Heart's Pet: President Rong Falls in Love

After half a year of marriage, Rong Jing and Su Yinwan never lived together, always living separately.

In the eyes of the Rong family, Su Yinwan was gentle and graceful, a competent Mrs. Rong...

Chapter 168 Picking Up Her Parents

The next day.

Since the Mid-Autumn Festival is just around the corner, Su Yinwan and Rong Jing have been following their mother's advice and haven't gone back to Qianyue Bay these past few days.

In the morning, Su Yinwan set her alarm for 7:30.

In the old house, she still habitually gets up early and rarely stays in bed.

When she woke up today, she found that Rong Jing was no longer in the room.

Su Yinwan looked around but couldn't find him.

Finally, after washing up and changing her clothes, she went downstairs.

In the living room, Grandpa Rong, Mr. Rong, Mrs. Rong, Duanmu Jun, and Ye Chen were all present.

So it turns out she was the last one to get up at this hour today.

Su Yinwan walked over and greeted them somewhat shyly.

Good morning, Grandpa. Good morning, Mom and Dad.

She didn't forget to greet Duanmu Jun with a smile.

"Xiao Wan, why are you up so early? Why don't you sleep a little longer?"

Rong's mother beckoned her to sit down in the seat next to her.

She specifically instructed the servants in the house not to make too much noise when they passed by the young couple's bedroom in the morning, worried that they might wake up her beloved daughter-in-law.

"I woke up suddenly and couldn't fall back asleep."

"Are you having trouble sleeping? I'll ask Aunt Feng to make you some calming tea tonight, see if that helps?"

Rong's mother looked at her with a worried expression.

Su Yinwan responded with an "Mmm".

"You don't have to be so restricted when you live in the old house. You can sleep whenever you want and wake up whenever you want. Getting a good night's sleep is the most important thing, you know?"

Considering that Su Yinwan might be preoccupied with other matters, Rong's mother offered her heartwarming words of comfort.

"Okay, Mom."

“That’s right, Xiao Wan. Getting enough sleep is good for your health. We’re older, so it’s normal for us to get up early. You young people can sleep in a little later, it’s okay.”

Grandpa Rong said with a smile.

People from the Rong family can be so direct and heartwarming sometimes.

"Mmm," Su Yinwan replied obediently.

Then she noticed that Rong Jing wasn't on the first floor either. Where had he gone?

Su Yinwan was a little confused. Yesterday he said that he would have a few days off and would stay at the old house with her instead of going to the company.

Seeing Su Yinwan looking around, clearly searching for someone, Rong's mother smiled and explained.

"A-Jing went to Beicheng to pick up your parents and Grandpa."

Following the sound, Su Yinwan turned her head to look at Rong's mother.

Are my parents and grandfather coming to Chengdu? I haven't heard them mention it.

"We made this decision suddenly during our video call last night. The Mid-Autumn Festival is all about family reunion; it's only meaningful when the whole family is together to celebrate."

"When we finished talking about this last night, it was already past eleven o'clock. I guess Ah Jing didn't mention it again after seeing that you were asleep."

Su Yinwan was instantly delighted to hear the good news first thing in the morning.

In the past, she would spend the Mid-Autumn Festival at home with her parents and grandfather.

However, she is now married and will be spending the holiday at her husband's family home.

Her older sister is gone, and she's staying in Chengdu again.

The thought that only her parents and grandfather would be at home for the Mid-Autumn Festival made Su Yinwan feel a little sad.

Now, she is truly grateful and happy for the Rong family's arrangement.

The obvious joy on Su Yinwan's face moved Rong's mother deeply.

She could understand Su Yinwan's longing for her family and her guilt about not being able to be with them for long periods.

She has come this far all these years.

Therefore, Rong's mother was able to empathize with her.

Besides, she also knew that Su Yinwan had a very close older sister, but unfortunately she died young.

For family members, the loss of one daughter and the marriage of another means that their beloved daughter can no longer be by their side to offer comfort and warmth, inevitably leaving them feeling empty.

“From now on, we’ll spend every holiday together, whether in Chengdu or Beicheng, as long as we can get together. Xiaowan, what do you think?”

"I suggest it with a smile," Rong's mother suggested.

"Yes, Mom, either is fine."

For Su Yinwan, as long as the people she loves and the people who love her can be together to celebrate the festival, all other requirements can be ignored.

Mr. Rong and Grandpa Rong strongly agreed with Mrs. Rong's approach.

Indeed, when it comes to these matters, Rong's mother handled them better and with more care than they did.

Eight o'clock in the morning.

It was breakfast time at the Rong family's house.

Breakfast is available in both Western and Chinese styles.

Since it's impossible to please everyone, it's best to have a variety of options and let people choose for themselves.

A typical Western breakfast includes butter muffins, cream cheese and nut bread, croissants and waffles, baked bagels, and small toasts.

Next to it are snacks that can be served, including avocado, soft-boiled eggs, tamagoyaki (Japanese rolled omelet), and grilled sausages.

Western-style breakfast drinks include oatmeal latte, iced Americano, and hot milk.

Chinese breakfast options include bird's nest and coconut milk oatmeal porridge, scallop and pork rib porridge, scallion oil noodles, and three-delicacy soup noodles.

It is served with paper-wrapped shumai, mini fried dough sticks, boiled eggs, and spring rolls.

The drinks for a typical Chinese breakfast are walnut and black soybean milk and millet and pumpkin soup.

Rong's father and Ye Chen were used to eating Western-style breakfasts.

They always liked to have a bitter iced Americano in the morning.

Grandpa Rong and his mother, on the other hand, prefer a hot Chinese breakfast.

"Come on, Xiao Wan, have some scallop and pork rib congee first. Aunt Feng is very good at cooking this congee, it tastes great, you should try it."

Rong's mother took the empty bowl in front of Su Yinwan and then ladled a bowl of pork rib porridge for her.

The porridge was still steaming, and the aroma of meat wafted up instantly.

"Be careful, it's hot."

"Thank you, Mom."

Su Yinwan looked at the porridge in the bowl, which was full of dried scallops and pork ribs.

The care that Rong's mother showed her was very obvious.
