came into her view:
It was an old ship that looked very old, narrow in the front and wide in the back. A huge white fish head skeleton was displayed in the center of the bow, a hundred meters long. Strings of colorful neon lights lit up along the fish skeleton. The originally empty fish eye area had been transformed into a gate, through which countless small boats shuttled, creating a magical atmosphere.
More than fifty golden stars adorn the signboard—this indicates that the head chef has independently processed gourmet ingredients with a capture level of fifty stars, meaning that the Purple-Tailed Granny is at least an intermediate chef.
This was the first time Xu Milu had ever seen a restaurant with such a high level of chefs. She immediately became interested, patted Ah Chou, and swam in through the fish-eye-shaped door.
