Chapter 7 Precious Gift

The guest room where Krober rested was on the second floor near the watchtower - this was his own request to Flack, because from this room one could see the scene of the Knights training.

The room provided for Baron Adam to rest was located on the top floor, right next to Earl Stephen's bedroom, separated by three floors.

Although it was the middle of the night, because the banquet had just ended, many oil lamps were still lit throughout the castle, and a large number of servants worked all night to restore the entire hall to its original state before the nobles had dinner tomorrow morning.

With Knight Foster, Krober quickly climbed up one flight of stairs after another and soon reached the top floor.

On both sides of the stairs to the top floor, there were two heavily armored knights standing on the left and right. When they saw Krober coming up, the heavily armored knight on the left stopped him.

“Master Krober, Sam greets you. Baron Adam has been waiting for you for a long time. I will lead you to the room where Lord Adam is resting.

Sam Tankard, one of Kroeber's acquaintances in the Moonlight Mushroom family.

His family was not aristocratic but was one of the richest merchants in the area. The most important business of the family was the Broken Wheel Tavern on the west side of the city. The surname Wineglass was derived from this, and was used to represent the family's most precious items or businesses.

Sam is a young man of about twenty-four or twenty-five years old. He was recruited as a squire by Earl Stephen's Knights when he was a teenager. Now in his twenties, he has reached the peak of an apprentice knight. It is expected that he will have a good chance of being promoted to a full knight before he turns thirty. By then, Sam can become a low-level military noble under Earl Stephen and have a new surname.

Led by Sam, Krober came to the room where Baron Adam was resting. After knocking on the door, Sam said goodbye and left.

As soon as he left, the door opened, and the person who opened the door was Krober's uncle, Adam Golden Rose.

He changed out of the formal suit he had worn to the banquet and put on a loose and comfortable brown shirt.

Adam was very happy to see that it was his nephew who came to see him. He smiled and invited Krober into his room.

The room was luxuriously decorated, with carpets made of high-quality Warcraft fur covering the floor, and a huge python head hanging on the wall.

After signaling the servant who had poured the coffee to leave the room, Adam invited Krober to take a seat.

"Sit down, Krober. Don't worry about etiquette in front of me. I am your uncle."

Krober smiled slightly and sat directly opposite Baron Adam, picked up the coffee on the table and smelled it.

"The aroma is rich and mellow. When I close my eyes and savor it carefully, it feels like a quiet night. This shouldn't be a product of the Principality, right?"

Although Krober's life was not very wealthy, he did not fall behind in education, and tasting was also one of the aristocratic courses.

Adam nodded.

"This is a high-end product from the Emerald Kingdom. I don't have a large collection, so I was planning to send you a can. Who would have thought I'd meet you in Moonlight Castle? So I'm giving it to you in advance."

Krober didn't like drinking coffee very much, but he would not refuse Baron Adam's kindness, so he nodded to indicate that he would accept it.

After this topic was over, the two began to chat as if they were talking about family matters. After an unknown amount of time, Baron Adam asked about Knight Krober's training.

"Now that you've reached the peak of the Apprentice Knight, what you need to do now is to find a way to reach the rank of Full Knight before the war. That way, perhaps you can catch up with the war and secure a fiefdom and a title for yourself."

Baron Adam was right. In a war at the national level, only official knights have the ability to protect themselves, and apprentice knights are nothing more than high-level cannon fodder.

Every time the Principality launched a war to the west, a large number of new nobles emerged, and a large number of old nobles passed away.

Adam hopes Kroeber can seize this opportunity.

"Uncle, what you said is very simple."

Kroeber smiled bitterly.

He also wanted to break through, but a good cook cannot cook without rice. He didn't even have the right breathing method, so how could he break through to become a formal knight.

Baron Adam seemed unhappy after hearing this.

"Why? If I gave you a breathing method suitable for you right now, wouldn't you be able to break through in a short period of time?"

Krober carefully sensed the energy and tremendous vitality in his body.

"If I have the right breathing method, I believe I can break through to become a full-fledged knight within a week."

Kroeber replied firmly.

Hearing this, Baron Adam also smiled.

"That's it, here, take it."

After saying that, he opened the drawer and threw a book-like object into Krober's hand.

Krober held the book, had some guesses in his mind, and looked at the cover of the book excitedly.

Heart of Gold

“This….this is!”

Surprised, Krober quickly looked up at Adam, only to see Adam drinking the coffee in his hand and looking at Krober's loss of composure with an expression of disbelief.

"What? You can't believe it? I can give you the intermediate breathing method inherited from my family?"

Baron Adam's smile was about to turn into laughter, and he seemed very happy with Krober's current reaction.

"I know you're having a hard time in that shabby place called Waterdeep, but you should know that not all noble families are like your foolish father."

In fact, this is true. Most nobles are sophisticated egoists, and there is no doubt about that.
