Chapter 305 A Disappointing Meeting

With a loud roar, the plane finally landed. Gu Yiming had been sitting for a long time, and his whole body ached. He stood up and stretched a little. Although he was very tired, he couldn't suppress his joy because he was about to see Jiang Hua, whom he had been longing to see. A smile involuntarily appeared on his face.

He arrived at the manor quickly, his excitement evident. Upon seeing Gu Yiming, the manor's butler hurriedly came forward to greet him, "You've arrived! You must be tired from your journey."

Xia Junxi, who had been waiting at the door for a long time, followed up and said, "Thank you for your hard work."

Gu Yiming was very grateful that he had taken such good care of Jiang Hua, and said politely, "It's no trouble at all. It's you who deserves all the credit for taking care of Xiao Ya."

After exchanging pleasantries for a while, the butler led Gu Yiming to see Jiang Hua. Gu Yiming's heart pounded all the way; he was finally about to see Jiang Hua, whom he had been longing to see.

Walking along the path, a giraffe would appear one moment, then a few monkeys the next, creating a lively scene, much like a complete zoo. Not only were there a wide variety of animals, but the plants were also abundant, including rare and precious species. Vines on both sides meandered and twisted, extending all the way to the end of the path. Walking along this picturesque path, Gu Yiming's initial tension eased considerably, and he felt much lighter.

After walking for a while, they arrived at Jiang Hua's resting place. The butler said to Gu Yiming, "This is it. She should be resting in her room by the stairs on the second floor." Gu Yiming nodded and quickened his pace. He jogged upstairs and stopped in front of Jiang Hua's door. He breathed a sigh of relief and gently pushed open the door, stepping inside. He saw Jiang Hua sitting at the table, leaning against the edge, resting with her head slightly bowed.

Seeing her slightly tired expression, Gu Yiming quietly walked up behind her and put his arms around Jiang Hua. Jiang Hua was startled by this sudden action and trembled violently. Gu Yiming whispered in her ear, "Xiao Ya, it's me. I've come to see you."

Hearing that it was Gu Yiming, Jiang Hua felt relieved. She turned her head and looked at Gu Yiming calmly, saying, "You're here. Have a seat." Her tone was indifferent and devoid of emotion.

Gu Yiming squeezed her hand. "I missed you so much. I couldn't get in touch with you these past few days, and I was so worried, so I rushed over to see you. I'm relieved to see that you're alright." Seeing her so indifferent, he felt a pang of sadness.

Even though her expression could deceive, she couldn't lie to herself. Jiang Hua was actually both happy and excited, but she stubbornly held back. Seeing that she was in low spirits, Gu Yiming told her funny stories to cheer her up, sometimes even adding silly faces. Jiang Hua couldn't hold back any longer and burst out laughing.

Seeing that she finally smiled, Gu Yiming was relieved.

The relationship between the two finally eased, and the atmosphere gradually became less tense. Every day, they would take walks and play together in the manor. Although they often didn't say much, this feeling made them both feel very comfortable. Gu Yiming personally took care of Jiang Hua's daily life and other chores, and Jiang Hua's mood improved day by day, and her attitude towards Gu Yiming gradually softened.

“Let’s go and take a good look at the animals and plants in this manor. I’ve never really observed them closely before,” Jiang Hua suddenly suggested one day.

“Great! Xia Junxi’s manor is like a botanical and zoological museum. Let’s go for a stroll.” Gu Yiming was delighted that Jiang Hua was becoming closer to him, and this was the first time in days that Jiang Hua had spoken to him on her own initiative, so he immediately agreed. Gu Yiming took Jiang Hua’s hand. “Let’s go.”

The two strolled through the manor. Several small monkeys swung back and forth in the trees to their right, and a few were scrambling for something. Jiang Hua observed the adorable monkeys playing and excitedly said to Gu Yiming, "Look at them, they're like little children, so cute! I've never really looked at them properly before."

"Yes." Gu Yiming lowered his head and looked at her with affection. It had been a long time since he had seen Jiang Hua so lively.

The two chatted and laughed, as intimate as ever. In truth, there was still a slight distance between Jiang Hua and the others, but these days, her happiness was genuine.

And so, the two of them strolled around the manor every day. When they got bored, Gu Yiming would drive Jiang Hua out for a drive. Their waning feelings quickly warmed up, and they both felt relieved and very comfortable.

But their happiness was short-lived. One day, Gu Yiming received a phone call and then hurriedly left. Jiang Hua felt a chill in her heart, tears welling in her eyes. She looked coldly at Gu Yiming: "Why so suddenly? So you're leaving me again?"

Helpless and with no other option, Gu Yiming could only gently comfort her, "Xiaoya, I didn't want this either, but it's urgent official business that I have to go back and handle personally. Be patient and wait for me. I'll come back as soon as I've finished dealing with these trivial matters, and then I'll stay with you and never leave again."

"That same excuse again!" Jiang Hua thought angrily. "Fine, you can go now, I'm fine." Jiang Hua lowered her head, no longer looking at him, but her heart was filled with mixed feelings, and she felt very uncomfortable.

Seeing her like this, Gu Yiming felt very sad, but he didn't want to leave either. However, things back home were pressing, and he had to leave immediately. Otherwise, how could he bear to leave Jiang Hua alone here? He didn't want Jiang Hua to be so depressed, but he was simply unable to be with her any longer, so he resolutely set off to return to China.

Soon, Gu Yiming left the manor. Jiang Hua appeared calm on the surface, but inwardly she was utterly disappointed in Gu Yiming. Xia Junxi noticed that Jiang Hua had been in a bad mood since Gu Yiming left, so he came to comfort her.

"You know what? I now realize that forgiving him back then was a mistake!" Jiang Hua roared. "If I hadn't forgiven him then, my heart wouldn't be aching like this now! I should have cut ties long ago." She lowered her head, her pain making her feel even more miserable.

Seeing her so sad, Xia Junxi gently patted her back and said softly, "Don't think like that. He still loves you, and you love him too, don't you? You can't let go of each other."

"Do you know how much it hurts here!" Jiang Hua pointed to her chest, tears streaming down her face, each drop as clear as a pearl. "If one day my heart no longer aches, it won't be because I don't love him anymore, but because the disappointment has accumulated over time, making me despair of him." Jiang Hua sobbed uncontrollably, then turned and walked towards her room.

Now, Jiang Hua takes walks in the manor every day, feeding animals and tending to plants. The busy yet leisurely life has gradually made Jiang Hua feel cheerful, no longer as melancholy and lonely as when she first arrived. It feels like she has returned to the time when they first met, which makes Xia Junxi very happy.
