Xiao Cheng is dragged into a game world, weak, helpless, and suffering from amnesia. Faced with mentally challenged NPCs, a teammate who seems like a big shot obsessed with finding bugs, and unreli...
The false sun, along with the entire instance, began to gradually crumble. The Queen's roar didn't last long; it vanished completely when a corner of the sun was missing.
The stone pillar grew shorter and shorter, as if it had been sheared away layer by layer. Xiao Cheng let out a long breath and sat down on its edge, feeling somewhat exhausted. He looked down at the players below, who, after a brief moment of astonishment, could not hide their joy.
Su Xin had already woken up, but she was missing half an arm. Her expression was unnatural as she avoided Xiao Cheng's gaze, clearly knowing that she had been manipulated by A009 and almost killed in a sneak attack.
Xiao Cheng sighed helplessly, jumped down from the stone pillar, walked up to her, and, to her surprise, shook the hilt of the knife in his hand: "Su Xin, how should I put it, your superpower is amazing."
"Xiao Cheng, I..." Su Xin looked like she was about to cry.
"Now it seems like not only that freakish zombie is gone, but the entire instance is about to disappear." Xiao Cheng patted her shoulder reassuringly with a half-hug gesture. "If you're so reluctant to part with me, then I hope we'll meet again in the next instance."
The dungeon's depletion was nearing its end; white mist began to rise, and some players started logging out. Soon after, their figures also became blurry.
"We will meet again," Qiao Liao said with certainty, holding his whisk.
"See you next time then." Xiao Cheng waved goodbye to them one by one.
Finally, there's Fang He.
He was shrouded in mist, making him look somewhat unreal, as if he might be blown away by the wind at any moment.
As if possessed, Xiao Cheng reached out and grabbed half of his sleeve: "You..."
Before she could finish speaking, she suddenly realized what she had done. Her ears burned, and she quickly pulled her hand back, letting out two awkward laughs.
"Xiao Cheng." Fang He sighed, and seemed to say something after the sigh.
"What?" Xiao Cheng didn't hear clearly and looked at him with a puzzled expression.
But Fang He didn't repeat it. He simply said, "Never mind." Before disappearing completely, he reached out and lightly ruffled Xiao Cheng's hair. "Actually, you're pretty amazing too."
Xiao Cheng was a little confused by his actions, but before she could say anything, her vision blurred, and when she came to her senses, she had completely left the instance and returned to her resting place.
To be honest, she couldn't believe at first that this was actually her own resting place. She remembered that before entering the instance, there weren't so many fancy balloons piled up on the ground.
The screen hanging there suddenly lit up, flashing colorful disco-style lights, and a burst of cannon fire and applause rang out. All the balloons slowly floated to the ceiling and then burst with a bang.
Colorful sequins rained down, and Xiao Cheng shook off the pile stuck on her head with a speechless expression.
So what exactly is going on?
Fortunately, the surroundings quickly returned to normal. The sequins and balloon fragments were automatically collected, the electronic screen stopped flashing, and the settlement information for this instance was quickly updated.
[Escape Room Dungeon: Alien Evolution]
[Number of players/Number of survivors: 27/100]
[Base score: 27 points]
[Hidden Points: 5 points]
[System Evaluation: You've become a mature and reliable player, but please remember to cherish the dungeon.]
[Congratulations on unlocking the achievement: Dungeon Killer. No reward yet.]
Xiao Cheng: "..." What kind of achievement is this? It makes me sound like some kind of fierce and evil demon.
However, this wave of points was indeed very appealing. She remembered the items and clicked on the shop's options, but only glanced at them before exiting.
I can't afford it, I really can't afford it.
She was once again forced to confront her poverty.
This dungeon run left her exhausted from not eating or sleeping well. As she collapsed onto the bed, fatigue immediately washed over her as she began to relax.
Just as she was drifting off to sleep, she vaguely realized that her blanket had been brought back.
I don't know if it's a new quilt or the one I brought into the dungeon. If it's the latter, then it's an excellent quilt that has been used in dungeons.
Xiao Cheng was thinking aimlessly when her eyelids grew heavier and heavier, and she soon fell asleep.
She was awakened by a sharp ringtone coming from the screen.
There were less than two hours left before the next instance started.
She was surprised that she had slept for so long again, and looked up at the screen. To be honest, after experiencing the previous instance, she seemed to have a bit of PTSD about electronic screens.
Especially noteworthy is the bright red electronic eyeball bouncing around on top.
It's almost exactly the same as the one hanging outside.
Then the eyeball slowly opened its mouth, and the voice sounded distinctly like that of men, women, young and old.
"Dear player, have a good day. As you can see, I am the mastermind here, or you may prefer to call me the system."
"Some exciting news: the necessary energy accumulation has been completed. From now on, this place will be closed to other spaces, which means that no new players will be allowed to enter."
"Gentlemen, you are elite players who have survived through rigorous selection. Welcome to the Fragment World. The main quest has officially begun. We wish you a pleasant gaming experience."
The eyeballs vanished from the screen with a snap, replaced by a very long progress bar. The current progress bar was at 10%, and at the end of the progress bar was an exquisite gift box.
The forum interface popped up automatically, and the pinned post became the one that required 10,000 points to view: #Shocking! This is the truth of the fragmented world!#.
