The official website just launched a new event and the guild leader immediately went berserk!
['Jiang Shan Ru Hua']: 'Comrades! Don't be shy!'
['Jiang Shan Ru Hu...
Gu Yiming suddenly slammed his phone to the ground, cursed angrily, and his chest heaved rapidly. Ten minutes later, he pressed his temples, tore the photos on the table to shreds, and threw them into the trash can.
The photo was taken by his people without his consent.
It was a photo of Ye Mucheng carrying Jiang Hua to the hospital. It was only yesterday that he realized how big her belly was.
Actually, he wanted to see her as soon as he heard she was leaving the entertainment industry. Although he hadn't figured out how to deal with the previous incidents, he couldn't bear to see her attacked. He even paid off those media outlets to retract their articles, using both threats and inducements, just to help her get rid of the trouble.
Little did she know that her biggest trouble was entirely of her own making.
The child she's carrying is 100% his; given her stubbornness, she definitely won't tell him.
Both of them were actually determined to go down the same path to the bitter end. Neither was willing to back down.
It wasn't quite an intuition, but Gu Yiming suddenly felt absolutely certain. Hearing the vice president's words, his anxiety intensified. He couldn't wait until the end of the workday and went straight to the hospital. But as soon as he stepped out of his office, his secretary rushed towards him, holding documents. She didn't dare look at his cold face and stammered without saying a word.
His deep eyes shifted several times, and with an urgent look at his lips, he coldly stared at his secretary.
Seeing this, the secretary hurriedly opened the document, her teeth chattering: "President, there's been a change in the German side of a cross-border cooperation project. They'd like to video chat with you. This is what I just printed out..."
Everyone knows that Gu Yiming has been in a bad mood lately, and working around him is like walking on thin ice; his secretary is also under immense pressure.
Gu Yiming recalled the message his deputy had relayed from the hospital: Jiang Hua was staying at the hospital and couldn't escape. Knowing the importance of cooperating with the German company, and with his steps faltering, he could only sigh and turn back to his office.
The secretary finally breathed a sigh of relief and immediately followed behind.
Little did anyone know that Gu Yiming's late arrival at the hospital almost led to a major disaster. Whenever he thought about it afterward, he would secretly resent himself for taking his work too seriously. If something had happened to his wife and children, he would have regretted it for the rest of his life.
Jiang Hua spent the whole day in the hospital, lying in bed for a long time. In the afternoon, after the nurses finished their rounds, she learned that Ye Mucheng had something to do and couldn't come. She wanted to go out for dinner, but she was tired of ordering takeout. She figured there were no paparazzi around the hospital, and those people wouldn't be so bored as to follow her.
After she was properly dressed, wearing a mask and protecting her belly, she went out and stood at the side entrance of the hospital. She looked around carefully, trying to find the restaurant the nurse had mentioned. After looking for a long time, she still couldn't see which street it was on. She was a little annoyed by her terrible sense of direction and decided to just pick any restaurant.
Behind the side door was a parking lot. She wandered through it, trying to take a shortcut. Finally, she reached the end and out of the corner of her eye, she seemed to see a familiar Land Rover parked on the side. When she looked again, the car was blocked by a red Mercedes, completely obstructing her view.
"Maybe it's a similar car," she thought, deciding she was overthinking it. Just as she was about to leave, she heard rapid footsteps behind her. Before she could turn around, she heard a familiar, cold shout: "Run!"
Jiang Hua was shocked and felt a cold wind on her back, but she still obeyed the man's words and quickly moved her feet, running away into the distance.
A menacing-looking man in a baseball cap, his face contorted with malice, cursed, "Damn it, don't run away."
"Am I just supposed to run and wait to die?" Jiang Hua clutched her stomach with both hands, not running very fast. In the blink of an eye, she was overtaken by the person behind her. She was instantly filled with despair. A flash of white light appeared before her eyes, and the air was filled with the pungent smell of blood. But she felt no pain at all. When she was surprised, she found herself in a warm embrace.
Gu Yiming was surprisingly relieved. He covered his stab wound with his hand and kicked the man in the baseball cap, sending him flying. But the man quickly sprang up from the ground, holding a sharp knife, and tried to stab him again.
That Land Rover just now, it really was him! Jiang Hua was still in a daze when she suddenly heard a rough voice shouting from the Mercedes next to the Land Rover: "Hey, committing a crime in broad daylight at the hospital, do you think you're living too comfortably?"
The man in the baseball cap was surprised that someone would help him. He glanced at Gu Yiming, who was equally difficult to deal with, and then ran away in a flash.
Gu Yiming watched the person walk away and knew he couldn't catch up. He looked down at the person in his arms with great tenderness in his eyes: "Huahua, I'm sorry, I'm late."
Jiang Hua blinked, wanting to say something, but could only sob and cry, clutching his shirt and coat, sobbing uncontrollably.
It was only after the passerby reminded her that she realized what was happening. She touched her hand, which was covered in blood, and said in a slightly urgent voice, "We need to go to the hospital to get it bandaged up quickly."
"It's nothing, this little injury is nothing."
He didn't care about being stabbed as long as she was safe and sound.
Gu Yiming's injury was not very serious, just a little more bleeding. The doctor gave him a simple bandage, stitched up a few more stitches, and told him not to get it wet before admitting him to the hospital.
His injury didn't hinder his movements at all, but looking at the tearful person, he felt guilty but also strangely satisfied, as if the injury was just right. He changed his mind and said to the nurse, "Please help me check in. Just put a bed next to her."
The nurse followed his gaze and saw that the patient was so handsome, completely different from the one from yesterday. She felt a mixture of envy and jealousy towards Jiang Hua. Both men were so infatuated with her, so whose child was it? Besides, the hospital couldn't just let men and women stay together like that.
Gu Yiming noticed that the nurse was softening, so he pleaded with a pained expression, "My wife is angry with me, and I want to take this opportunity to coax her. Little fairy nurse, please say yes."
"Okay, I'll go get an empty bed." The nurse couldn't bear to see such a handsome man so distressed and hoped that the pregnant woman would change her mind, not be misled by others, and return to her husband's side as soon as possible.
Jiang Hua was still in the bathroom dealing with Gu Yiming's clothes, simply soaking them in water, completely unaware that there was another person in the ward.
When she saw the man who had brazenly checked into her room, lying comfortably on the hospital bed, she was speechless.
“The nurse agreed. We’re husband and wife, so we can take care of each other in bed. Besides,” Gu Yiming sighed, his earlier smugness gone, and pointed to his back, “I need to rest for a while longer. I’ll have to leave you with these next few days.”
Jiang Hua was also helpless. Seeing him injured, she was naturally even more distressed and didn't say much.
Before they knew it, the sun had set, and the lights in the ward were turned on. After so many days apart, seeing each other again, Jiang Hua felt a sense of disorientation, as if it were all a dream. Perhaps when she woke up the next morning, this person would not even exist.
