Heaven's Punishment (Apocalypse)

Heavenly fires incinerated cities, floods raged, and plagues ran rampant, turning the human world into a purgatory. Less than one in a hundred survivors remained.

Fu Yunong was unexpectedly p...

"Hey, you surnamed Yin! Hand over my men, or your son's life is in danger!" Fu Yunong grabbed Yin Kuan in front of her as a shield and shouted at the other side.

She was surrounded by heavily armed soldiers, all pointing their guns at her, but no one dared to fire.

Seeing that there was no movement for a long time, Fu Yunong raised her hand and shot Yin Kuan in the calf.

"Ah!!!" Yin Kuan was originally in a daze from the pain, but this shot made him convulse all over, and his clothes were soaked with cold sweat.

He looked into Fu Yunong's icy eyes; what gentle demeanor? She was clearly a female devil!

Soon, the crowd parted to make way, and Old Yin walked in with his hands behind his back. Behind him, the guards were dragging Shi Dong and Lin Songsong, who were bound hand and foot and were still unconscious.

Looking at the situation before him, he sighed deeply, "Why did it have to come to this? Wouldn't it be better if we cooperated properly and acted like family?"

"May your ancestors for eight generations be cursed!" Fu Yunong felt disgusted by his hypocritical act and spat. "Stop talking nonsense! Send them over here!"

Old Master Yin's face darkened, and he patiently persuaded, "If you release him, I will forgive and forget, and we can continue to cooperate as before. I will still treat you as an honored guest."

"Cooperation?" Fu Yunong laughed angrily. "You father and son aren't even worthy to carry my shoes!"

Old Master Yin shook his head helplessly, "Why are you so ungrateful? Since that's how it is, then don't blame me."

"Dad! You can't! Save me, Dad!" Yin Kuan was terrified and screamed desperately.

A flicker of pity crossed Old Yin's eyes, but it was quickly replaced by ruthlessness. "Kuan'er, those who achieve great things don't concern themselves with trifles. I've wronged you in this life, but I'll make it up to you in the next." With that, his eyes hardened, and he roared, "Take him alive!"

But before he could finish speaking, a cold blade was pressed against his throat. Shi Dong's chilling voice came from behind him, "Tell your men to back off."

Old Master Yin's expression changed drastically, and without a moment's hesitation, he shouted, "Step back! All of you, step back!"

Fu Yunong's face lit up with joy, and she tossed Shi Dong a bottle of water. Shi Dong bit it open with her teeth and poured it over Lin Songsong's head.

The cold water jolted Lin Songsong awake, instantly bringing her to her senses.

"I'm sorry, the situation is special." Shi Dong suppressed a laugh, grabbed Old Yin's throat with one hand, and untied her with the other.

Lin Songsong shook his head, immediately realized what was happening, raised his hand, and a metal shield unfolded, surrounding Shi Dong and the old man as he rushed towards Fu Yunong.

The situation reversed instantly. The guards looked at the kidnapped Elder Yin, exchanging bewildered glances.

Just then, Xiao Linfang arrived in her car, and the group quickly jumped into the car, dragging the hostage along.

"Stop the car in front!" Shouts came from ahead after driving only a short distance, and the intersection was completely blocked.

What's more troublesome is that there are four or five wind-type ability users floating in the sky, their clothes fluttering in the wind, looking down at the off-road vehicle, but their faces are blue from the cold, which makes them less intimidating.

Xiao Linfang lightly stepped on the brakes, and Fu Yunong kicked the blood-covered Yin Kuan out of the car.

This is much more spacious now.

Shi Dong grabbed Old Yin by the back of his collar and pushed half of his body out of the car door, leaving him only an inch off the ground. The man was so frightened that his face turned pale.

"Get out of the way!" Shi Dong shouted sharply, and at the same time said to Xiao Linfang, "Charge!"

Xiao Linfang slammed on the gas pedal, and the guards scrambled to make way. Because Elder Yin was still in their hands, the superhumans only dared to stay a short distance behind.

The car sped to the riverbank, where the bridge had already been blocked off. Rows of gun barrels were pointed at them from behind sandbags, and tanks and rocket launchers could even be seen.

Xiao Linfang jerked the steering wheel, and the car came to rest on the side of the bridge. The group quickly got out of the car.

Seeing this situation, Old Yin, unwilling to give up, advised, "Turning back is the right path; you can't escape."

"I almost forgot this old man is also a superhuman," Xiao Linfang reminded him. Shi Dong raised her hand and delivered a heavy blow, knocking him unconscious on the spot and throwing him beside the car.

With an ambush in front and pursuers behind, the group stood back to back in a circle.

Shi Dong shouted again, "Final warning! Everyone get out of the way! Otherwise, you will be killed without mercy!"

The guards exchanged bewildered glances, but without orders from their superiors, they had no choice but to grit their teeth and hold their ground. Meanwhile, the superhumans mostly wore expressions of disdain; with such a large numerical disadvantage, they could wear them down!

Shi Dong's eyes were filled with icy glints. Since that's how it is, then she can't blame them.

Fu Yunong knew a fierce battle was inevitable, so she quickly took out rifles, grenades and other weapons from her spatial storage and distributed them to her companions. She then told Hua Hua, "I won't be able to take care of you when the fighting starts, so hide well."

Hua Hua meowed and scratched her ear with her hind paw: Who do you think you are?

As they loaded their bullets, the enemy immediately concentrated their fire, but the shield blocked it.

The battle was about to break out, and Fu Yunong and her companions decisively counterattacked. A large number of the guards on the other side fell instantly. The superhumans on the other side immediately used their superpowers to block, but the range was limited, and the casualties continued to increase.

Fire dragons, earth spikes, water blades... all sorts of supernatural abilities attacked the group.

