Xiao Cheng is dragged into a game world, weak, helpless, and suffering from amnesia. Faced with mentally challenged NPCs, a teammate who seems like a big shot obsessed with finding bugs, and unreli...
Receiving no response for a long time, Fang He remained calm and composed, silently loading the shotgun in his hand and then pointing the muzzle at the mistress of the house.
His finger was lightly on the trigger, looking like he was ready to fire at any moment.
Only Xiao Cheng was truly excited. If the woman of the house hadn't been holding her back with a hammer, she would have jumped up and shouted, "Exchange! Only a fool wouldn't exchange such a good deal!"
But the male and female owners were extremely unyielding and completely disregarded Fang He's warning shot. They even sneered and mocked, "Take your wolf skin and get out of here. How dare such filthy humans step into my home?"
"No!" Xiao Cheng suddenly grabbed the woman's arm, his expression sincere, and he even squeezed out a few tears. "He really will shoot!"
While using an exaggerated tone to distract the mistress, she quietly snatched the hammer from her hand.
"I don't want you to suffer any harm because of me! For God's sake, let me go with Him, give me a chance to rescue you from this evil devil's clutches!"
The couple was stunned by her righteous demeanor. Little Fatty, who had been oblivious to the situation, was also affected by her emotions. He stopped drinking his soup, grabbed the bowl, and burst into tears.
Xiao Cheng put one hand behind her back and, out of the NPC's blind spot, frantically gestured to Fang He at the door.
The atmosphere's already set, what are you standing there for? Get into character!
Fang He clearly understood what she meant, raised his hand towards the soup bowl in the little fat boy's hand, and decisively pulled the trigger.
There was a loud bang.
A wisp of gray smoke rose from the narrow muzzle of the gun, and the bowl shattered with a crack, spilling soup and liquid all over the floor.
Then came the second shot, which sent the soup pot on the table flying. It crashed heavily against the wall, leaving a noticeable dent.
Then he raised the gun for the third time, this time aiming it at the woman's forehead.
“I’ve never had much patience, so I’ll be blunt right now.” He kicked the bloody wolf pelt aside. “There’s no deal involved. Even if it’s outright robbery, I’ll still take her out today.”
Xiao Cheng was so moved that tears welled up in her eyes. What did she do to deserve such a reliable teammate? She truly deserved it all!
Unexpectedly, the woman of the house was also moved to tears.
She suddenly covered her face and squatted down, bursting into tears without warning. After crying for a while, she raised her swollen eyes and looked at Xiao Cheng with teary eyes.
"What a sincere love this is! Go with him, my dear daughter, God will surely bless you!"
Xiao Cheng: "..." Although I inexplicably achieved my goal, is this really reasonable?!
But it seemed that she was the only one there who found it strange.
The male homeowner and the chubby boy accepted it well, and even spontaneously lined up to wave goodbye to them.
"Sister! You must take good care of yourself!" Little Fatty took out three brand-new gold coins from his pocket and handed them over with great reluctance.
Stepping out of the candy store, Xiao Cheng felt as if she had returned to a different world. The family of three sat down at the table again, intently drinking their soup. Apart from the broken door, it seemed as if everything had returned to its starting point.
A large, snow-white bird flew in from the sky. It circled low a few times before landing on the eaves, fluttering its wings and emitting a mournful cry in a strange tone, as if someone were indistinctly reciting a nursery rhyme.
"My mother killed me..."
"My father ate me..."
“My sister gathered my remains and buried them under the stones…”
The three NPCs inside the room covered their ears in agony at its cries, but they still looked as if they were choking, their faces and necks turning a deep purple-red.
The nursery rhyme was sung three times in a row, and then it stopped abruptly.
The large bird shook its wings violently and took flight again. A strange pea seed was shaken off, rolled over to where the vines grew, and disappeared into the soil with a whoosh.
The withered vines instantly regained their vitality, rapidly spreading their branches and leaves, and soaring into the sky at an incredible speed, like a ladder that could reach the heavens.
The emerald green leaves swayed slowly, scattering gold coins like flowing water, which quickly accumulated into a small pile on the ground.
Little Fatty suddenly rushed out like a madman, pounced on the ground, and frantically shoved gold coins into his arms.
The rumble of thunder echoed through the sky, sending a faint sense of unease through the listeners.
"Hurry up, get out of here!" Fang He picked up two large pieces of broken biscuit door panels and dragged Xiao Cheng towards the forest.
He moved very fast, glancing back every now and then, his expression instantly freezing.
Xiao Cheng glanced at his furrowed brows and turned to look at him with some curiosity.
Now she knew why Fang He had that expression.
From the top of the towering vines came a gigantic foot, almost blotting out the sky. Then came the ankle, and above that, a thick calf.
A muscular, ugly giant slumped down a vine, a tattered money bag tied around his waist, from which gold coins poured out with each movement.
Splash, splash.
Little Fatty was right below the rain of gold coins, lying on the ground greedily pulling the coins into his arms. Soon, the male and female owners also ran out, and the family of three hid there neatly, with infatuated, stiff smiles on their faces.
They were completely unaware of the giant descending from the sky.
