Chapter 146 Dark Fairy Tale (17)

The mute girl's side is an escape room puzzle game, and she has already reached the last level.

Unfortunately, I got stuck.

They couldn't find the key to the last door, and the mute girl and her boyfriend exchanged a glance before giving up in despair.

"There's a bug in this game. The last box we opened was empty, but there should have been a key inside," Number Five explained to the others.

"Forget it, there's no rush," Number Three reassured everyone. "Anyway, based on the information we have now, we've already looked around and even tried it out ourselves."

"The games here can be roughly divided into five categories."

"Dress-up games, parkour games, fighting games, management games, and puzzle games."

"The game is very difficult, but there must be a way to beat it."

"If you fail too many times, who knows what might happen? It's best not to try again for now." The elite woman had just experienced bankruptcy and was in a bad mood, so she said in a cold, hard tone.

"Let's all go upstairs and take a look. Check out your rooms and the kitchen; you might find some new clues," Number Two said reassuringly, patting her shoulder in a gentle tone that belied his appearance.

No one objected.

Going up the stairs, they discovered that the second floor was much larger than the first floor. On both sides of the corridor, there were four rooms lined up in a row, with the rooms opposite each other staggered. At the end of the corridor was an open kitchen, fully equipped with all kinds of cooking utensils.

The corridor was covered with a green carpet, the exact material of which was unclear, but it felt as soft as floating on clouds when you stepped on it.

Warning signs were posted on the wall.

"No noise allowed."

“The rooms should be freely allocated,” Number Three said.

"No one says that only one person can stay in a room," Number Five added.

So they naturally paired up and were assigned to rooms, leaving Xiao Cheng and Fang He alone.

The two: "..."

I feel like I've been ostracized for no reason.

But they didn't end up staying together; instead, they chose two adjacent rooms.

Xiao Cheng chose the room closest to the kitchen. As soon as she opened the slightly ajar door, she felt the scent of money wafting towards her.

The room was fully furnished, and the refrigerator was filled with boxed food, each box labeled with the number of days, from day one to day seven, not a day more, not a day less.

"That's amazing!" she exclaimed sincerely, looking at the 2.8-meter-wide waterbed.

The soundproofing in this room doesn't seem to be very good; she can hear other people coming and going, probably going to the kitchen to prepare ingredients.

But Xiao Cheng didn't go, and neither did Fang He. The two of them stood in almost the same position in front of their respective refrigerators, arms crossed, looking thoughtfully at the contents inside.

"This is bad," Xiao Cheng murmured. "Very bad."

There is no distinction between day and night here, so the players simply agree on a unified sleep time to improve efficiency.

Xiao Cheng has always been very casual about these things; she simply covered herself with the blanket and went to sleep.

I was awakened by the sound of dripping water.

"Disturbing someone's peaceful sleep is not a good habit."

She yawned and mumbled as she sat up.

Tick-tock

Xiao Cheng listened intently.

It came from outside the door, or more precisely, from the door right next to hers.

Xiao Cheng imagined something wet lying on her door panel, water dripping down.

Something wet.

She almost instantly thought of the big-headed princess from the dress-up game.

"Ah... could it be that they finally climbed out?"

Xiao Cheng turned on the bedside lamp, rolled out of bed in the dim light, put on her shoes, and walked to the door.

She reached out and pressed the doorknob.

Then, click—

She opened the door and pushed it all the way up.

There was nothing there; the corridor was completely empty.

The sound of water was still there, drip, drip.

Xiao Cheng silently looked around, felt a dampness on the back of her neck, wiped it with her hand, and then turned away blankly.

A gaping maw lunged at her, its blackened lips almost splitting open to reveal three rows of sharp, foul-smelling shark teeth.

Tick-tock—

Tick-tock, tick-tock, tick-tock—

The sound of dripping water grew more and more rapid. Xiao Cheng, expressionless, stretched out her right hand, grabbed Big Head Princess's wet hair tightly, and slammed her against the wall cleanly.

The princess with the big head had her hair pulled, and perhaps recalling the fear of being forced to do so during the day, she opened her mouth and let out a shrill scream.

She heard noises coming from Fang He's room next door, but his door was sealed shut by something. It was being pounded on and made loud noises, but she couldn't open it.

The big-headed princess in her hand suddenly stopped crying. With her makeup that could be described as physically amazing, she stared at Xiao Cheng pitifully with teary eyes, emitting hesitant sobs.

Xiao Cheng continued to press her down relentlessly, while listening intently to the sounds from the other rooms to make sure that no one except Fang He dared to come out.

"Shh." She raised her index finger, gesturing for silence, and said to the big-headed girl, "Be quiet. What are you doing blocking the door so late at night?"

They quickly reached an agreement.

As soon as Xiao Cheng relaxed his grip, Big Head Princess instantly dodged away with lightning speed, disappearing from sight in the blink of an eye.

Xiao Cheng: "..."

She sighed helplessly and gently knocked on Fang He's door with her finger: "Alright, open the door."

Fang He pushed open the door almost instantly and rushed out, but stopped abruptly when he saw Xiao Cheng. He stopped so suddenly that he stumbled and almost bumped into her.
