32. Prison Visit

At the foot of the winding, barren mountains stands a prison.

Before the disaster, this place was used to hold serious criminals. After the disaster, most of the prison collapsed, and the vicious criminals inside stole weapons, killed the prison guards, and escaped.

The authorities organized a manhunt, and most of the fugitives were killed on the spot after being caught, but some cunning ones still managed to escape. After the entire city was evacuated, these people secretly sneaked back into the prison.

Because of the hasty evacuation, a lot of weapons were left in the armory, and the rice, flour, cooking oil, and dried goods in the canteen warehouse were also left behind, all of which were occupied by this group of people.

With these supplies, they became bandits, using the dilapidated prison as their base. They killed anyone who passed by and often went out in groups to plunder. They lived a very comfortable life.

The leader was named Wu Hua. He was tall and thin, with a slightly hunched back, a thin face, and deep-set eyes. He always looked at people with a sinister gaze. He was originally a psychopath who had been imprisoned for serial killings. He was quick-witted and ruthless, and none of his men dared to disobey him.

The prison had everything except women. The women they had previously kidnapped had either been tortured to death or become their snacks.

That's right, Wu Hua not only had a sex addiction, but also a cannibalistic streak. Under his influence, his henchmen all took pride in eating people; anyone who hesitated even slightly was considered a coward and would receive a severe beating. Not daring to eat people meant not being a man, and if you weren't a man, Wu Hua would drag you into his private cell and torture you. One person went in there once and became incontinent from then on.

To avoid being punished, his men were practically begging for a woman to fall from the sky. Luckily, about two weeks ago, they captured two women, one older and one younger, while they were out.

The larger one was fiery, but the taste was undeniable; Wu Hua became addicted after trying it. Although she shared it with her subordinates, perhaps fearing it would frighten her, she hadn't even eaten human food for a while. The smaller one, though beautiful, was rather thin and frail; she planned to raise her for a while first.

But Wu Hua's initial excitement faded quickly; after only a few days, he lost interest in the larger one and turned his attention to the smaller one. Just as he was about to make his move, that little bitch actually ran away!

This caused an uproar. Wu Hua was furious, his eyes red with rage, and ordered the largest one to be sliced up and eaten as sashimi. That wasn't all. Before, he would drag people into the house under the pretext of not daring to eat them. Now, anyone who dared not look him in the eye was a coward! Anyone who dared not fight him was also a coward! Every single one of these men fell victim to his cruelty, and for a time, everyone was in agony.

That day, the prison cells were filled with the usual stench of blood. Intermittent screams echoed from the inner cells. None of the men in the outer cells dared to look up, fearing they would be dragged in next.

Suddenly, with a soft "thump," a furry figure leaped in through the hole in the roof—it was a cat! Its fur was covered in snowflakes, and its tail was held high. It nimbly dodged the obstacles and landed in the center of the cell.

Everyone was immediately drawn to it. It was so fat; if they slaughtered it, it would be enough for several meals!

The burly man with a full beard was the first to grab an iron rod. In his haste to stand up, he knocked over an empty wine bottle next to him. Another skinny man, looking like a monkey, also drew his knife, licked his chapped lips, and said, "Take him alive! Skin him and use him as a pillow."

Hua Hua seemed oblivious to the danger. Instead, she stopped and glanced back at them, her tail still held high. This only fueled their envy. The burly man cursed and pounced first, followed closely by the others.

Hua Hua remained calm and unhurried. With a few leaps, she jumped onto the roof, disappeared into the hole, and vanished without a trace.

"Don't let it get away!" someone shouted, and the group rushed out in a swarm.

Unbeknownst to them, the moment they stepped out of the prison gates, a ripple silently spread through the air.

Hua Hua ran ahead, her paws leaving faint paw prints in the snow.

The skinny monkey stared at the cat's back, but his gaze suddenly wavered: on the snow in front of him, there were three bulging bags of rice and flour, with gaps at the top of the bags, and white rice grains scattered on the snow, looking very tempting.

