Chapter 18 I don’t want such a “filial” son

"So what should we do now? Keep tying them up here?" Shi Qinghe looked at the zombies in front of him. Although he wanted them to rest in peace as soon as possible, he couldn't bring himself to blow their heads off even if they turned into zombies.

"Well... just tie it here, and let's lock the door."

"I'll take Xiaoyang to collect some clothes. We'll gather and leave soon."

Ji Heng took Ji Yang away. Ji Yang had been hungry for many days, so he ate some bread that Ji Heng had just fed him. He felt hungry and weak, and could hardly walk steadily.

Ji Heng felt distressed, so he took Ji Yang back to Shi's house. However, as soon as he turned around and walked to the door of Shi's house, he heard the voice of Shi's father scolding Shi's mother in a low voice.

"Don't tell anyone, there are only two brothers left in their Ji family."

"Dad, Mom, are you hiding something from me?"

After awakening their special abilities, Shi Qinghe and Ji Heng's hearing and vision became much better than before, so they could naturally hear what Shi's father said in a low voice.

Just as Shi Qinghe finished speaking, she noticed someone standing at the door. She looked up and saw Ji Heng supporting Ji Yang standing at the door.

Ji Yang's face was pale and he was trembling with fear.

Ji Heng tightened his hand that was supporting Ji Yang. Upon closer inspection, one could see that the hand was trembling slightly.

There was a cracking sound, accompanied by a scream of pain.

"Brother...my hand..."

The screams were loud enough to attract zombies from other villa areas.

Shi Qinghe was standing at the right angle, and he could see the zombies coming towards him at a glance. He quickly brought the people in and closed the door.

Ji Yang was sweating profusely from the pain, but was afraid that his voice would attract more noise, so he gritted his teeth and curled up against the wall to relieve his pain.

He never thought that his brother would break his hand. How come he never realized how strong his brother was before?

After Ji Yang came to his senses, he thought that Ji Heng had discovered what he had done. He was so scared that he knelt on the ground, hugged Ji Heng's thigh with one hand, and begged bitterly.

"Brother, please forgive me. I really didn't mean it. I was just so scared at the time."

Ji Heng pursed his lips and clenched his fists, only then did he resist the urge to beat the beast to death.

"Uncle Shi, you say."

Seeing that he could no longer hide the truth, Shi's father finally told the truth.

It was true that Ji's father was bitten that day, but he died when he reached the doorstep of his home.

At first, Ji's mother didn't know that the end of the world was coming. When she heard a noise in the yard, she went out and saw Ji's father who had turned into a zombie.

When Mr. Ji saw Mrs. Ji, he rushed forward and tried to bite her.

Ji's mother was so scared that she wanted to hide back home, but the door was locked and she grabbed his back while trying to escape.

Shi Qinghe's sister happened to be watering flowers in the yard at the time. When she saw this, she went to save Ji's mother and was scratched together.

At this moment, Shi Qinghe couldn't help but punch Ji Yang, and Ji Yang fainted instantly.

Shi Qinghe punched several times but still felt unsatisfied. However, he stopped when he heard the sound of zombies banging on the door.

Looking at Ji Heng again, he was lowering his head, his whole body trembling slightly, and I don’t know what he was thinking about.

There was silence for a moment.

The only sound was the zombies banging on the door.

"How dare he...how dare he do this?"

If Ji Yang had opened the door that day, would Ji's mother have been able to hide in time?

"Qinghe, send Ji Yang to a base here later."

"Okay."

Hearing the murderous rage in Ji Heng's tone, Shi Qinghe sighed, helped Ji Yang up, and carried him on his back. Then, she felt a lightness on her back, and looked up to see Ji Heng carrying Ji Yang on his back with a calm face, tearing down the curtains and tying him tightly to his body.

"Protect Uncle Shi and Aunt Shi."

Shi Qinghe nodded. His father was holding a kitchen knife and carrying a baseball bat, while his mother was holding a golf club for self-defense. The three of them each carried a schoolbag and followed Ji Heng closely.

On the sixth day on the way back to Rongcheng, Ji Heng awakened his strength ability, and Shi Qinghe awakened his water ability.

With the bonus of strength, Ji Heng took the axe and cut the zombies as easily as cutting watermelon. With a few swings of the knife, the heads fell to the ground in an instant. Shi Qinghe behind him used his water power. The water condensed into ropes, which bound the lost limbs and made the zombies unable to move. After more than ten days of training, the two of them cooperated very well and quickly fought their way out of the group of zombies.

Shi's father and mother, who were standing beside them, would occasionally come forward to add a stab or two.

After they sat in the car, Mr. and Mrs. Shi collapsed in their seats, their hands shaking constantly, and it took them a long time to come back to their senses.

"Old man, I just... just killed someone..." Mother Shi closed her eyes, and all she could think of was the scene of her chopping off the zombie's head and the shiny black blood spraying all over her.

"That's no longer a human. When you kill a zombie, you're giving others a little more hope of survival. Don't think too much about it, old woman."

Ji Heng glanced at Shi's father and mother who were comforting each other, and couldn't help but think that if his parents were still alive, perhaps they would also comfort each other at this moment.

Mr. and Mrs. Shi are not old, but they are only in their fifties. They usually call each other old man and old woman.

Father Shi was holding Mother Shi in his arms, holding her hand with one hand and patting her back with the other. Seeing Ji Heng's sad expression, Father Shi couldn't help but think that if he hadn't had diarrhea that morning and was late for going out, he might have become a zombie. The old woman could not resist the zombies at home alone, and when Shi Qinghe came back to find them, he would only see a family of zombies.
