Yang Shen clenched his fist, almost wanting to shout with excitement. Creating life was far more fulfilling than creating inanimate matter.

"Huh? Wait a minute..."

Suddenly he sensed something was wrong, because the path he had created was light and still, its eyes dull and lifeless, standing there motionless.

"What's going on?"

Yang Shen frowned slightly and waved his hand in front of Lu Qingqing's eyes.

Instantly, Lu Qingqing's delicate body trembled, and instinctive fear caused her to fall to her knees with a thud, shivering uncontrollably.

Even so, her eyes remained vacant, seemingly devoid of any intelligence.

"Feeling fear indicates a survival instinct, but... she lacks intelligence..."

Yang Shen finally understood where the problem lay.

"Lacking intelligence..."

"Is it because intelligent life cannot be created out of thin air?"

"But the illusionary beings from before all possessed sentience..."

Yang Shen was bewildered, feeling that something was amiss.

The illusionary life forms created earlier had independent thought and could be considered intelligent, but they lacked the fear and survival instincts that life should have.

The life forms created now can be considered life, because they already have the instinct for survival and can feel fear, but they have lost their intelligence.

"Where exactly did things go wrong?"

"Where did the problem occur... or is a step missing?"

Yang Shen frowned as he examined Lu Qingqing, who was kneeling on the ground and trembling instinctively. He could see Lu Qingqing's veins and bones, and he could see Lu Qingqing's body structure.

Based on the physical functions and hormones of this 'Lu Qingqing', he was even able to analyze that this 'Lu Qingqing' he created was capable of reproduction.

This is the true characteristic that life should have.

But it lacks intelligence. Where exactly did things go wrong?