He felt a surge of warmth in his heart and was about to reach out to hug him when he caught a glimpse of the stubble-faced man staring at him, his face contorted in pain, his eyes fierce as if he wanted to devour him.

"What the hell are you looking at?" Skinny Monkey gripped his short knife tightly, his back tingling with dread.

The bearded man seemed not to hear, his gaze fixed on the skinny monkey's back. In his eyes, those weren't rice and flour, but two boxes of brand-new rifles, with even the bullets neatly arranged beside them.

With a gun, he wouldn't have to put up with Wu Hua's tantrums anymore! The stubble-faced man's malice surged instantly, and he roared, "That's mine!" He raised the iron rod and smashed it at the skinny monkey.

The skinny monkey rolled to the side in fright. He thought the stubble-faced man was going to steal his rice and noodles, and his eyes turned red. "You dare to steal from me? You're asking for it!"

The short knife stabbed towards the bearded man's stomach, the blade tearing through his cotton-padded coat and leaving a trail of blood.

Meanwhile, the remaining few were also caught in the chaos. Some saw a half-empty box of canned goods piled behind a rock, others saw a box of cigarettes on the snow. In their eyes, their companions had all become enemies robbing them of supplies; everyone's face was contorted, their eyes brimming with greed and malice.

"I saw it first!"

"Get out of my way! He's mine!"

"Don't take my things!"

Curses, screams, and the clanging of metal echoed through the snow.

Some were hit on the head with iron bars, others had their throats slashed with daggers. They fought each other like madmen, their eyes fixed on supplies and carnage.

Hiding behind the slope, Huangfu Jin's forehead was covered in cold sweat, her face pale, and her mental energy was almost exhausted, but she didn't want to stop. She wanted to watch these people kill each other, to avenge Sister Hong. She stared intently at the scene before her, manipulating the illusion to amplify the greed and malice in their hearts to the extreme, exposing their ugliest side.

After a short while, the sounds of fighting subsided. The last one standing was the bearded man, covered in blood, leaning on his iron rod, panting heavily, thinking he had won.

He staggered toward the rifle he had "seen," but just as he was about to reach for it, the scene before him suddenly changed: there was no rifle, only a cold corpse on the ground and snow stained red.

"How could this be..." The stubble-faced man was stunned. Before he could react, a figure suddenly sprang out from behind the slope, holding a dagger in her hand. It was Huangfu Jinrang. Her eyes were cold, and her face was expressionless. She stabbed him hard in the stomach.

"Ah!" The stubble-faced man screamed, looking down at the dagger in his stomach, then looking up at Huangfu Jinrang, finally recognizing her, "It's you...you little bitch..."

Huangfu Jinrang didn't speak. She pulled out her dagger and stabbed him in the chest again. One stab after another, each one filled with all her hatred and pain. Hong Jie's screams, the days she had been tortured... all her grievances and anger erupted at this moment.

The bearded man collapsed on the snow, twitched a few times, and then died.

Huangfu Jin gasped for breath, staring intently at the prison gate.

Sure enough, not long after, Wu Hua staggered out of the prison, pulling up his pants. Hearing the commotion outside, he had intended to come out and see what was happening, but when he saw the corpses scattered on the ground and Huangfu Jinrang standing in the snow, his eyes instantly turned red, as if he wanted to devour someone. "You little bitch! How dare you touch my people!"

He drew his pistol, aimed it at Huangfu Jinrang, and pulled the trigger. But the bullet, as soon as it left the barrel, seemed to hit an invisible wall, hovered in mid-air, spun a few times, and then slammed onto the snow with a "thud."

Wu Hua hesitated for a moment, then pulled the trigger a few more times, but to no avail. At that moment, a commotion came from behind the slope, and Fu Yunong, Shi Dong, Xiao Linfang, and Lin Songsong came out one by one. Shi Dong's gun was already pointed at Wu Hua.

"Who are you?" Wu Hua's voice trembled. She took two steps back, but didn't notice the corpse under her feet and almost tripped.

