Chapter 15 The Real Bully

Back in reality, Qianliyan and I woke up first. We looked at each other but didn't want to talk. We both turned our eyes to Ji Lin'an. Two minutes later, Ji Lin'an woke up too and looked at us in the same way. The three of us sat there quietly and awkwardly for two minutes.

Clairvoyant spoke first: "Should we... eat something first?"

Neither Ji Lin'an nor I said anything, but neither did we refuse. Ji Lin'an got up and walked to the kitchen, and I followed her up to the island counter, poured a large glass of water, and drank it all in one go.

The man with the keen eye smiled ingratiatingly at me: "Could you get me a cup too?"

"cannot!"

I replied with a bit of a temper. Perhaps the process of being slashed was too painful, and the culprit who caused my failed escape even made me pour him water. The more I thought about it, the angrier I became. I rushed up to Qianliyan and grabbed his neck: "It's all your fault. Why did you have to run into my face instead of running to where you were going?"

Thousand-Mile Eyes quickly shrank his neck: "You can't blame me, I wanted to escape too, but the living room is only so big, and besides, it's not like we can live as long as I don't bump into you."

I continued to shake the all-seeing eye: "If you hadn't bumped into me, I might have had a moment to open the Anywhere Door and take you both away."

I didn't grip Qianliyan's hand tightly. Qianliyan bent over slightly and broke free of my grasp, saying disdainfully, "Forget it. Those three are so fierce. Do you think you have a chance?"

I didn't say anything. Ji Lin'an carried two bowls of instant noodles to the table and said, "Don't think about it now. Let's eat the noodles and then we can review the situation slowly."

As soon as Qianliyan saw the instant noodles, he ran to the dining table, completely ignoring my hands that were choking him. So I was too lenient. I watched helplessly as Qianliyan took away my favorite flavor of noodles.

I quickly stepped forward to stop him: "Hey! That's mine. Don't you usually not like this flavor?"

Thousand-Mile Eyes made a face at me: "I just wanted to try something different today, since you pinched me just now."

Just as I was about to rush over and give the all-seeing eye a good whack, Ji Lin'an walked up to me and said, "Alright, sweetie, I'll make you a new one."

I waved my hand at Ji Lin'an: "It's alright, there's another bowl."

As I spoke, I glanced at the other bowl of instant noodles, the one I hated the most. I froze instantly. Before I could say anything, Ji Lin'an had already gone to the kitchen and opened a new pack of instant noodles. Luckily, Ji Lin'an understands me.

After dinner, instead of reviewing the event in the living room, we each took a small notebook. The amount of information in the future scenes was too much, and we couldn't process it without a notebook.

Ji Lin'an wrote and explained in his notebook using a mind map: "Let's organize the content first. Nothing happened to us in the short term after we entered the picture. We expected that the Flashers would start searching for us after they learned that Thousand-Mile Eye and Liu Jia were missing. However, Thousand-Mile Eye did not track us down in the picture. Instead, we went to find him. After finding him, we were ambushed by the mysterious organization. The picture that Thousand-Mile Eye saw in the picture within a picture was actually us living for a year before the Flashers found us."

The all-seeing eye nodded, resting his chin on his hand: "Yes, in the footage we lived peacefully for ten months."

Ji Lin'an didn't look up, and continued writing as she spoke: "Think again about what other points you might have missed."

Thousand-Mile Eyes looked at the ceiling and tried to recall: "After I entered the scene, we ate, slept, and fought zombies every day. Life was quite peaceful and comfortable. On the day the Flashers appeared, we were all spacing out. When we received the alert that the Lucky One was approaching, Lao Ji put the computer in the safe. Just as he put it in, that skinny guy who could fight kicked the door open and the Flashers rushed in front of you. The rest is basically what I told you."

I asked, "Who is Lao Ji?"

Qianliyan rolled her eyes at me: "You don't even know your man's last name."

I realized what was happening and laughed stupidly, "Haha, go on, go on."

Ji Lin'an asked with a serious expression, "But we were ambushed after we left the painting within a painting."

I put away my smile and became serious: "It's possible that our decision to actively seek out the Flash changed the course of events."

“Yes, the person who appeared in these few scenes doesn’t seem like a reckless person. Every time we encounter him, it’s a surprise attack. He doesn’t easily show himself until he figures out where the enemy is. So, his action of standing in the open space in the scene seems like he’s trying to lure us to let our comrades confirm his location.” Ji Lin’an made a few more marks on the notebook.

Qianliyan said, "I haven't seen the three burly men chasing us in the painting within the painting, so I'm not sure if they are the same group as the mysterious organization in the painting within the painting."

Ji Lin'an put away his pen: "Let's just consider them as one group for now. They are all in danger to us. This group is ruthless and has no intention of forming an alliance."

I sighed: "Yeah, I've always felt that forming alliances rather than killing is the key to survival. No matter how many skills someone has, they can still die if they're not careful. It's like playing a game. No matter how much good equipment someone finds, they'll still end up in a box. You have to restart countless times to have a chance to survive to the end."

"It's not that they haven't formed an alliance, it's just that the people they've allied with aren't us," said Thousand-Mile Eye, leaning back leisurely.

I gave a wry smile: "How did they form their alliances? Are we not worthy? They just came up and killed us without even giving us a chance to negotiate."

Ji Lin'an looked at me: "Perhaps their alliance has not yet been formed, but we can try to form an alliance with them. However, from now on, we must give up the idea and decision to kill them from the bottom of our hearts, otherwise they will know the danger we will bring to them in the future."
