The Return of Superman (2)
At exactly seven o'clock in the morning, the iconic doorbell of "The Return of Superman" rang throughout the apartment. G-Dragon took a deep breath, picked up Min-seo who had just woken up and was still sleepy, and opened the door. The camera instantly captured the complex expression on his face, a mixture of tension, anticipation, and a hint of sleep deprivation.
"Hello everyone, I'm Kwon Ji-yong, and this is... the most important lady in my life, Kwon Min-seo." He introduced her somewhat awkwardly to the camera. Little Min-seo in his arms stared curiously at the dark camera lens, then suddenly pouted, seemingly unhappy about being woken up.
The challenge officially begins from this moment.
Morning: The battle with bottles and diapers
Following the "secret manual," G-Dragon first placed Min-seo on the play mat and gave her a few soft rattles, then rushed to the kitchen to prepare her breakfast milk. He strictly followed the notes: first, add 150ml of 45-degree warm water, then add three level scoops of milk powder... tighten the lid, shake... test the temperature on his wrist... perfect!
He proudly handed the bottle to his daughter, Minshu, who eagerly took it in her mouth and sucked hard a few times. Then... she frowned, spat out the nipple with a "plop," and burst into tears.
"What's wrong? Is it hot? Something's not right!" Kwon Ji-yong panicked and frantically tested the temperature again, but it was fine. He tried to put the nipple back in, and Min-seo cried even harder, tilting her little head back as far as she could.
The PD and staff in the monitoring room couldn't help but chuckle. Finally, following the writer's whispered reminder, "G-Dragon, did you steep it too quickly? There are bubbles; the baby will get gas if he drinks it?"
Kwon Ji-yong suddenly realized what was going on, quickly opened the bottle to release the gas, and then, following the nanny's instructions, rubbed the bottle in his palm. After another attempt, Min-seo finally drank, but her little brows were still slightly furrowed, as if she were complaining that her father wasn't professional enough.
After feeding, it was time to change the diaper. G-Dragon, as if facing a formidable enemy, carefully placed his daughter on the changing table, unbuttoning her onesie with relatively smooth movements. But when he tore open the old diaper and saw that patch of "golden poop," he instinctively held his breath. He meticulously wiped her clean with wet wipes, strictly adhering to the "front to back" principle, then applied baby powder and put on a new diaper… The whole process took more than five minutes, and he was so nervous that sweat beaded on his forehead. When he finally finished and picked up the clean baby, he let out a long sigh of relief, as if he had accomplished a great feat, and flashed a relieved, slightly silly smile at the camera.
Afternoon: A disastrous afternoon nap and an impromptu lullaby
The morning's "success" gave Kwon Ji-yong some confidence. At nap time, following his notes, he gently walked around the living room with Min-seo in his arms, humming the melody of "Butterfly." However, Min-seo seemed unusually energetic today, her big eyes darting around, her little hands gripping her father's collar, showing no signs of sleepiness.
After walking for twenty minutes, G-Dragon's arms started to ache, and his singing voice sounded a little tired. Min-seo, instead of falling asleep, began to fidget impatiently, making whimpering noises.
"My little darling, please get some sleep, Daddy's dying..." G-Dragon pleaded softly to his daughter, his voice pitiful.
The monitoring room erupted in laughter. Just as Kwon Ji-yong was about to give up and ask for help from the audience (Su You), he caught sight of a guitar in the corner. A sudden inspiration struck him; he sat down on the sofa with Min-seo in his arms and picked up the guitar.
He didn't sing "Butterfly" again, but instead improvised a melody he had never heard before, exceptionally gentle and soothing, humming a tune without specific lyrics, his gaze always tenderly fixed on his daughter's face. That melody, like the sunlight on a spring morning, like a babbling brook in the forest, carried a magical power to soothe the soul.
A miracle happened. Minshu, who had been restless, gradually calmed down, her big eyes focused on her father, her long eyelashes slowly drooping, once, twice... Finally, she fell into a deep sleep to the lullaby her father improvised.
G-Dragon remained embracing his daughter, too afraid to move, only gesturing with his eyes for the VJ to turn off some of the lights. Looking at his daughter's sleeping face and listening to her even breathing, a tremendous sense of accomplishment and indescribable tenderness filled his heart. This moment brought him more satisfaction than any sold-out concert.
Evening: Su You's surprise visit to the set and the recurrence of "disaster"
Just as G-Dragon was enjoying this moment of peace, the doorbell rang softly again. He carefully placed the sleeping Min-seo into the crib and tiptoed to open the door.
Outside the door stood Su You, carrying a lunchbox and beaming. "I heard the two 'superheroes' at home did a fantastic job today?" she asked in a low voice.
G-Dragon pulled her in as if she were his savior, pointed to the crib, mouthed "asleep," and couldn't hide his smugness.
Su You's arrival eased Kwon Ji-yong's tense nerves considerably. The two sat in the dining room, eating the nutritious dinner Su You had brought, quietly discussing the day's "battle results." Just then, the baby monitor emitted the soft whimpering sound of Min-seo waking up.
Kwon Ji-yong immediately put down his chopsticks, strode into the room, and carried his awakened daughter out, showing her off to Su You like a treasure. "Look, our Min-seo is awake now, isn't she even more beautiful?"
He held his daughter and instinctively wanted to hold her upright to burp her. Su You was about to remind him that he didn't need to burp her right away since she had just woken up when she saw Kwon Ji-yong skillfully set up his daughter, cup his hands, and gently pat her back.
One, two...
"Hiccup~~~"
With a loud burp, a warm, milky-white liquid gushed out again, smearing G-Dragon's entire body and even splashing onto his expensive limited-edition hoodie that he hadn't had time to change out of.
Time stood still once again.
G-Dragon remained frozen in place, still in the position of burping, his expression instantly shifting from smugness to the familiar astonishment and bewilderment.
Su You was taken aback at first, then couldn't help but cover her mouth, her shoulders shaking violently. Finally, she couldn't hold it in any longer and burst out laughing. While laughing, she quickly picked up the gauze towel next to her and went to help.
"It seems... Minshu and her father's 'communication' style is still quite direct." Su You smiled, skillfully wiping him and her daughter.
G-Dragon looked at his messy chest, then at his daughter in his arms who looked innocent and even a little smug. In the end, he could only smile helplessly. He lowered his head and kissed his daughter's little face, saying in a doting tone, "Okay, you win. It seems that Daddy's 'Superman' armor needs to be upgraded with an anti-spit-up function."
This scene was faithfully captured on camera. There was no script, no design, only the most authentic struggles of life and the deep, unbreakable bond of family affection flowing within them. The PD in the monitoring room watched the footage with a satisfied smile; he knew this episode was destined to become a classic.