Shi Dong didn't speak, but pulled the trigger. "Bang! Bang!" Several shots rang out, and Wu Hua's gun was knocked from his hand, leaving two bloody holes in his knees. He screamed and fell to his knees, blood flowing down his trouser legs.

“Go ahead,” Shi Dong said to Huangfu Jinrang, turning to the side.

Huangfu Jinrang, his face covered in blood, grinned as he approached Wu Hua, using his special ability on her.

Wu Hua felt a wave of dizziness. When he opened his eyes again, the corpses on the ground suddenly moved: his blood-covered companions twisted and scrambled to their feet, swaying as they surrounded him.

They resented him for taking the gun away and for his usual bullying. They surrounded him, their cold hands grabbing Wu Hua's arms and legs, some biting his shoulder. Wu Hua screamed in agony, his very soul trembling.

Immediately afterwards, the bearded man emerged from the crowd, holding a machete and looking venomous.

Wu Hua tried to dodge, but was held down firmly, and he watched helplessly as the knife fell...

What Fu Yunong and the others saw was that Wu Hua suddenly picked up the dagger on the ground, her eyes unfocused, and let out a shrill scream before stabbing herself.

Not long after, Wu Hua's screams grew weaker and weaker, two lines of bloody tears flowed from the corners of her eyes, her body went limp, and she collapsed on the snow, lifeless.

Huangfu Jinrang cried and laughed at the same time. They were all dead! Sister Hong's revenge was finally achieved!

Hua Hua walked over from the side and gently nuzzled her arm, as if to comfort her.

Fu Yunong walked over and handed her a clean handkerchief. "It's all over."

Huangfu Jinrang took the handkerchief and wiped the blood and tears from his face.

Sister Hong, you can rest in peace now.

After dealing with Wu Hua, the group went into the prison.

As soon as they stepped through the gate, a stench mixed with the smell of blood, alcohol, and excrement hit them. Fu Yunong instinctively frowned and covered her mouth and nose with her sleeve. The others also looked uncomfortable.

The ground was a mess, with empty bottles lying scattered about, and gnawed bones piled up haphazardly. Several human skulls were even visible, their eye sockets staring blankly at them. The corner was even worse, with hardened, dark excrement mixed with uncleaned filth. The sight made the group feel nauseous.

They couldn't stand being here for even a moment longer, and it was so difficult for Huangfu Jin to be trapped here for so long. Xiao Linfang looked at the little girl, her eyes filled with heartache.

The group walked down the corridor and found a bearded man tied to a bed in a small cell. He was completely naked, covered in bruises, and his body was filthy. His mouth was gagged with a rag. When he saw them enter, his eyes showed surprise and confusion.

Shi Dong remained unfazed, ripped the rag out of his mouth, and after inquiring about the whereabouts of the supplies, readily sent him on his way.

Following the man's instructions, the group quickly found the supplies, but unfortunately, there were fewer than expected. There were only a few half-full bags of rice and flour, a few packets of dried vegetables and a few pieces of cured meat, and a small half-full barrel of soybean oil left in the oil drum. Apart from that, there was nothing else.

"Is that all?" Lin Songsong scratched his head. Could they really stay here peacefully?

Fu Yunong smiled but didn't speak. When life is uncertain, many people live each day as if it were their last, emphasizing enjoying life while they can and not caring what tomorrow will bring.

Next, the group went to the western compartment. There, they found piles of weapons that Wu Hua had hidden: over a dozen pistols and rifles, and three boxes of unopened ammunition.

Shi Dong inspected the guns and found that most of them were still usable.

Fu Yunong was somewhat relieved, "Luckily, these things weren't used on us, otherwise it would have been troublesome."

Shi Dong smiled. People like them trust no one.

After putting away the supplies and weapons, Shi Dong took out a lighter, lit it with a "click," and threw it out.

The flames shot up instantly and quickly spread, with thick smoke billowing into the sky and obscuring half the heavens.

As the car drove away along the snow-covered road, Huangfu Jinrang leaned against the car window, a relieved smile finally appearing on his face.
