Honey Grapefruit Candy (GD)

A big-shot and his young wife, tropes and subversions of tropes - when it comes to love, whoever falls first loses.

The first meeting:

From the female lead's perspective: Hmm, that ...

Although Su You reminded G-Dragon of the primary task of "meeting the parents," his anticipation and enthusiasm for the wedding remained undiminished. He was like a child who had suddenly found the ultimate goal in life, brimming with energy.

Over the next few days, Su You discovered that her fiancé had started a strange "dual-track" mode.

On the one hand, he solemnly asked a Chinese teacher for help and began to practice Chinese diligently. His halting practice could often be heard in the living room and studio.

"Hello, uncles and aunts! I am Kwon Ji-yong."

"Please, rest assured, hand over, Su, You, to, me."

"I will be good to her for the rest of my life."

His serious demeanor was even more focused than when preparing for a world tour. Sometimes, when Su You woke up in the middle of the night, she could even hear him mumbling a few Chinese words in his sleep, which made her both amused and touched.

On the other hand, his "preliminary research" on the wedding did not stop, but he changed his strategy. He no longer buried himself in the research alone, but became Su You's "inspiration collector".

“Youyou, look at this,” he would bring his phone closer, the screen showing a tranquil forest. “How about we have a small ceremony in a place like this, with only our closest family and friends?”

Or, "Honey, do you think a sunset at the beach is more beautiful, or a morning at a castle is more romantic?"

Even, "I have a friend who knows a great designer, let's find some time to go and see the initial designs for the wedding dress?"

He no longer acts unilaterally, but instead shares and discusses every idea with Su You. In his words, "This is our wedding, and every detail should bear the mark of both of us."

That evening, the two snuggled on the sofa. Kwon Ji-yong held up a tablet and showed Su Li pictures of several wedding venues he had carefully selected. Iye curled up beside Su You's legs, purring contentedly.

“Look at this villa in Jeju Island. It’s very private and faces the sea.” He scrolled through the pictures, his eyes sparkling.

"And this one, in a small winery in France, very quiet and with beautiful scenery."

"Or... shall we hold it back in China? In your hometown, so that all your relatives and friends can easily come and participate."

Su You leaned on his shoulder, listening to his gentle narration, her heart filled with an immense sense of happiness. She realized that when Kwon Ji-yong was considering these things, he wasn't just planning a wedding; he was carefully constructing the beginning of her dreams.

"Anything is fine," Su You said softly, lifting her head to kiss him on the cheek. "As long as the groom is you, anywhere is fine."

Kwon Ji-yong paused for a moment, then a huge smile spread across his face. He put down his tablet, turned around, and hugged Su You tightly, resting his chin on the top of her head.

“Su You,” his voice was deep and gentle, “I will make you the happiest bride in the world.”

"I'm very happy now," Su You said with a muffled laugh in his arms.

“Not enough,” G-Dragon said stubbornly, loosening his grip on her slightly and gazing into her eyes. “I want everyone to know how lucky I, G-Dragon, am to have married you.”

His gaze was so intense and sincere that Su You's heart skipped a beat. Just as she was about to speak, Kwon Ji-yong seemed to suddenly remember something, and his expression became a little tense.

"By the way, Youyou... um... what do your parents usually like? Will they really like the gift I prepared?"

Seeing him instantly switch from romantic mode to "anxious mode of a prospective son-in-law meeting his future in-laws," Su You finally couldn't help but laugh out loud.

It seems that on the road to the wedding hall, her famous fiancé will first have to successfully pass the test of meeting her parents. And she can't wait to see the expressions on her parents' faces when they meet this "prospective son-in-law" who is both a big star and a bit silly.

The days to come will surely be very interesting. Su You thought to herself, and took the initiative to wrap her arms around his neck, giving him a comforting kiss.
