Apocalypse | Stockpiling | Supernatural Powers | Killing Zombies | Fighting Survivors
Congratulations to me for receiving the Apocalypse Lucky Person package, complete with an arbitrary door ...
In the fifth month of the zombie outbreak, we gained a new partner, the clairvoyant. To avoid the teleporters, the clairvoyant kept a close eye on the surrounding area with his phone every day. With nothing to do, I watered my little trees and vegetables. After spending some time together, Ji Lin'an and I officially got together. He shamelessly moved from the study to the master bedroom to live with me. Although we were in the same room, separated only by a door, who wouldn't be happy to cuddle with a man for warmth in the apocalypse?
I stayed in bed early in the morning. Ji Lin'an made breakfast and called me and Qianliyan to get up. I slowly washed up and went downstairs but didn't see Qianliyan: "Where's Qianliyan?"
Ji Lin'an glanced at Qianliyan's room: "I knocked on the door but no one answered. They're probably still asleep."
I suddenly frowned: "He usually gets up early at this time, could something have happened? Let's go in and check."
Ji Lin'an then realized what was happening, turned around and walked towards Qianliyan's room. After knocking on the door a few times, there was still no answer. Ji Lin'an gently opened the door and saw Qianliyan lying on the bed with his computer in his arms. The computer screen showed Future Island: "He went into Future Island without saying a word, making us worry for nothing."
Ji Lin'an stood in front of the Thousand-Mile Eyes bed: "I called him an hour ago. We usually come out in twenty minutes."
I quickly checked the computer: "Is his system stuck?"
Ji Lin'an also walked to the computer: "It shouldn't be. Let's wait and see. If it really doesn't work, we'll try to wake him up."
Ten more minutes passed and Qianliyan still hadn't woken up. Seeing this, Ji Lin'an took the computer from Qianliyan's hands and pressed the power button. The next second, Qianliyan woke up in terror, his eyes bloodshot and panting as he stared at us. When he saw it was us, he sat up and rubbed his face: "It's you guys! You scared me to death. I thought the Flashers had come to kill us."
I said, "Why did it take you so long to get inside?"
With a puzzled look, Qianliyan asked, "Have I been inside for a long time?"
I nodded: "Yeah, it's probably been more than an hour."
Thousand-Mile Eyes was silent for a few seconds: "It seems that the time of entry is related to the time of plot development."
Ji Lin'an spoke up: "What do you mean?"
Thousand-Mile Eyes frowned as he looked at us: "I have good news and bad news. Which do you want to hear first?"
I raised my hand: "Bad news!"
Thousand-Mile Eyes pursed his lips and said, "The Flashers have teamed up with a number of Lucky Ones to hunt us down."
I gave a wry smile: "Emmm, what's the good news?"
The all-seeing eye looked at Ji Lin'an: "We've dodged for a year,"
I was somewhat delighted: "So, we weren't dead when you finally came out?"
Thousand-Mile Eye shook his head, then nodded: "No, but not entirely."
I was full of questions: "What do you mean?"
Qianliyan looked up at Ji Lin'an and then at me, his expression somewhat troubled, and said, "You're dead."
I pointed at myself: "Am I dead? How did I die?"
Thousand-Mile Eyes narrowed his eyes: "A month before I disappeared from the scene, the Flashers found us. To protect our computers, Ji Lin'an locked them in a safe. The original plan was for us to escape directly using your Anywhere Door, but the Flashers were too fast and arrived in front of you first, holding a knife to you and threatening us to put down our guns. You and Ji Lin'an exchanged a glance, and you kicked the Flashers in a vital spot. You crouched down and told us to open fire. As we opened fire on a bunch of lucky guys with our submachine guns, the Flashers stood up, teleported in front of you, grabbed you, and blocked the bullets. And then..."
Qianliyan cautiously observed Ji Lin'an, whose tightly furrowed brows could crush an elephant. I stepped forward and took his hand: "Hey, don't be nervous, it's just a scene. Now that we know the outcome, we can find a way to change it."
Ji Lin'an reached out and hugged me, then slowly said, "Have we survived another month?"
Qianliyan was probably surprised that Ji Lin'an had managed to say such a thing after holding back for so long. He paused for a moment before replying, "Yes, you said you wanted to take revenge on them, so you dragged me along to search for their tracks every day. But those people are very cunning. They always leave someone behind to watch the future. Every time we tried to ambush them, we failed and almost got killed. Since they outnumbered us, they were naturally not afraid of us and even hoped that we would walk into their trap."
Ji Lin'an asked, "Do you remember what skills those lucky people possessed?"
Thousand-Mile Eye counted on his fingers: "Among that group of people, Flash is not the leader. He has a boss behind him, but that boss almost never shows up. He always hides. There is also a man and a woman protecting him. The man's skill is a protective shield, and I haven't seen the woman's skill displayed. There is also a man who is often with Flash. He is very good at fighting, but he is as thin as a monkey. I saw him beat up someone. He actually knocked down a strong man who was 1.9 meters tall and weighed 300 pounds."
I exclaimed, "Wow, that's amazing! Bullets probably can't penetrate it, right?"
Thousand-Mile Eyes nodded: "Yes, we tried it once when we were taking revenge later. The bullets really couldn't get through. I have to say your Anywhere Door is really awesome. You always manage to escape one step ahead of the Flash."
I said smugly, "Of course, it seems the system still loves me quite a bit. So, does that mean you guys failed to get your revenge and were eventually brought out by us?"
Clairvoyant nodded: "Yes."
Ji Lin'an pondered for a moment: "The Flashers took almost a year to find us, but logically they should be frantically searching for you recently. He's right nearby, so why did it take them a year to find you?"
Thousand-Mile Eye stroked his chin: "That makes some sense. Maybe he didn't find us at the swimming pool and turned around to look for someone else?"
I said, "Or maybe he was alone at this time, so it wasn't so easy to search for him. If we calculate based on the images, the person who appeared could find that mysterious organization any day from today. If he didn't join that mysterious organization, do I have a chance to survive?"