Huangfu Jinrang concentrated his energy, his pupils suddenly contracted, and his mental power surged forward. Several nearby superhumans suddenly felt a sharp pain in their brains, and after only two seconds of blankness, they were struck in vital areas.

Suddenly, dark clouds gathered in the sky, thunder roared, and blinding lightning rolled in the clouds, turning everyone's face pale.

Some of the more timid ones were so frightened that their legs began to tremble, and the others in the sky quickly fell back to the ground.

At that moment, a woman in a black combat uniform stepped out; she was the one who had shouted for the car to stop earlier. She was in her forties, tall, and had a menacing scar on her face.

She glanced at the dark clouds overhead and said, "There's no need for a fight to the death. You're already surrounded and can't escape. Surrendering might give you a chance to live."

Fu Yunong sneered and kicked Old Man Yin on the ground, her meaning all too clear.

"We can just find someone else! He's so old, he should have been moved out a long time ago so a younger person could take his place!" The woman shrugged nonchalantly.

Upon hearing this, Secretary Li immediately rushed out from the crowd, followed by a group of trusted guards. He pointed at the woman and roared, "Huang Chen, how dare you say such things! It's utterly rebellious!" Then he turned to the crowd, "Everyone, put down your weapons! Ensure the safety of the commander! Anyone who dares to harm Elder Yin is an enemy of the entire base!"

Half of the guards immediately lowered their guns, but the other half hesitated and looked at Huang Chen. Even the superhumans were watching.

Fu Yunong and the others exchanged glances, a knowing smile playing on their lips. It seemed this base wasn't so monolithic after all.

But the next second, Huang Chen suddenly raised her hand and waved it, and a sharp wind blade appeared out of thin air, instantly beheading Secretary Li. She looked at Fu Yunong again, "How about it? Let's each take a step back and reduce unnecessary casualties."

“Then tell them to move aside!” Fu Yunong said, raising her chin.

Huang Chen chuckled and shook his head, "No! Your only option is to surrender!"

Then what's the point of talking nonsense!

Shi Dong suddenly realized, "She's stalling for time!"

Sure enough, Huang Chen suddenly looked up and shouted sharply, "Everyone, listen to my command! Kill them with all your might!"

"Boom!"

Before she finished speaking, several thunder dragons as thick as buckets crashed down from the dark clouds to the ground, and the resulting electric current swept across the entire area, instantly turning more than a dozen superhumans into charcoal.

Huang Chen's expression changed drastically, and he shouted commands, "Water, fire, and ice, charge forward! Earth elementalists, quickly build walls! Metal elementalists, protect your teammates! Wind elementalists, flank from behind! The rest, attack wherever you can!"

Under her command, the remaining superhumans quickly formed teams and launched attacks in turns.

"Songsong! Hold on!" Xiao Linfang shouted, a faint blue light emanating from her palm as she channeled her supernatural power into Lin Songsong's body.

Under her nourishment, Lin Songsong's shield became even stronger, managing to withstand the attack.

But several heavy artillery pieces on the bridge were already aimed at them, which was exactly what Huang Chen wanted.

Electric arcs surged in Shi Dong's eyes, his whole body was wrapped in lightning, and with a push of his feet, he turned into a blur, swept across the bridge and returned. The soldiers operating the heavy artillery on the bridge all clutched their necks and fell down.

She plays with cannons, huh? She does that too!

Fu Yunong pulled a hand cannon out of the system, and Lin Songsong immediately reached out to support her back.

"Bang!" The shell whistled as it flew towards the crowd, knocking down many people. Several superhumans who couldn't dodge in time were blown to pieces.

Hua Hua wasn't idle either. Taking advantage of the chaos, she rushed out and bit off several lone superhumans in the waist with a few bites.

Huangfu Jinrang activated her supernatural power again, trying to interfere with Huang Chen, but unexpectedly, she was hit by a backlash that caused a sharp pain in her head.

No! This woman's mental strength is stronger than hers!

She immediately changed her target and successively took down several superhumans.

The battle reached a stalemate, with lightning, fireballs, and metal fragments flying wildly across the battlefield, accompanied by shouts of battle and explosions.

A surge of lightning erupted from Shi Dong's palm, countless fine strands of blue-purple static electricity surging forth and intertwining to form a massive static cage. Anyone inside the cage who moved would have their skin sizzling and crackling from the electric current, emitting screams of agony.

Shi Dong smiled slightly. It was indeed quite useful, but it lacked intimidation.

She activated her power once more. The thunder dragon in the sky became even more violent, and with her shout of "Drop!", a blinding white light flashed before everyone's eyes, followed by the earth shaking and deafening thunderclaps.

When the light faded, all that remained was devastation; less than ten percent of the population had survived.

The crew-cut man survived by sheer luck, but like his teammates, he was terrified and retreated repeatedly, completely lacking any fighting spirit.

Huang Chen stared at the scene before him in disbelief. "Impossible! This is impossible! This is not a power that a human could possess!"

Shi Dong stared at her coldly, arcs of electricity dancing on his fingertips. "Still want to fight?"

Huang Chen's expression shifted between anger and uncertainty. Finally, he gave a dejected smile and waved his hand weakly, "Get out of the way..."

The soldiers immediately made way for them.

Fu Yunong kicked Old Yin away. With a "bang," a bullet pierced the back of his head and exited between his eyebrows. His body fell heavily to the ground, his buttocks sticking out in a strange position.

A powerful figure thus met his untimely end.

Huang Chen watched without blinking, his face expressionless, as Fu Yunong put away her gun and then released a car from her spatial storage.

Fu Yunong glanced at Sun Hui in the crowd one last time before walking away with her companions.
