Chapter 189, /.

"Deliver something! Deliver something!"

A soft, sweet voice came from behind.

The shopkeeper, busy calculating accounts, quickly looked up, but after a careful look, he found that there was no one in front of the counter.

He was utterly puzzled. "Audio hallucination!"

"Delivering something! Delivering something!"

The voice rang out again.

This time he heard it clearly, and the shopkeeper carefully looked around, but still couldn't see anyone.

He frowned, feeling a chill run down his spine. "Is this some kind of ghost?"

As soon as the words were spoken, a pair of small hands slowly rose from behind the counter, "Delivering something, delivering something!"

The voice sounded weak, as if struggling to crawl out of the ground, quite eerie, and immediately frightened the shopkeeper into taking a step back, crying out, "A ghost!"

"A ghost? Where?" the voice asked, sounding puzzled.

Seeing that it looked like a person, the shopkeeper hesitated for a moment before sticking his head forward to peek out.

Then he saw the little guy, struggling to raise his hands, trying to get his attention.

Looking at the tiny baby who wasn't even as tall as the cabinet, the shopkeeper frowned. "You're delivering something?"

Ying Ziyu nodded her little head, "That's right, the person who delivered the wine yesterday was my brother. It's the address where the wine was delivered. He asked me to send something over."

Upon hearing that it was an address for delivering wine, the shopkeeper looked somewhat troubled. "That place is not easy to deliver to. I searched for a long time yesterday and finally found someone willing to go there."

"And the shipping costs are very high?"

He looked at the baby and didn't think the little guy could afford such an expensive shipping fee.

As soon as he finished speaking, the little guy put down a gold bean, "I have money, please give it to me."

The shopkeeper's eyes flickered slightly, but considering the difficulty of transportation, he added, "It's not about the money; it's about finding someone willing to deliver it..."

"Ta-da!"

As soon as he finished speaking, five golden beans landed on the table. "Is this enough?"

The shopkeeper's eyes widened, and after a moment of stunned silence, he asked, "Where are the goods?"

The little guy placed a small box on the ground and then hurriedly left.

He ran while clutching his buttocks, looking extremely panicked. "Oh no, I'm going to lose my butt!"

Watching the little guy's retreating figure, the shopkeeper frowned. "Are all kids these days so rich?"

"What the heck is 'butt'?"

······

Early in the morning, the atmosphere in the village became tense, and everyone gathered at the village entrance.

"Finally, I'm going to see Gou Dan! My Gou Dan!"

A woman stared at a cloth doll, her eyes reddening.

"Big Hammer, now that you're back, Dad will never hit you again!"

The burly man had tears in his eyes.

There was also a plump young woman, gazing sadly into the distance, saying, "You rascal, this time you're back, you can't leave me again!"

Xiaoya stood next to Fusu, clutching a wooden hairpin in her hand, looking extremely nervous.

Seeing this, Fusu said softly, "Don't worry, we'll meet soon."

Upon hearing this, the girl gave a soft "hmm," and her tightly furrowed brows finally relaxed.

The old village chief leaned on a cane, his eyes deep and thoughtful. "Is everyone here?"

A man nearby said, "Zhang Kui hasn't arrived yet."

The old village chief frowned. "Where has that kid been?"

No sooner had he finished speaking than Zhang Kui rushed over, carrying a large bundle on his back. "He's here! The village chief is here!"

Old Man Cun glared at him, "Do you even know what day it is today? How dare you dawdle like that!"

Zhang Kui scratched his head, "Those two boys like to eat millet dumplings, so I brought some over!"

The old village chief didn't pursue the matter further and said, "Let's go!"

Full of hope, the group walked towards the edge of the border.

Perhaps due to their excitement, the group moved quickly even on the rugged mountain path, and no one asked to rest.

This journey took several hours.

As the setting sun cast its rays upon the distant mountains, the group finally arrived at the agreed-upon valley.

Inside the valley, Xiongnu soldiers were already waiting, clad in brown armor, wearing felt hats, and with scimitars at their waists.

As the old village chief and his entourage entered the valley, a man with a burly, bear-like build stepped forward. His felt hat was shaped like a white crane, and he was none other than the leader of the Xiongnu soldiers, a Xiongnu general.

The Xiongnu general stepped forward. "Have you brought the witnesses and the items?"

The old village chief met his gaze, "Where are our people?"

The Xiongnu general pointed behind him, where there was a huge iron cage covered with a black cloth, making it impossible to see inside.

At the signal, a Xiongnu soldier stepped forward, drew his scimitar, and tapped the iron cage, immediately causing a reaction inside.

"Help me!"

"Help! Help!"

"Don't kill me! Don't kill me!"

Hearing the shouts, a woman became excited, "It's Gou Dan! Gou Dan!"

"Mother! I'm here, save me!"

The villagers were overjoyed to hear the voices of their loved ones.

Xiaoya stood next to Fusu, clutching the wooden hairpin in her hand.

Seeing this, the old village chief looked towards the entrance of the valley and said, "The things are over there."

The Xiongnu general gave a signal, and a Xiongnu soldier bypassed the villagers and went forward to inspect the five carriages.

A moment later, the Xiongnu soldiers nodded to their general and then pulled the carriage to the Xiongnu camp.

Seeing that the goods had been taken away, the old village chief said, "Now that we've got the goods, shouldn't we release the people?"

The Xiongnu general did not answer, but instead began to scan the crowd as if searching for something.

A moment later, his gaze fell on Fusu.

That young man, with his elegant demeanor, stood out from the crowd like a crane among chickens, immediately catching his eye.

The Xiongnu general spoke meaningfully, "There were rumors that the witness this time would be the eldest son of the Qin Dynasty, and it seems to be true."
