At 10 p.m., a man was throwing the remote control around while muttering, "What a piece of junk TV! It can't even get a signal. Secondhand stores are such shady operators. They said it was 60% new, damn it, they just rip off honest people." He then went to take a shower and go to bed, feeling very annoyed, since he had nothing else to do.

The man is Gu Yan, 26 years old this year. He grew up in an orphanage, went to a vocational college after graduation, and worked in a factory. Two days ago, the factory declared bankruptcy.

This resulted in him losing his job and being unable to find a new one for a while, so he could only stay at home, hoping that companies would contact him for interviews.

Meanwhile, an event unseen for thousands of years was unfolding on Earth: the global magnetic field was in turmoil, and the sky had turned golden, appearing eerily beautiful under the moonlight.

Suddenly, a strange insect the size of a human head appeared in a stairwell. This insect had two sharp horns on its head, six legs on its abdomen, four wings on its back, two golden eyes, and sharp teeth. Its whole body was golden.

However, it seemed to have suffered some serious injury, with cracks all over its body and even overflowing with crimson-gold blood. Suddenly, it passed through the wall and saw the man sleeping soundly on the bed.

It teleported above the man, its abdomen writhing. In a short while, it spat out an egg with a pale golden glow from the mouth that had terrified thousands, and then spat out three drops of golden blood onto the egg.

Immediately, the golden egg absorbed the water like a person in the desert finding water.

Seeing this, the strange insect felt relieved. Its aura noticeably weakened, but it didn't seem to care. It manipulated the egg into the man's mouth on the bed until it merged with him.

The strange insect glanced at the top of the room with its golden eyes, then at the man on the bed, showing a hint of reluctance. But the reluctance vanished in an instant. It knew it had to leave, or it would be able to detect the presence of the insect. Although it had temporarily blocked the presence of the insect, it couldn't do it for too long.

The reason it flees everywhere is to find a place to lay its eggs unexpectedly and to hide its presence to avoid being discovered.

Then, sensing that the time was about right, it flapped its wings a few times and emitted a golden light that entered Gu Yan's brain.

Then, with another flap of its wings, it tore open a section of space and slipped inside. At the same time, the golden light in the sky gradually dissipated.

When he woke up the next morning, he felt very hungry, so he got out of bed to cook. However, his legs were sore and weak, as if he had done dozens of rounds the night before. The feeling of hunger rushed to his head, and he quickly leaned against the wall to find the instant food he had bought.

I ate about ten pieces of bread and five packets of instant noodles before I felt less hungry. But there was no more food in the house, so I went downstairs to buy more food to have on hand.

As he walked, he thought about work, but then shook his head. After all, he had been working for several years and had saved up over 100,000 dragon coins after deducting various expenses. There shouldn't be any major problems for the time being. He should take care of his stomach first.

After buying two boxes of bread and a few chicken legs, he went back to his small room on the fourth floor. Because it was in a remote area, and most importantly, cheap, there was no elevator. He threw the bread on the table and went to look in the mirror. He used a toothbrush to flatten his tongue and then held a light on it, but he couldn't see any difference.

"Strange, why am I so hungry today? Even if I'm exhausted, I shouldn't be eating this much." He began to doubt his body, but he thought he'd wait a few more days. Then suddenly, a wave of nausea washed over him, and he went to the bathroom to vomit. Ugh... ah...

After cleaning the acidic water from the pool, he found something the size of a soybean. He quickly rinsed it with water, took it out to examine it, and was really frightened. Could there really be something unclean inside?

He shone a light on the soybean-sized object, examining it closely to make sure he didn't recognize it and had never heard of it before. He then searched online for information about it and found a similar article by a netizen. Many insects' larval stages are the size of a grain of rice or a mung bean.

Gu Yan felt that the slightly larger one seemed to be a kind of larval stage of an insect.

Startled, he quickly poured a glass of water and put the insect eggs into it. Gradually, he noticed that the water level was decreasing, but it stopped after the eggs were halfway down. He then scooped the eggs out and examined them carefully.

Is it rare that it has no nutritional value?

He was puzzled, so he tore open the packaging of the chicken leg that he was reluctant to eat and put the worm on it. After a while, he was surprised to find that the worm eggs started to move and crawled inside.

A few minutes later, half of the meat was gone, and they were still eating it quickly.

Ten minutes later, only bones remained. He tapped them with chopsticks, and with a crack, the bones broke, as if they had rotted away.

What surprised him even more was that this insect was so ferocious, eating food hundreds of times its size.

He looked at it more closely and found that it seemed to have grown a head and that its abdomen was starting to feel a little bit full. He took out his bread and gave it to the insects to eat, and they ate it even faster, perhaps because it was easy to digest.

An hour and a half later, the table was empty except for the insects. The insects had grown quite a bit, probably about a size bigger than before. He touched the insects with his chopsticks again and found that there was no reaction. So he became a little bolder and poked it with his finger. When he lifted it up, the insect was already stuck to his hand.

It seemed to be looking at Gu Yan, so Gu Yan took it in front of her and looked at it.

"This little thing seems like a good pet, but it takes up a lot of food," he muttered.

As I was thinking, a light suddenly struck me, as if I had discovered a new continent. That's right, many buffet restaurants allow you to eat as much as you want for a small fee.
