Chapter 1045: First Sweet Kiss

This letter touched all the citizens of Cape Town. The Cape Town Parliament held a special discussion on whether to demolish or retain the Broken Bridge. After fierce debate, they finally reached a consensus. Respecting the wishes of the deceased's family and the opinions of all citizens, the Parliament made a special regulation: to retain the Broken Bridge.

No one was allowed to demolish it. The successor director chose to take office under the "broken bridge" and vowed to repair this shame. The mayor at the time handed him a small box containing a small piece of concrete from the broken bridge. Since then, Cape Town has become one of the cities with the lowest engineering accident rate in the world for more than a decade.

It was only the second day after arriving in Cape Town, but Yunluo's eyes and soul were shocked. Today was New Year's Eve, so naturally she couldn't let her taste buds down.

Back at the hotel, Nalan Shiqi showed off her preparation skills. She took out three lobster tails bought at a seafood supermarket, stir-fried the meat, and cooked rice with the shells; four large scallops, without garlic, onions, or fermented black beans, or even a piece of vermicelli, all steamed completely, fresh and tender with their original flavor; plus two vegetables. It looks simple but has incredible connotations.

Although it didn't rain today, it was very foggy. When we arrived at Victoria & Alfred Waterfront ("A" in the route map), the ships were quietly docked at the pier. Walking along the embankment, we couldn't see the sea so close at hand, but the seabirds still maintained their habits, either leisurely looking ahead or taking leisurely steps.

After walking through an ancient Greek breakwater, a majestic building with a simple but pastoral style appeared in front of us. It is the representative of Cape Town's top hotels - the "Bandela" hotel, which is famous for "creating the top standards of five-star hotel service, food and luxury". The Chinese leader once stayed here. It is said that at that time the hotel did not want to affect the normal check-in of other guests.

Some so-called special requests were rejected. The life safety of the leaders was also guaranteed. The pier is the back door of the hotel, and there is an exquisite European-style corridor.

Entering the hotel lobby, I was instantly attracted by a small yet luxurious dining area. This should be the place for afternoon tea that my friend Xiang Yunluo strongly recommended. The afternoon tea here is for 97 people. I really want to come back and sit for a while in the afternoon.

Walk through the hotel. Walking out of the main entrance is Shopping&S Road ("B" in the route map). Although Nalan Shiqi is not very interested in "revisiting the old place", Xiao Zhou is happy to drive it again.

There were obviously more cars on this road today, and there were also many motorcycles and bicycles. Unfortunately, the sun still couldn't fully show its face, and the scenery was still not good, but the talent of this road destined it to have its inherent charm, no matter how many times you drive here, you will never be disappointed.

In order to avoid too many tour groups in the wineries of Stellenbosch, we chose to stay in Franschhoek at night, but we didn't study the wineries there in advance. Nalan Shiqi and Yunluo are not experts in tasting red wine, and they just want to buy 1 or 2 bottles of good taste. So Xiao Zhou recommended a winery.

The winery is located on the side of the highway. The gate is very grand. I forgot to see the name when I went in. There is a large vineyard on the side of a long road. There are mountains in front and the scenery is beautiful.

There were not many people in the wine tasting area. If you just want to taste wine, you can choose from 2 flavors, 3 flavors, or 4 flavors. The wines you taste are designated, and the wines you taste are relatively good. If you buy more than R100, you can taste 2 flavors for free; if you buy more than R200, you can taste 3 flavors for free.

If you spend more than R300, you can taste 4 kinds for free. Yunluo tried 2 kinds first, one red and one white, but didn't like the taste very much. Nalan Shiqi likes a sweeter taste, so the staff gave Nalan Shiqi and Yunluo another white wine to try. Although Nalan Shiqi wanted to buy red wine, he instantly liked the taste of the bottle of white grape. Although these two restaurants are frequented by tour groups, they have been recommended by netizens. There are 4 "moyo" restaurants in Cape Town and nearby areas. Yunluo booked the Stellenbosch branch on the official website in advance because there are tree house seats there, which is more unique.

Lunch was a buffet for R195 per person; "The Galley" is located on the seashore of Fish Hoek ("C" in the route map), and its main dish is lobster. The most expensive set meal costs more than R400 per person; after weighing the pros and cons, I couldn't resist the temptation of seafood and chose the latter.

