The infected creature shuddered and tried to struggle, but its body quickly withered away, leaving only a human skin on the ground.

The tree roots, flowing with golden liquid, slowly retreated into the ground. A minute later, they emerged again from beside another infected person, piercing into that infected person's body and devouring them.

A nearby female infected person, who was also lying dead, trembled and woke up, staring blankly at the tree roots from which golden liquid flowed.

Just then, the tree root swallowed the infected person, leaving only a human skin, and it was about to retreat back into the ground.

Suddenly, the female infected person screamed and pounced on it, grabbing the main root and tearing at it wildly.

This was quite alarming. The remaining five infected were also awakened, quickly sprang up, looked around blankly, and soon discovered the tree roots flowing with golden liquid. They immediately pounced on them, grabbing the roots and tearing at them.

The six infected, having devoured the tree roots, roared for a while longer. Finding no other enemies, they fell straight down again, remaining lifeless.

Time passed second by second, and about half an hour later, the female infected person who had swallowed the tree root first suddenly had a golden light shining from her abdomen.
