Author's note: The first piece of writing is really not good, really not good! The writing is poor, the plot is poor, everything is poor!
The main character's portrayal is also a fail...
Chapter 6 Newly Married
Liu Yin'er stared at her expression, unable to speak. She really didn't know how to treat her. Was she going to force herself to drive her away?
"Listen to me, I'm serious. Although I can't give you that, that harmonious married life, but I promise to make sure you have enough food and clothing. You can change in the future... Well, that, I can't promise you anything else, but as long as you don't leave on your own initiative, I promise that you will be together for the rest of your lives." Gu Wan mentioned remarrying, and seeing that she looked unwell, he immediately changed his words.
The more Liu Yiner listened to her, the more confused she became. If she married her, she would never marry anyone else in her life. However, she didn't understand what a harmonious married life meant, so she didn't know how to answer. Let's see what this person really meant.
Seeing that she was silent, Gu Wan was afraid that something unexpected might happen. Sister Li and the matchmaker might be here soon. He was afraid that she would be uneasy because of his criminal record. After hesitating for a moment, Gu Wan pulled out the red rope from his neck and said, "This is the jade pendant I have been wearing since I was a child. I will give it to you today as a token of my proposal to you." After saying this, Gu Wan walked over and carefully took Liu Yiner's hand and placed it in her palm. This was the only valuable thing he had on him.
The jade pendant in her palm was still warm. Although she had little experience, she had a hunch that it was valuable. Liu Yin'er felt it was a little hot and was about to throw it back to the person, but her hand subconsciously clenched. She said she was serious this time, so if I accepted the jade, then, could I marry her?
Before she could figure out what to do, there was some noise outside the door. It seemed that many people were coming towards her house. It turned out that it was Mrs. Li and the matchmaker who brought people with them, carrying the betrothal gifts, and many curious villagers followed them along the way.
At this point, Gu Wan could no longer afford to retreat. "Dear fellow villagers, I, Gu Wan, solemnly propose marriage to the Liu family today. I would like to ask you to be my witnesses."
Then Gu Wan looked at Liu Yiner again and said, "I am willing to protect and respect you in the future. After marriage, I will ensure that you have enough food and clothing. I will treat your family as my family. No matter what happens in the future, if you don't leave, I will never abandon you. I, Gu Wan, will only have you as a woman in this life. So, will you marry me?" However, Gu Wan continued to say some words in her heart, such as: If you meet your beloved and leave me, I will never stop you. I can protect you but I can't love you... At this moment, she did not expect that she would lose her heart in the future.
Fortunately, Liu Yin'er didn't think about so many details. When she saw Gu Wan staring at her seriously and many familiar people around her began to coax her to agree, she turned around shyly and hid in the house.
Gu Wan was stunned for a moment. Isn't this enough? She didn't understand Liu Yin'er's meaning, but the people around her could see that the Liu family girl was embarrassed. The marriage was done, so they congratulated the young master one after another.
Gu Wan finally came to her senses. Was this a success? A strange feeling of joy rose in her heart, and suddenly she thought of the money. For now, she should ask Sister Li to take care of the next matters. Looking back at the closed door, she couldn't help but breathe a sigh of relief, and her heart, which had been hanging in the air, finally settled down.
Was she going to be married in just ten days? Liu Yin'er sat by the bed, embroidering her wedding dress. She probably knew why the wedding was scheduled so close. She was afraid that her father was worried about something unexpected happening again! After all, that man seemed steady, but he was not as steady as she had imagined. He kept teasing her back and forth, which really made her feel uneasy.
I remembered that Gu Wan had sent me the ten taels of silver later. Although I knew I couldn't accept any more money from her, what she said was right. Our family didn't have much money left for a dowry, and I couldn't look too shabby when I got married. My father needed medicine, my brother needed to study, and I had to pay taxes. None of these things cost money. For now, the only solution was to wait until I got married and treat the man well.
The twenty-sixth day of the twelfth lunar month was a good time for marriage. It was almost dark. Liu Yin'er listened to the noisy sounds outside slowly fading away. It seemed as if someone pushed the door open and walked in. She couldn't help but clutch her sleeves and her breathing slowed down.
Gu Wan placed the food on the table. The bright red wedding quilt complemented the girl in her wedding dress perfectly. She took a deep breath and lifted the red veil. Her face, once bare, was now heavily made up, adding a touch of charm. Gu Wan coughed lightly. "Well, you eat something first. I'll get some water." Then she walked out the door without stopping.
She washed outside for a long time before returning with half a basin of warm water. Looking at the candlelight in the room, she sighed in her heart and gently pushed the door open and walked in. Seeing that Liu Yiner had finished eating, she said to her, "Wipe your face. I'll go to bed first."
Seeing her husband avoiding her like a tiger, the bride quickly tucked herself into bed, her back to the outside, against the wall, a chill running down her spine. Shouldn't she have expected this earlier? How could he possibly be attracted to her? Yet, the hope she'd harbored since getting married felt like she had nowhere to turn.
Liu Yin'er washed briefly, blew out the ironic red candle, pulled back a corner of the quilt, and lay down beside the man. She had been tense all day, and now she finally rested, and soon she fell into a deep sleep.
Although Gu Wan didn't look back, he pricked up his ears and heard her movements clearly. The person behind him had fallen asleep, but his heart was beating like a drum and he couldn't fall asleep. He didn't feel sleepy until dawn.
The next day, Gu Wan woke up and opened the door to find that the yard that was a mess yesterday had become clean and fresh. She couldn't help but feel relieved. "As expected, she is virtuous." Suddenly, she heard a voice beside her ear: "Husband~~" What did I hear? Husband--Husband--
Liu Yin'er woke up at daybreak, cleaned up the leftovers from yesterday's meal, and swept the yard before carefully examining the house. It was already midday, but the man hadn't gotten up yet, probably because he'd had too much to drink. Just as she was debating whether to wake her up, she saw him push open the door.
"Husband, let's have breakfast! What's wrong? Aren't you hungry? Otherwise, we can eat later?" Seeing that she didn't respond, Liu Yiner asked again cautiously.
Gu Wan came back to his senses after hearing the call of "husband". This silly girl had been waiting for him to eat. He felt relieved. "Well, it's okay. Let's eat now. You don't have to wait for me in the future. Just eat first. Also, please call me A Wan in the future. I'm not used to it." After saying that, he turned his head and stared at the ground looking for ants.
The sunlight shone on the person's face, which looked bright and warm at this moment. Liu Yiner lowered her head and did not respond to her. She turned and went to the kitchen.
Gu Wan called out from behind, "Can I call you Yin'er later?" Only a "OK" came from the kitchen.
The meal was almost over, and Liu Yiner quickly stood up to pour her a glass of water. Gu Wan stood up at a loss, quickly organizing his words in his mind.
"You don't have to do this to me," he said, and then he saw his new bride's eyes welling up, but she tried hard not to let the tears fall. Gu Wan felt a faint sense of guilt in his heart. Had he expressed himself wrongly after trying so hard to choose his words?
Seeing the girl with her back turned and her head slightly raised, she took a step closer without thinking, raised her arms and hugged Liu Yin'er in her arms, and her hand naturally touched her head, which was trembling slightly due to sobbing. She didn't realize that her serious expression made the girl's heart, which had finally calmed down, feel uneasy again.

The author has something to say:
The story ends here, how should I write next?
Was his identity discovered, or did Gu Wan confess on her own initiative?