It took quite a bit of effort to find this restaurant because it was hidden in a paid beach area and had no specific address. I had to ask several locals before I found it.

In addition to the foreigners who came to the beach, there were two or three teams from mainland China and Hong Kong City in the restaurant. They had studied the menu online in advance and ordered two of the largest set meals. After the dishes were served, Nalan Shiqi, Yunluo and the other two were really shocked. The portions were really huge, and two set meals were a bit too much for three people.

But the taste was a bit disappointing. The lobster was not as big as the one I saw in the photos posted by others online. Nalan Shiqi also didn't like the deep-fried cooking method. The only thing that satisfied me was that the three of us ate so much that we packed up a lot.

Leaving Fish Hoek also means the end of the first stop Cape Town, and heading to Franschhoek ("French Cape" in the route map). The refugees brought French grape varieties, winemaking techniques, architecture and lifestyle.

They established their own farms and gave them French names. Most of the first batch of farms built are still preserved to this day, continuing the family's winemaking industry. The family name is the brand of the wine, so most of the wines here have French names.

Almost all of those farms have their own moving stories. You can learn more about them in the museum in the town center. Unfortunately, when Xiao Zhou sent Yun Luo to the museum, it was closed, so they could only walk around outside, which was quite like a "herb garden". It is called "la galiniere", a small vineyard winery. The name is very French, but the owner is a British. He bought the winery a few years ago and converted it into a family hotel. It is a little far from the town center. The owner said it is 1 kilometer, so Xiao Zhou sent Nalan Shiqi and Yun Luo to the museum.

Back to Cape Town. Yunluo, Annie and Joe strolled all the way back. There were several very beautiful restaurants on both sides of the road. The legendary Michelin was probably one of them. Unfortunately, today was Sunday and many restaurants were closed.

At the entrance of the ice cream shop, Annie and Joe asked the locals about the better restaurants nearby. After getting the answer, they decided to go there for dinner, and Yunluo went back alone. Xiao Zhou said that the public security in this town was okay, but he still repeatedly told them to return to the hotel before dark, watching the sunset.

Yun Luo was alone again and couldn't help but quicken his pace, but he always felt that this kilometer was so long. The road was getting farther and farther away from the town center and more and more desolate. Except for a few black people occasionally passing by on the opposite side of the road, it could almost be described as "there is no village in front and no shop behind."

Finally, after 10 minutes, I saw the hotel logo and couldn't help but breathe a sigh of relief. Although this is a family hotel, the security measures are very good. There is an electronic access control system outside the gate. The owner will give you the remote control of the big iron gate when you give the key. There are also two big dogs in the yard, one male and one female.

Although this family hotel is only 3*, Yunluo booked a two-bedroom room that can accommodate 4 people, without breakfast and wifi, for R1100 per night. The bedroom and living room are very spacious, and the kitchen facilities are impeccable. Each room also comes with a bottle of home-made red wine, which I took all the way back to Sihai City.

It is still in the wine cabinet. No matter what the wine tastes like, this small farm is still very pleasing. In addition to grapes, other fruits such as figs and plums are also grown here, which are very sweet.

There is no mistake in the poem, post, content, and read the book on 6, 9, and bar!

I made an appointment with Xiao Zhou to pick up Lan Shiqi and Yunluo at 10 o'clock, but I woke up naturally before 8 o'clock. When I walked out of the room, I saw that Nalan Shiqi had already started exercising outside.

After breakfast, I still had plenty of time, so I took a short stroll in the yard. There were a few drops of rain falling from the sky, but since there is no air pollution here, even the rainwater is very clean, which I had already proven a few days ago.

Clothes will not have stains when they are wet and will not feel sticky when they are wet. It is said that the locals may not wash the clothes they hang outdoors after they are wet by rain, but will wear them directly after they are dried.

At 9:30, Annie and her group of four set off first, and Yunluo went to the boss's house to check out. I had heard that the boss's house was very unique, and when I entered the house, I was stunned for a moment.

The high beams and large floor-to-ceiling windows directly outline the grandeur of European-style architecture. The hard decoration is simple, but the exquisite antique furniture and various travel collections directly reflect the taste and preferences of the owner. (To be continued...)
